He made good money with his work and so had excess money to spend on sex, drugs and prostitutes.

He had soon shifted from relationships to meaningless sex, paying for it whenever he wanted one. He made a lot of connections through his work, always looking for an excuse to host a party or an orgy. It was through this contact that he came in touch with one of the persons who told him about the coven and they were looking for male whores. He gave the idea a thought for a couple of weeks before agreeing.

He was told that he would be serving the female vampires, providing them with sex and his blood. He had made it clear that he was not interested in males and that was accepted by the agent. Once his terms were met, he decided to tag along and see how things went.

While she knows these small facts about her heritage it bears no importance to her, all Anastasia cares about is that Obadiah found her alone in an empty house. For some reason she couldn't fathom he had taken the child and raised her. He had been father and mother to her as a child. Educating her and training her making her strong of mind and of body. Around her teenage years Anastasia noticed he started to look at her developing body in a different light. As the child became a woman Obadiah or Askia as she called him when they were alone began to rely on her for the more mundane parts of his job. Slowly he began to rely on her more and more for those little things only women could provide, but Anastasia wants more from him then just appreciate words and sneaked looks. She wants to become his bride and will do anything to make that happen.

The fact is that Ruby has been working diligently to acquire power and respect among vampire society since the moment she as reborn.  She has used every tool at her disposal to claw her way up from nothing to sit upon the board of the most powerful vampire corporation in the world.  She taught herself the law, has studied diligently to hone her skills and to accumulate more knowledge of legal precedent and nuance than any living lawyer.  She is damn good at her job, and works to train others to be good at theirs, knowing that Am-Heh needs a whole legal team and a division of aides, paralegals and legal secretaries all working at peak performance.

In her off-hours, she's a well-known hedonist who spends her time reveling in the pleasures of the flesh still afforded to her.  While she can't enjoy a decadent meal, she has developed a fetish for watching humans eat, and swears that the blood tastes richer when the doll has been fed well prior.  She takes pleasure in things of beauty and spends her vast accumulated wealth on herself, and also those lucky dolls she surrounds herself with.  Most nights find her in a plush lounge or even noisy nightclub, indulging that part of her that still savors all those human things even after four hundred years.
