Bio: Dory was once a simple Dormouse. A simple little creature that was mostly active at night and sleeping during the day. Tiny and unassuming. Hibernating nearly six months of the year in a little space in what would, one day, become the Tea House. The building's previous owner always kept it warm and there was always easy food to find. She rarely traveled outside of the house.

When Madden was brought to the shop, she avoided him at first. He was just a noisy human, like all the others that came and went. But she saw him crying in the kitchen one evening and something tugged at her tiny heart. Cautiously, she climbed across the kitchen and climbed up onto his shoulder. He pet her and, after a little time, calmed his crying. From then on, she would spend her hibernation months sleeping under his pillow and would hide under his hair when he went around the shop during her active months. Anytime he left the shop, she would hop off and scamper up the walls into the crawlspaces. When Madden finally snapped, she watched what he did to the old shop owner. It was scary, but she never felt threatened by him.

As a dormouse, Dory didn't have long to live. Even in the safety of the shop, she felt her age. The average life of a dormouse wasn't very long. She felt worried for Madden. What would happen to him if she wasn't there to help calm him down? That was when she started looking more closely at the people who came and went from the shop. Bidding her time until she saw the right ones. Fairies. Witches. Anyone with magic. Real magic.

It didn't take long. Dory didn't care what they were, just that they could do what she needed. Turn her into a human. Give her the lifespan of a human. Give her more time. 

Madden was surprised when he found the woman sleeping on the floor next to his bed. Nearly killed her. 

Since then, she's stuck around. Madden had a small shack built for her behind the shop so she could feel more human by having her own space. Dory doesn't drink the Tea that Madden makes and sells. It helps her keep a clear mind, even more so when Madden cannot. She's his sleepy friend and happy to help try calm him down. 

She's still learning her place in the world beyond the Tea House. Cautious to adventure out too much, but eager to learn. She has been human for over twenty years now, but she has yet to find a place in Darkwood where she can explore who she might really be in this form.

Qualities/Faults:
+ Agility: Dory is very quick and manages to slip through the cracks easily. This comes in handy when Madden gets a little crazy and starts wrecking things around the Tea House.
+ Calm: Dory is hard to shake. She is usually the most relaxed one in the room.
+ Unassuming: Dory is quiet. Even though she likes to dress playfully, wear a lot of makeup, large jewelry, and has unique features; she can easily fall into the background. She finds a spot and just sits and watches quietly.
- Caring: While most would consider this a positive trait, Dory lacks the knowledge of the outside world to be uncaring. She is quick to give a hug or be a shoulder to lean on, even when she probably shouldn't.
- Sleepy: In the colder months, despite being human now, she can't seem to shake the need to hibernate. It is not uncommon for her to just pass out wherever she's at if she gets too warm and cozy.
- Indecisive: She has a hard time making decisions. She'd rather let others make the choice. This works well for Madden since he's prone to changing his mind at a whim. She just goes with it because she doesn't want to make those choices herself.

Extra: Dormouse's most noticeable feature is their Vitiligo. A condition that resulted in her skin losing color in patches. Dory made some kind of deal with a magic user to get her human form, she is not really aware of what all that deal meant. Madden has taught her to use a sewing machine and she does like playing around with making clothing and playing with colorful fabrics. She has a clutter of things in her shack including makeup, jewelry, and fabrics.

Personality: Outwardly fun, friendly, and even flirtatious...especially at work. However, those that know her are aware that there is a darkness behind the mask...a hint of despair at her current situation.

Bio:

Ariel has always loved music. When one grows up in a city like Darkwood, it's hard to find beauty in all the ugliness. When Ariel was only 7 years old, her parents realized what a gift their daughter had, and immediately worked on making her a prodigy. A lifetime of voice-coaches, lyricists, producers, and musicians has left Ariel on a path to stardom. Such a shame that that path has taken a wrong turn.

Like so many would-be stars, the talented redhead has tried her hardest to make it big, without falling into traps that would make it so much easier. While there are stars out there with natural talent that have made it big, there is a darker secret within the entertainment industry...one that has women like Ariel on their knees, and/or bent over the desks of producers who care nothing for talent...just a pretty face. Ariel has kept her pride, but at the cost of getting a break out of Darkwood, where she's lived her whole life.

Even after her parents death, Ariel tried to continue on. It was pure luck that she was able to score a gig at the Atlantica, after an absolutely killer audition with Miss Ursula. It's here that she's able to sing her heart out, the skills she's gained over the years now giving her a leg up. Her voice woo's and tugs at the very soul of a person, making them truly feel the songs that pour from her throat. While many sailors recall the story of a Syren, it seems that Ariel is the embodiment of the fabled creature.

Qualities/Faults:

+ Mermaid at Play - when she is completely submerged in water, Ariel actually takes on the form of a mermaid. Her lower half becomes that of a fish, with shimmering greenish-blue scales and a translucent tailfin. She is also able to breathe under water without issue. This ability lasts a mandatory 30 minutes....after that time, she can turn fully human whenever she wishes.

+ Syren's Song - Ariel has the ability to use her singing to captivate and make people feel what she's wanting them to. If she sings about poverty, her tip jar will overflow with money. If she sings about love, people will flock to her door. It is an ability that she has learned to temper down.

+ Flirtatious Fun - It's like a switch. When Ariel is at work, she's able to make any person feel like they are the center of attention, and that they have all the chance in the world to be with her. This, added with her magical singing, can bring some people literally to their knees for her.

+ Ginger Attitude - Redheads have a reputation for being spitfires, and Ariel is no different. She can go from friendly and flirty to a ball of fiery anger in the blink of an eye. While its rare for this rage to come out, she has been known to cut a bitch for crossing her....literally.

- Water Allergy - Ariel's ability to become a mermaid is not something she can control. Once half of her body is completely soaked, it happens. Because of this she tends to not go out when its raining, can only take a bath, and tries to never let herself be caught in a sudden storm. Were she to become a mermaid and not be UNDER water, it is entirely possible that she would suffocate and die.

- Mental Health - Though outwardly always having a smile on her face, Ariel does struggle with emotional damage. Years of failing to make it big and ending up as little more than a lounge singer has left her in a state of mild despair. The glimmer of fame is still there, but it is fading fast.

-Death of Magic - Even with her ability to woo the coldest of hearts, that magic can shatter in an instant. For those that Ariel truly wants to bring into her web, the magic only lasts as long as her attention is on them. Once she draws her attention completely away her spell will be broken, and the person will feel as if they are waking up from a VERY pleasant dream.

-Substance Abuse - Everyone can have a vice, but with Ariel the vices tend to get out of control. While she hasn't given up her body for a quick fix, the thought does sometimes enter her mind. Luckily, she is still pretty well-off, and she is far from hitting her rock-bottom. For now.

Extra: On the left side of her pelvis is a mark that is the symbol for water. It will glow to indicate when she is about to turn.

Ons/Offs - Character: Ariel tends to be a little subbie. She's a sucker for a strong personality. Ariel does not get down with gore, vore, bathroom play, violence in the bedroom, or body modification.
