The Indigo Kingdom
Game Information
Settings
- Indigo is a high fantasy game in a medieval time period
- All sexualities, genders, and forms of Rainbow Writers will be allowed.
- This is not a sex and pairing focused group. But sex and pairings are welcomed, as that is the beauty of the sandbox.
- This is a free-form sandbox type game with GM controlled story lines and events. People will be able to come up with and play their own stories. But I will throw up group events such as parties or monster attacks, as well as set characters on "journeys" occasionally.
- With the above in mind, feel free to suggest ideas of your own to happen. I'll certainly consider any suggestions.
- I will not run any sort of system for fighting myself, however if people want to roll dice for their PvP, they can go for it.
- PvP and mischief is not only allowed but encouraged
- This is in the Extreme section to allow the openness and creativity that the group provides in the both sexual and none sexual sense. That being said, remember to abide by people's O/O's, and never begin anything non-con without OOC permission. Also remember to use the "warning" part of the header for anything edgy.
- Any stories or mischief you come up with yourself must not effect anything on a large scale without GM approval. It may only effect your character and those around your character.

History
7,000 years ago a divine war raged, and had raged for 2,000 years previous. Magical mortals caught in the middle were being slain left and right, until too few were left to matter. The angels never meant for this to happen, and so, their Lord devised a plan. In payment for saving one, he set six women whom referred to themselves as the Rose Sisters, to create a haven for magic. They chose a location so far north none dared venture, and set to work building their land. They shielded it with the strongest magic, and brought forth the four Elemental Spirits to help safe guard it. A utopia was born, and they called it the Indigo Kingdom. So named for the blue sands of the beaches and stones of the city.
The Kingdom flourished under their watchful eyes and with Alluriella named as its Queen, peace was ensured. It stayed hidden to all but the magical few for 1,000 years after it's founding, until at long last the divine war ended. Angels and demons alike retreated back to their unearthly territories, and vowed never to interfere so prominently again. With that, the Rose Sisters lifted the shield off of Indigo, and revealed it to the world. Though still protected, the land grew and flourished further over the next 4,000 years. They stayed away from the politics and wars of the world, and kept their original base as a safe haven for magical beings. Nothing lasts though, and there was a darkness brewing in the depths.
2,000 years ago, one by one, the Rose Sisters simply disappeared, along with them the Souls of the Elements. A darkened evil woman was said to be behind it, and too soon she caught up with Alluriella. She was slain, thought lost to most, and leaving only Aurora. The most private of the six sisters wanted no part in being Queen. So, she instead placed her son Liir at the throne, then disappeared herself.
Liir ruled for 700 years before his days were finally numbered, died of an strange illness which had plagued the kingdom. His son took over, and his descendents thereafter ruled Indigo in mostly peaceful solitude. The people had nearly forgotten about the women who built the land, even the one whom still walked the earth, and they had also forgotten the elemental spirits which once balanced the kingdom.
It was 50 years ago that things began to stir. Mortal men attacked the kingdom and killed the royal family. They let loose an evil dragon called Akabon who destroyed the village, and with their attack they triggered an ancient fail safe set in place by the sisters. The kingdom tossed the out the attackers and hide itself in time. No way in, no way way unless you never wanted to return. It essentially did not exist. It was forgotten from the world.
The princess had survived though, named Allure after the first Queen. She hide though, only coming out when necessary and only barely taking control. Her home had been destroyed and she did not know how to fix that.
10 years ago the answers came in a vision. With the help of selected warriors, the princess freed the elemental souls, and with them, the truth. Aurora had returned just in time, and set things right, and the Princess Allure was revealed and regenerated into the Queen Alluriella. The kingdom was revealed to the world once more, and upon their return, the sisters repaired their city and village. Indigo was once again as it should be.
Now Indigo is alive with every activity, and does not suffer from such pains as others. Low crime, high morals, a buzz with magic, it is once more as it was originally intended be: a safe haven for all magical beings.
Timeline
- The city was built 7,000 years ago.
- The divine war ended 6,000 years ago.
- Terrabeth set about hunting the Rose Sisters 3,000 years ago.
- 2,000 years ago Alluriella was "killed"
- After she was killed the kingdom laid mostly quiet. Though not hidden. Its power was just downed. Aurora's son Liir followed by his descendants ruled during that period of 2,000 years. While the Rose Sisters were mostly forgotten about.
