Lumen: Safe Haven for the Magical and Supernatural (Interest check)

Envision a large coastal city kept safe from mortal knowledge or detection by use of a very stable pocket dimension, measures have been woven into the magic to prevent mortals from ever entering the space. 

Individuals of magical and/or supernatural nature seeking a place to exist in relative peace without having to hide all the time, would receive a letter that would appear anywhere they would definitely see it, this letter would provide instructions on where to find the pocket dimension. This letter would appear blank to mortal eyes, just a normal sheet of paper with nothing interesting about it.

This would be a slice of life game where people can post when they have time to do so. I wish to create an environment where people with busy chaotic lives can still have fun without being pressured to respond several times in a week, let alone in one day. I personally understand the struggles of a busy home and work life, a handful of back and forth responses in one day is quite often not manageable.

I would be setting down some mechanics for the basic standard supernatural types like vampires and werewolves, just to avoid conflict because someone's vampire or werewolf is so much different from someone else and they think theirs is how it should work and yada, yada, yada. Best to avoid that. I give you my promise I’ll be fair about it and keep things fun for you.

As far as plot hooks go, I will devise a few here and there over time to give people some fun events, maybe even a splash of drama, but this won’t be a fast moving game with tons going on plot wise. I ask people to keep plot ideas and/or suggestions strictly to PMs directed at me, should this idea get enough traction to happen.

If this idea will appeal, I will begin world building right away and when I get enough done, I will put out an official recruitment thread.

Would everyone in this 'large city' be supernatural in some fashion, or does it have a mortal population as well?  If it does, who are they - e.g. people brought in by supernaturals, or solely the descendants of people included when it was founded / the pocket dimension was created around it / whatever actually happened?

Is there any power governing it or enforcing peace?

Yup.  Just wanted to check if supernaturals could bring in mortals (with the supernatural being the one finding it, and the mortals just along for the ride), or if it had been established with a mortal population in place.  A 100% supernatural population is certainly going to have an impact on various forms of feeding!

Not really, they have ways to get around that. All will be explained if we generate enough interest and I start world building.

Sounds fun. I do have a question, with supernatural how far do you want to go? As you said vampires and werewolfs, so how about elves, dwarves, trolls, goblins, orcs, kitsune, dragons, shapeshifters, drows, fae etc? how far in the fantasy realm can we go?
