1. Tell us how you found us, please? A link from another site, another member, a search engine phrase, etcetera.

A topic on Bluemoon. It made me curious to check it out.

2. Confirmation that you understand our rules. You are responsible for bringing up any questions if you do not understand our rules, so please note any on which you need clarification here.

I understand.

3. A confirmation that you are over eighteen (18) years of age. You don't need to give your birth date, however we do need a clear statement that you are of age.
I am 41 years of age.

4. Your native language(s) and what region you are from. List your primary language first and include all others in order of fluency. Elliquiy is an English speaking community but it is also a global one. We welcome members from all over the world, and we love to know where our members hail from.

My native language is English. Born in the United States, particularly Florida, but I've since moved elsewhere.

5. What are your reasons for joining Elliquiy, and what aspects of our community are you interested in? What do you look for in an on-line community in general, and a role-playing community specifically? Please be descriptive. Elliquiy isn’t just an adult roleplaying site: we have forums for storytelling, poetry, and art; places to socialize with other members; areas to discuss politics and religion; and so much more! You can check out our Preview of Elliquiy to get an idea of what you’ll see as an approved member.

I have heard both good and other things about Elliquiy. Luckily, I’m my own person and I like to see how everything is with my own eyes. I wanted to find a community where I can hopefully feel fine enough to be myself and explore my writing further. As far as what parts of the site I’m interested in. More than likely the writing areas. I see there’s also a section for forum games/socializing so definitely there to meet everyone. Out of a writing community, I look for an actual home that I can write to my heart’s content and forge lasting friendships, however that looks like.

6. Are you new to roleplaying? If so, would you like someone to help you get more involved? If not, please tell us a little about your past experiences. Regardless of your experience what are your expectations from a roleplay partner?

No, I’m not. I started 21 years ago. While I’m okay on that front, I feel there’s always something to learn from partners. I don’t think I would be where I am today if not for those I’ve written with giving me such great responses, pushing me to give it all I got. For a little bit of giggles, my friend and I did a completely random roleplay. Random as in we had our own characters but we killed them off in favor of bringing in Dante of DMC, Michael Jackson, and others with a story that was just…whew. Of course we had fun. That was years ago though. I enjoy partners who can have fun with me, match that energy of wanting to tell a story with characters. If we can challenge each other, that’s great.

7. Elliquiy consists of a wide array of sexualities, personalities and enthusiasts of various kinks. How comfortable are you interacting in such a community?

I am fine with that.

8. How do you feel about males writing as female characters or females writing as male characters? Please elaborate: do you do this yourself? Would you write with someone who is doing this? If you are transgender or intersex, feel free to adapt this question appropriately.

Whatever works for anyone. I don’t judge and yes I would write with anyone who does this. I usually write females, however, I can write males too.

9. Let us know about your pet peeves or other things that bother you. Fetishes you do not like, styles you cannot appreciate and attitudes that annoy you are all valid answers here.

Lack of communication. Let’s just talk it out, whatever it is. Not a fan of passive aggressive behavior.

Optional Questions:
As our application process is a chance for us to get to know you better, we've left a few optional questions to get you started. A member of our Welcoming team will be along soon to continue the process. If you do choose to answer these at a later date, you will need to reply to your introduction thread with a new post, as unapproved applicants cannot edit posts.

A. Would you like to disclose your gender identity? We do not require our members to reveal their real gender. However, doing so determines your User Group, Badge, and some OOC Boards on Elliquiy. General membership will be processed as Legate - approved members who do not wish to disclose their gender identity, or feel gender is irrelevant. Approved members who have chosen to reveal their gender as a response to this question will be assigned: Lady (for those who identify as female), Liege (A supportive group for individuals who are intersex, do not identify with one singular gender, or who are transitioning), or Lord (for those who identify as male). A full explanation of Elliquiy’s User Group and Badge system can be found here.

Female.

