Wasn't sure if this should go here or in the Israel thread, but I've been following this fairly closely:

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/hezbollah-pagers-explode-lebanon-new-device-explosions-beirut/

It's...horrifying and fascinating to see how Gold Apollo approved their branding on the devices, but  Bac Consulting KFT (in Hungary) supposedly produced the devices, but the devices were never in Hungary. :/
Whеn's the last time you tasted blood?
And what would it take to stem the flood?
And I am caught in time...
Like clockwork beneath the permafrost.
I might lose my mind
back to back with oblivion

To go in the dark with a light is to know the light.
To know the dark, go dark. Go without sight,
and find that the dark, too, blooms and sings,
and is traveled by dark feet and dark wings.

this reminds me of the theft of a truckload of Girl Scout cookies when I was based in Spain. We used to joke on base About some guy who had a house full of thin mints, stacked up to the ceiling

Call me when they steal 3000 tonnes of maple syrup from Canada's Strategic Maple Syrup Reserve.
Doomer preparation is getting outta hand right now.

Seriously though, what can one possibly do with three thousand tons of maple syrup? Worst thing I've seen is alcohol and tasty edibles.

clonkertink

They basically siphoned it off over the course of several months with the help of an insider, and solid it through legit retailers who didn't realize the goods were stolen.

The Onion has caused NYT to write the most Oniony headline I've read in a long time.

The Onion Says It Has Bought Infowars, Alex Jones’s Site, Out of Bankruptcy

That cannot be real. It would be too hilarious.

It is deeply surreal. This is like satirical performance art or something.

I enjoy watching Alex Jones BP jumping to record highs.

clonkertink

I mean, I did link to a New York Times article on the subject. So yeah. This is very real.

At the same time, I can absolutely understand people not knowing if it's real because... well... The Onion.

That made my day! Thank you :)

It did light up my mood after learning that Matt Gaetz is going be the next US Secretary of Justice... and that Tulsi Gabbard is going to be the US Director of National Intelligence.

(I mean, it's kind of fun that someone who looks just like my Ellli avatar is getting that National Intelligence spot... but come on)

Not sure how 'truthy' it is, but I heard a blurb on NPR this morning, and saw it confirmed elsewhere (including this and this from The Hill) that Gaetz may face quite a hurdle in getting confirmed.
Whether it's a breakdown or a breakthrough, shit still gets broken.
