I got stupidly upset today at such a little thing - kisses - or more exactly butterfly kisses, and Eskimo kisses - my friend said he'd never had them, didn't even know what they were.  It seemed such a sad thing, bound up too with the fact that he was parented without enough affection or the  closeness and laughing playfulness that those kisses seem to mean to me.

I wish with all my heart that all children had them, lots of them - and I hope too that my children pass them on - in a never ending chain - butterfly kisses cascading through the generations - I hope there are millions of them
