[MUL] Restoring a Goddess. (Interest check)
« on: July 27, 2009, 03:56:55 AM »
This is yet another attempt at a fairly long running Group game (I hope. :P)

The story will take place in a past time, fantasy in setting of course, where a Small group of travelers (Im thinking about 3-4 people max, with 4 being the Ideal number.) Have to travel across the lands to gather certain Reagents to create an antidote to something Their goddess (one of the players) Is plagued with. The Ailment sapped all of her immortal power, and rendered her for lack of a better word, human. The travelers were selected by the government of their nation to escort their Deity made human to each location, as she has to be physically there to collect the reagents in question. On top of that, there of course will be danger surrounding the small group of people, as the ones that afflicted the goddess will of course be looking to silence her. One in particular (My character, aside from running the setting.) A demi-god, and the goddess’s little brother, both hunts and protects his elder sister. Think of the time and setting being Dragons, magic, and kingdoms. There will be several of each. :P

What im looking for.

2 males and 2 females, If male members with to play female characters, I’m all for it. But the cast would suit better sitting at that number. One person to play the goddess, one female character and 2 male. What you play is entirely up to you, as well as how you play it with a few things to keep in mind. 1, These characters do not have to be duty bound to the goddess. They could be in it just because they are strong, clever or what have you, and are being paid, its not like everyone believes what she is. 2, Adult oriented fun is always welcome, in fact, I encourage it as a part of the story. Though please keep in mind this is not a smut filled adventure, though a little playtime now and then is peachy, especially for making up character relationships, unless its determined ahead of time that characters have a bond with one another. :P

If possible, I would like this to come into more of a large group game, with 6-8 players excluding myself.

A little more into the back-story I have whirling into my head. The goddess, (Withholding  name so no one is stuck using what I pick.) is a goddess of mercy. She has been nurturing the human race since its creation, as if they were her own children. Her opposite, sought to take control of them, making them his slaves. The heaven and hell clash had torn their immortal world apart, but little was done to the mortal world at all. While the gods and goddesses were not mortal, they could tread the mortal world, even mingle with its people. It was here that the dark god Serratus poisoned the goddess with a magical ailment with little to no hope of recovering, locking her away from her powers, and imprisoning her in the mortals world. With no small amount of convincing, she persuaded the largest nation in the land to lend her their aid, even powerless she was revered for what she was.

That about covers what happened, if there are interests, questions, comments, suggestions, I would be happy to hear them. This is a Freeform game, so there will be no systems to determine fighting and the like. I would ask that all players remain within reasonable limits for character creation as well. No people capable of blowing up the world at the snap of a finger, that’s why we have gods/Demi-gods. :P Ill need a small list of things for the character sheet as well, listed below.

Magical Power (If any, list elements, types of magic, I.e the ability to summon creatures to do your bidding, ect, again, stay reasonable.)
Appearance (Pictures will do if you don’t want to type.)
Reason for charge (Why this character was picked to escort the goddess, basically a small history leading up to now.)

That about covers it. Hopefully I have interested some, or just gave some a good read. In the meantime, Thank you for reading this RP request. PM me, or just post here with interest, or anything you want to know. Thank you

Dude... if I didn't have finals this week and I wasn't always so busy, I would totally love to join. >.<

Good luck. :-) This sounds like it would be a lot of fun.

Very interested, as I've been jonesing for something with a more D&D feel for a while.

Name: Martyn Matheson

Sex: Male

Age: 34

Weight: 175 lbs.

Height: 6'0"

Magical Power: Very skilled in offensive magics, has some skill in the other magical colleges, but could hardly pass as a Journeyman in any of them.
Personality: Ambitious and self-absorbed, he does nothing that will directly benefit himself. Martyn has a great appetite for luxuries, especially women, which makes him especially vulnerable to courtesans and other such charmers. Very single-minded, when he sets a goal he will charge through any walls to see the end of the road.

Reason for charge: Matheson was being kept in the government (King?) jails, charged with four murders. Due to his exceptional arcane talents, he has been kept under very keen watch by a team of city mages. These same magical powers make him a good ally for such a journey, and he has agreed to help accompany the Goddess for a full pardon.

Name: Gaal Strizen
Appearance:This was the closest image I could find to how I imagined him, but he has no goose, claws, fangs, or glowy eyes.
Magical Power: He is a healer, though it comes as both a gift and a curse. He can take anybodies injury, and heal it instantly, but at the penalty of receiving the wound himself, so long as he can touch them. But as a reward for this burden, any wound he receives naturally can be transferred to who ever he touches, and thus makes him a great trick play in battle, though he will still feel fatigue and blood loss. He will have a scar from every wound, transferred to or from him. He has never tried to heal the dead, and fears what would happen if he did. He also has moderate skills with a rapier, able to defend himself from most attackers, though plenty of fighters are better than him, though most lack his endurance and tolerance for pain that he has built up over the years.
Personality: Gaal is a polite, if somewhat offish man, proud but slightly confused by his power, believing it to be a gift from the gods that he received when he was 14, and uses it to an almost annoying extent, healing everything from broken bones to poisin ivy rashes, till it can become annoying to be around him if you are hurt. How ever, his personality seems to do a 180 in battle, becoming a cold and malicious man, though still he acts polite. He will often taunt his enemies while taking blow after blow, having grown used to pain and smiling at his attackers. As soon as he amasses enough wounds, he will transfer them to his enemy, before using his own rapier to finish them off.
Reason for charge: Obviously a man such as himself would soon be told of far and wide, though he finds the tales are rather exaggerated, claiming him to be a demon who feeds of torment of others in battle and grows stronger with each person he destroys. He none the less offered his assistance, knowing he could be of use in the goddess's quest. He hopes that perhaps he will be able to find who he received his ability from, and for what purpose he is to use it for. His own little pilgrimage if you will.
