Welcome to the Rangers of the Radiance, a gemstone themed Power Rangers game.

This will be a more serious take on the popular hero group, way less corny villains and campy dialogue.

Rules:

1. What the GMs say, that is that. We are working hard to keep this game successful, we ask that you cooperate and help us to do that. So please, when GMs dictate something... do not argue.
2. Absolutely no meta-gaming allowed. You will be called out if you are throwing around or trying to use information to your advantage that your character could not possibly have. PM LamentingQuill and Prosak if you are unsure about something.
3. No killing of anyone's character is allowed without permission from the would-be victim's writer. Same with serious damage.
4. No God characters... you are not invincible and all powerful, do not act like your character can never ever be injured or hurt. Of course, reason and logic will also be applied here.
5. No God-modding... do not control something another person's character is saying or doing, unless you have the writer's permission.
6. Three characters total per person. No more than that. Do not overburden yourself either, do not take three or even two if it is too much for you; Until GMs say otherwise, only one Power Ranger per person.
7. This is not a porno. While we do not prohibit passionate scenes or hook ups, please do not use this roleplay as a means of enacting a Power Rangers themed XXX fantasy. Romantic hook ups are cool, but hook ups or encounters just for the sake of kinky sex... please, just don't.

Weapon~ 3 foot long staff with 6 inch long onyx blades on each end & standard blaster.
Zord: Manticore
   Abilities: twin snake tails like two whips and fire canon via zord's mouth.

Topaz Ranger- Reserved {Batman4560} -Armor color: Orange-
Weapon~ Double sided axe with blades of unbreakable Topaz with a viking shield & standard blaster
Zord~ Minotaur
   Abilities~ stampeding horn charge

Amethyst Ranger- Reserved (ElvenKitten} -Armor color: Violet-

Emerald Ranger- Reserved {El Maligno} -Armor color: Deep green-
Weapon: Gauntlets with regenerative six inch emerald daggers to emerge from beneath the hand. The blades can be broken off upon entering a target's body, whereupon new blades will quickly regenerate.
Zord: Cerberus
   Abilities: Each of the different heads being able to blast a different element each via the mouth.  Fire, electricity, and ice. 

Garnet Ranger- Reserved {NightLux} -Armor color: Dark red-
Weapon~Twin dark red energy whips & standard blaster
Zord~Chimera
   Abilities~ The three heads of the Chimera all spit something different. The dragon head spits a narrow stream of molten lava, the lion head has garnet vice grip jaws and the goat head rams it's strong head into enemies to stun and/or knock them back.

These high ranking individuals will control shadows beast minions like these here. The solid looking one is the sentient minion that receives the orders, when he goes, the other shadowy looking minions directly connected to his life force will vanish as well:







Prologue:

This universe is made up of many dimensions, each of them pressed tightly against the other with only a thin veil separating them... two of the most powerful dimensions in existence, existing side by side, being Luxa and Domine... realms of pure bright white light and piercing black suffocating darkness.

Luxa, ruled by the beautiful and powerful young Queen Seraphina, revered as a goddess of all things good and pure. Within her body is housed the Radiance, a powerful light energy capable of miracles, it is passed down to each new ruler of Luxa upon the previous ruler stepping down. It is the ruler's sacred job to protect the light and in doing so, protect the entire universe and all the dimension that make it.
Luxa is the source of light for all the dimensions in this tightly woven web of billions upon billions of realms, it is where dreams, hope and love are born.

In Luxa, there is a legend told about the Radiance... that in times of great strife and peril and there are no other peaceful options to resort to, the Radiance had the power to summon forth ten legendary heroes gifted with the powers mystical glittering stones.



Domine, ruled by the cruel and vicious hearted King Averice, this is the realm of nightmares and evil, where all things cruel, greedy, hateful and covetous are born. The king of Domine controls the Malum Sphere, a large spherical mass of terrifyingly powerful dark energy subject only to the commands of it's master.




However, enough... it was never enough for Domine or it's King, they wanted more... they wanted the Radiance, to capture it, corrupt it and add it's enormous power the already fierce power of the Malum Sphere...
Using the Malum Sphere, King Averice threw all caution for his own safety to the wind and summoned the full power of the Sphere, from there beginning to tear holes between dimensions, searching for a way inside Luxa... they managed to tear two good sized holes... one into Luxa and the other into a realm called... Earth.


The Domine King's minions tore apart Luxa in search of Queen Seraphina, laying devastating waste the beautiful paradise as they poured in through the tear like torrent of darkness, choking and suffocating the light of Luxa and her citizens...