B. What are some hobbies or activities you particularly enjoy? This can be anything you enjoy in your free time. For example: videogames, sports, cooking, crafts, traveling, reading, etcetera. As a large and diverse community, we often have social areas where our members can talk about their favorite things. Let us know what you like so we can better help you find boards, threads, or discussions that might interest you!

Writing is number one. I do enjoy building those Lego Architecture sets too. Then there’s video games, gamer at heart. Watching movies, exercising, and reading books. I have my own miniature bookshelf library I’m gradually building it.

C. What would you do if a writing partner suddenly, and without prior discussion, included one of your major offs in your roleplay?

I would have to talk to them about it especially if before hand we discussed why they are my major offs.

D. Please describe your writing style and preferences. Information such as preferred genre, writing perspective (first, second, or third person perspective), setting, and post length are great answers.

I usually write several paragraphs that can be anywhere from 1500 to 3000 but I’m adaptable plus there are times when I write some back and forth replies which would be shorter for dialogue, or back and forth action. I only write in third person perspective. Settings I enjoy are Medieval, Fantasy, Sci-fi, Supernatural, splice of Life, Contemporary, and Action-Adventure. Romance isn’t bad to include either.

E. Please describe your ideal roleplaying partner and their character.
Someone who aims to build a great story with me, keeping me on my toes, and their character has many layers waiting to be discovered.

F. As part of the application process, our members like asking fun questions of applicants. We want to get to know you and entertain you during your approval process!
F1. Please let us know if you would you prefer: fun/silly questions, writing prompts, both, or neither. If you opt out, Staff will ask you more serious questions about writing and roleplaying instead.

No crazy questions or writing prompts, please.

F2. If you would like fun questions or a writing prompt, please start by treating the following as either a question, writing prompt, or character building exercise, and remember to keep it PG13: People start waking up with superpowers, but they are mostly useless. For example, the power to be immune to every third bullet, or the power to force people to do the chicken dance whenever the song is played. What would your ‘mostly useless’ power be, and how would you use it?

F3. If you prefer no crazy questions or prompts, you can still include a sample of your writing, if you would like; we would love to see your writing style and creativity! As with all areas of Elliquiy you can see right now, please keep your writing sample PG13.

This is from a story I did with a friend. My post.

He found it strange sometimes to happen across humans around the universe when at one point, a very long time ago, they were held together by the shackles of their home world. Earth. But now since it had become inaccessible, they were all over the place. In the government, here on Corvus, wherever. Only moments ago he was engaged in conversation with a group who still seemed to think that they were on Earth, that the same entitlement notorious with certain individuals applied to the now. That he, the owner of his establishment, would cater to their selfishness and be intimidated by their empty threats. No, it did not work like that. Graim would never alter any of his products to suit nastiness, they could just go somewhere else for all he cared. He tried, for their sake, not to divulge into the madness even if arrogant people tried his very last nerve. Allowing it to take hold of him would jeopardize everything and he and Feala had sacrificed so much to get where they were now.

By the time the tourists left, unsatisfied by his polite decline of their inquiries and suggestions, it was time to open the shop up in its official capacity. Luckily, his employees were trained well and everyone worked together to keep the Market running smoothly because while Graim usually hung out in the back, prepping, cooking, etc. Feala and a couple others took to the front. However, his partner, heading to give Macka the schedule, was obviously not here so the blonde male had to remain at the front of the house. Tending to some of the early risers and regulars, nothing he couldn’t handle though he would have liked to be out riding on his motorcycle with his friend. It was the second set of humans that entered who made him embarrassed to have once been one. Two females, mid-forties likely, one with a beehive of auburn hair and too much of a tan stood beside her dark-haired counterpart whose hair was in two pigtails. A look clearly not for someone her age. Both wore bright yellow crop tops exposing their not-toned bellies and baby blue short skirts that if Graim bothered to care for a proper look, he would have seen their business underneath when they bent over. They caught him just as he was coming back from a table of young Shienaran parents and their playful little one. When they spoke, they sounded nasally and readily chewed on gum while holding sequin clutches. Adding injury to insult of the whole outfit, the heels were massive and red. He generously welcomed them with his smile until they merely wanted to complain about not only his reasonable prices but the menu itself.