- 65 years ago Alluriella was "reborn" as the princess Allure. Though she had no idea who she really was.
- 50 years ago the kingdom was attacked by mortal men which activated a failsafe and hid the kingdom from all.
- 10 years ago the curse and the failsafe was broken revealing the kingdom once more.
Religion
There is no set religion in Indigo, instead the kingdom welcomes the diversity of the religions of the world. However, there is a temple to honor the four Elemental Souls. Though they rarely show themselves, they are part of what help make the Kingdom and the Rose Sisters what they are, and they are treated with a sense of worship.
Law
Indigo law is swift but understanding. They are not found of giving death or cutting off limbs, but instead resort to more clever punishment like service and servitude. Their laws though are very similar to other lands, no killing, rape, or stealing. A unique law to them though is that you cannot hunt except for food, and hunting of nearly all magical animals is outlawed completely.
Trade
Indigo citizens generally prefer the trade of goods for other goods, or else raw metal and gems, instead of fooling with coins. Though they do have a system of money, just a makeshift one. The coins that float through Indigo are mostly foreign and are therefore judged in value by their material and size. Gold being the highest of course, with silver next in line, and bronze with the lowest value. Indigo does have it's own set of coins made out of these three metals, all uniform in size (about the size of a modern quarter), with a rose imprinted on the front and a pentagram imprinted on the back
Geography
- Indigo is a stand alone continent about the size of South Carolina located near the north pole.
- The only way in or out of the kingdom are the ports around Scarlet Village. Even if you fly in, you cannot arrive to another location.
- Indigo is in a sort of pocket dimension, shielded and hidden from all sides except the one containing the beach and Scarlet Village
- When approaching the boundaries of the other sides from within the kingdom, a blueish wall with rainbows swirling becomes visible. This is, in a sense, a force field.
- The weather in Indigo is usually pleasant and tolerable, even when it's bad weather.
- Magic is thoroughly obvious throughout the land, as is the variety of people and animals
- The village is south and the mountains are north
Rules
Game Rules
- All characters must be approved by me through PM.
- If you choose to leave the group, please inform me and anybody you are RPing with so we're not left hanging and I can mark your character as "inactive"
- IC Posts should be at least 2-3 paragraphs each. Longer is great. Shorter is understandable on occasion, but not all time.
- Please try not to keep anybody waiting on a post longer than one week. Inform them if you will be longer. RL crops up, we all understand that
- Some "Events" will be expected to be replied to within three days as some of them will be faster moving.
- Use the post header properly in every IC post.
- While I have few to no limitations on races, keep it reasonable. Nothing God or God like. Nothing invincible. Nothing Superman powerful (even he had a weakness). You can have a Demi God if you want, but remember that Demi Gods can die.
- The above also goes for your character's powers and weapons.
- If you are not familiar with The Oath of the Drake I ask that you please take a peak and try to abide by its words.
- If you have a problem of any kind, please bring it to me so I can try to sort it out.
- Questions are welcomed and concerns are noted.
- Most importantly, have fun! The draw for this group is creativity, so let your imaginations wander and enjoy what it brings forth.
Character Creation Rules
- I put almost no limitations on races/species, but power level must be reasonable. No "god-like" characters.
- While characters can be a race inspired a favorite game or book that fits the setting, please avoid carbon copies of cannon characters.
- You must have a picture for your character. This can be a real photo or artwork, I prefer to stay away from things that look like they came straight out of an anime or video game. But exceptions can be made.
- You must provide a written appearance of your character as well.
- Histories must be a minimum of two paragraphs long. Older characters should have longer histories.
- Weapons can be magically entranced. But just like character power level, don't go overboard.
- Abilities and skills must fit the character's training and/or race limitations.
- It's a big world outside of Indigo, your character could have come from anywhere in it.
Pet/Companion Rules
- Pets and companions are essentially NPCs. They can be anything from a dog, to a griffin, to a travel companion or family member. Though please note that I do prefer them to be actual animals and pets for the most part.
- Since they are NPCs, they cannot take part in tournaments or other GM events by themselves.
- You must fill out the pet/companion sheet to have anything more than an unidentified horse
- Pets/companions usually stay by your character's side. However, you can play your character without their pet/companion and in certain circumstances you can play the pet/companion without your character