Watching with a grief stricken heart from the palace, Queen Seraphina knew that her kingdom of light and hope was going to fall... but that did not mean light itself had to be snuffed out... she knew what she had to do...
Reaching deep inside herself for the power of the Radiance, Queen Seraphina gripped that sacred holy power tightly and unleashed it's great power to summon forth the heroes that would stop these dark fiends before they did to other realms what they have done here in Luxa...

Already weakened from her initial attempts to repel the invasion, the young queen used the very last of her power and strength to send the Radiance's energy out into the universe to find their champions... as for the queen... all that the King's dark soldiers found was the lifeless body of the ethereal young beauty laying upon the throne room floor.

King Averice however... his eyes were on the ten powerful colorful streams of the Radiance's energy skyrocketing through the second dimensional tear... and so, the King made the order... to Earth they would go and blend in to the inhabitants of this realm while they searched for these 'heroes'... once they found them, they would rip the essence of the Radiance right out of their unworthy bodies...


For those playing characters from Domine, it will seem like no time has passed at all after going through the portal to Earth's dimension, but twenty Earth years will have passed on Earth.

Your base exists between dimensions and those under the service of King Averice, are granted the ability to cut temporary shadow portals in the fabric between dimensions to go back and forth between.



For the rangers... your character will have been have this dream over and over the last month...


At first, the dream begins with flashes of the final moments of Luxa... ending with a beautiful young woman with pale blonde hair... her eyes are sad as ten brilliant balls of different colored lights appear all around her, she wavers as if horribly dizzy before she collapses to the floor... the ten balls of light shoot the window, shattering the glass...

The scene fades...

You are standing now on what appears to be the coast of Angel Grove... you can hear the water gently rolling back and forth against the beach, it feels like early evening and the fog is so thick... so thick you couldn't even see your hand if you lifted it in front of your face...

'The time has come to awaken, chosen hero... the threat is nigh...'

Slowly the fog begins to thin... and you see perched upon a high rock, a large white wolf adorned in sparkling diamonds jutting from his fur... his aqua blue eyes stare at you intelligently... and you begin to hear the same voice from before in your head...

'Seek me out, chosen one... come and claim your destiny... the this universe needs you... SHE needs you... take great caution, hero... the dark ones walk among you... you musn't tarry, come to me soon, hero chosen by the Radiance...'

Personality: Generally a happy kind of guy who laughs easily and gets on with just about anyone. Very difficult to truly anger unless close friends or family are involved. He has a strong sense of right and wrong.
Background: Although his mother was American, Nathan was born and raised in the UK. His father was in the British military and was away from home often. He was also a heavy drinker and although Nathan's mother doesn't like to talk about it, he suspects its the reason they broke up.

After the diverse Nathan aged fourteen went to America with his mother, both his older sisters had already left home and married by this point so they both remained in England.

Nathan's grandfather on his mother's side took them in and being fairly wealthy made sure Nathan got an excellent education and even rewarded him with amazing trips away when he did well. As such Nathan has developed a love for extreme sports and others like it from Mountain climbing to kiaking or snowboarding and surfing. He still continues with these hobbies and finds time to go do something fun as often as he can.

I would like to express interest in the Peridot Ranger if it isn't already taken.

I was thinking since according to the wiki, peridot is commonly confused with Emerald (not sure why, but okay, that's what's survived there) that maybe the Peridot is a sneakier/overlooked ranger?  Kind of like Billy in the original - most didn't consider him a threat outside of his suit and I was thinking of adapting that here.

Garnet just opened up, the writer needs to take things slower as she gets back into writing, so a group is too fast pace at the moment for her. If you'd like that... please PM me with what specialized weapons you'd like your ranger to wield, what mythological creature you'd like your zord to resemble and what you'd like the zord to be able to do. Any mythology will suffice, doesn't have to be any specific one, any creature that is thought to only exist in fantasy.

Dang that sucks, sorry to hear the player left us. But hey, as she mentioned, Garnet is open if you do want to be a Ranger still Nightlux. We also are willing to accept characters other then rangers; There is always familly and friends but the Domine King in particular can always use more loyal subjects.

That depends upon when we can get some villains, right now, we have only the king and the vizier in terms of bad guys.

Prosak and I have been talking and we've agreed that we just can't build a big enough villain side and the rp would suffer on a very large scale for it, thus we are very reluctantly pulling the plug on the rp.

We're very sorry and we thank you so much for all the time you've already invested in us and this game. You are all so wonderful and we hope for another more successful opportunity to work with you in the future, whenever that shall be.