Then, Graim checked out. Their annoying voices drowned out as did the minimal noise of the few other occupants. Leaning over on the glass countertop, the man rested a hand underneath his chin, the smile very much present but he was a million miles away in another lifetime where he was a policeman, above all else, a father.

He was not perfect by any means. Often he was doubtful of his abilities, but caring for his son there was no question he was good at that. The baby had not reached three. He couldn’t form complete or even understandable sentences yet Graim always knew what he wanted. Around that time, the sickness came out of nowhere. A report here, something there. It was also when Project Eden took off. Creation of vessels to explore the outer limits of the universe. Some alleged because of exploration, humans inadvertently brought something back to the planet. The truth of the matter was as lost as the place of his birth. Whatever illness it was, it turned anything it came in contact with into demonic creatures, the only way he could describe it. It appeared as a blighted mark on the skin, a circle with a triangle in the middle. By this point Graim was ready to take his kid and get the hell out of town yet as he soon realized, there was no place to run to in order to escape the madness. When he came home from work one evening, he found his home and life destroyed. A piece of him died in that moment. He wanted it to all be over. Going forward, while he existed, he also really didn’t. He went to rather dark places. Quitting the force, he headed west while the world changed because of the incurable sickness and gradually the creatures’ numbers increased with many opting to leave the planet altogether. He settled in some city selling guns, met and hired Feala and slowly regained some semblance of a life falling in love with her sister. Only for it to come crashing down when she went missing and they searched in vain for her. The end of his and Feala’s former lives came when they were deep in a nest of the demons, back-to-back, weapons raised and the irony being they too had found themselves marked, the illness sure to follow. They decided to fight. Regardless of how futile their efforts were, they would not let it end there. Soon, however, they were overrun by the beasts and devoured by darkness.

He cocked his head to the side, the memories becoming unpleasant to think about. The pair sharing custody of a few brain cells were still rambling away. About what, at this point, Graim couldn’t even guess. Talking just to talk. When he and Feala awoke, they had, loosely speaking, survived. Though, they were not alone. They were the vessels for their demon hosts, Peteng and Gedhe, deviants. Any form of distress contributed to triggering them for the transformation. The first few years were the hardest, unable to control it, allowing their counterparts to take over and slaughter anything in their path, It became a curse of sorts. Longevity, with the two brooding monsters keeping them alive for their own amusement. So long as they lived, Feala and Graim would never know peace.

“Um, hello, are you even listening?” One of the females got his attention by snapping her fingers inches away from his face. He frowned, pulling back, glaring dangerously at both of them. “Do you like uh do catering? I mean, I’m, like, willing to overlook the fact you don’t sell Presidential Cake, hello.” She and her friend shared a brief chuckle. Suddenly the front door opened hard, heads turned. Feala stormed inside. She let her back press against it when it closed, arms crossed defiantly over her chest. “Hey, are you listening to me? Am I going to have to, like, call your manager or something? You are so rude-“

Graim’s eyes immediately went to his friend. He held up a finger to the female. “Shut up,” She was still trying to talk to him. “Shut up.” His voice raised. Again, she didn’t get the memo. “I said shut up.” He quickly looked back at them. They were shocked. He was coming around the counter and they gasped, concerned he might actually clock them one. Graim only cared about Feala. “Get out of my store.” They were slow to move. “Now!” He bellowed. Customers’ heads turned towards him. Most who knew him knew that unless in a dire situation, Graim did not easily lose his cool. The fact that these two had been allowed to be here this long was a miracle. They soon turned tail running on each side of his close friend who stumbled forward, not at all like her when she was on her game. The former policeman was at her side instantly, ignoring everything else. He placed a supportive arm securely around her waist guiding her on. Some of the employees were coming over, expressions of confusion on their faces as Graim rushed Feala to the back, the seriousness on his face told the others there to make themselves scarce. Feet moved fast. The proprietor took his companion to one of the deep supply walk-ins. One with a multi-lock coded by a pin on the inside and out accessible only by their hands alone. It was barren. Feala winced in pain. Something had tipped her over the edge, causing it to happen all over again.

Hi Sierra. Just passing by and saw your interesting, fun intro. I'm new here myself and still navigating the set up. Hope you settle in quickly and produce some great shared work Laertes :)
I'm very much a newbie here. If you enjoy layered characters and scenarios or stories that feel like lived-in memories, I know we'll get along. My preference is for slow-burn, seething romance with big pay-offs but also enjoy fulfilling urgent needs, in any realm although preference for slice-of-life.

I see myself in characters who are givers, the joy you experience becomes mine.
In that way our joys have no limits. I'm happy to adjust within reason to your practical needs so RPs may go on forever or be sporadic over time.

Feel free to drop by anytime, I will also respond to messages.

Hello Sierra and welcome to E!  I always found it a nice home away from home and my experience on here positive.  It is a nice place to write, grow, and explore.  I know I did.

Since staff already hit you up with one in depth question I thought I would keep it light.

What is your favorite Crumble Cookie and how would you sway someone to make it their favorite too?

Hello, no problem. Thank you for having me. It's nice to meet you too. To answer your question, worst trait first, I tend to overly complicate plots involving my characters trying to achieve those oh so wonderful plot twists. The writing sample I put up there is from a story where I had so many twists going I felt burned out my own self. In some cases, simple is always better. I feel my best would be my creativity and consistency to my characters.

Hey Laertes, I love that name. Pretty sure I'm not pronouncing it in my head right but I like how it is spelled. Perfect name for a character. How do you say it? From one newbie to another, welcome! Thank you for dropping by. I hope the same for you as well. Come by any time :)

Laertes

Hey and thanks - you too, come by any time...you never know we may get some good plot-twisty stories going!

Laertes is from Hamlet. He's Ophelia's brother. And it's pronounced: Lay-air-tees.

Hope you're getting to grips with the site. Best wishes,

Laertes :))

Hiii! Thank you!

My favorite Crumbl cookie is actually not one of the cookies, instead, it is the cinnamon square. I have had a lot of those when they came out. They also had the maple cinnamon squares too. Swaying someone to make it their favorite too? That's a good question. Well, hopefully this person likes cinnamon otherwise that is a no go. I suppose I would buy it for them to try because who doesn't like free food? Probably use my meager powers of persuasion lol.

Right!

Oh. I don’t know anything about Hamlet, sad to say. But I was saying it like Layer-tez lol. I've been navigating around a bit, taking my time. Thank you!

Hello Sierra! Welcome to E and good luck on your approval process!

If you could only pick one book (or genre if one book is too hard) to read for the rest of your life, which book/genre would it be and why?
Story Status: Tentatively open for 1-2 more

Hi HaveStoryWillTravel, thank you so much.

I definitely can't pick one book. Genre would be fantasy. There's always a story to be read with it which can include other snippets. Truthfully, I've always loved fantasy. It's been my go to when needing to get lost in a fantastical world. Also, I get inspired to write my own tales because of it.

Now I want a cinnamon square!  Thanks for answering Sierra and bast of luck to you.

You and me both. Wish Crumbl would just add it to everyday menu like the chocolate chip cookie. No problem. Thank you!

Radiant

Sierra,

Good luck on your approval! I must ask, what is your favorite book series and why would you recommend reading it?

Sierra

Hey Radiant, how's it going? Thank you. You as well!
I discovered the Mead Mishaps series by Kimberly Lemming. There's three of them. That Time I Got Drunk and Saved a Demon, That Time I Got Drunk and Yeeted a Love Potion at a Werewolf, and That Time I Got Drunk and Saved a Human. The names say it all but they are hilarious. I won't say that there aren't things that annoy me. Sometimes I just want to read a book and turn my real life thoughts off so the Mead Mishaps series are just the thing. If you like comedy, by all means, please read them.
