Seeking Character-Driven Sci-Fi and Fantasy Stories (FxM or MxM)

Greetings! Welcome to my humble search thread.

My name's Max :) I'll try to keep this short and sweet.

A few important details:

• third person past tense pov only
• I only play female characters in FxM pairings
• you're welcome to use face claims and/or picture references. I personally don't like using them for my characters
• please use quotation marks around dialogue. bold or colored text is fine, as long as the colors are easy to see
• communication is key! if something isn't working for you or you'd like to change things up, let me know!
• I generally prefer to rp over the forums but I'm fine with Discord or pm's as well
• all characters involved in sexual or romantic situations will be 25 or older. this is non-negotiable.

I'm on the site pretty much every day, and do my best to post at least once a week. Sometimes it's more, often it's less. I would prefer that my partner maintain this rate as well. Obviously real life comes first and I am very patient, but I do have adhd and if it regularly takes two weeks or more to get posts up, I'm probably going to lose interest.

In general I prefer shorter posts. Intros and descriptive scenes will naturally be longer, and obviously post length will fluctuate depending on the pacing of the scene, but I tend to stick to around 3 - 5 paragraphs that keep the story moving. Pages of purple prose don't really do much for me. That said, I will try to match my partner for post length :)

As the title implies, my preferred genres are fantasy and sci-fi with some historical fiction, supernatural, and horror as well. I have to give a hard pass to standard modern and slice-of-life stories, but I'm open to pretty much anything else :)

Also please have a sense of humor. I love silliness, snark, sarcasm, etc; anything too dark and depressing is going to lose my interest fast. Bleakness and drama have their place for sure but I find it hits more effectively when the story isn't drowning in it.

Generally speaking, I prefer to write stories that with strong plots and characters that happen to include smut. However, I find the ratio will often vary depending on the story in question, and you'll find down below that I have a number of smut-oriented story ideas listed. As long as there's context around the smut, I'm fine :)

That said! I'm not interested in writing stories that focus heavily on a specific fetish or kink. I'm more than happy to include fetishes and kinks (assuming they're not on my Off's list) but I prefer to restrict it to sex scenes.

A few pairing ideas that I like but don't have plots for yet. Could be good for short scenes or stories to see if our writing is compatible, but could definitely be expanded into longer stories.

Elder Scrolls - Sword and Sorcery**
[Companion/Fighter's Guild x Winterhold Mage/Mage's Guild]

This can take place in either Skyrim or Cyrodiil :)

The mage has a task to perform for the College of Winterhold/Mage's Guild, which calls for trekking across the country and delving into dangerous ruins. But the mage is no combatant. So he/she hires a member of the Companions/Fighter's Guild, a brave warrior to escort and protect him/her on this journey.

I think this could be a fun long-term slowburn story about the two falling for each other over the course of the journey. The Mage can be impressed by and drawn to the Warrior's bravery and strength, while the Warrior is tempted by an unfamiliar gentle softness. The exact sort of shenanigans they get up to are up for deliberation :)


What is a God?
[medieval fantasy, sci-fi]
[villager x "god"]

A quiet little mountain village has been caught up in the war between two kingdoms. The villagers are desperate for protection from the conflict, and who better to turn to than the forest god they've been worshiping for as long as living memory? Neighbors turn on each other in dark times, and Character A is chosen to act as a live sacrifice to the god. Her family tries to defend her, perhaps hoping to reason with their neighbors, and are slain for their efforts. A is bound and left as an offering to the god.

What the villagers don't know, however, is that Character B, the being that lurks in the mountain forest, has been quietly in love with A from afar for years. B is enraged by the way A is treated, and exacts revenge against the villagers for A's favor.

B is no god, but they will deliver the wrath of one.

What exactly B is is up for discussion. Could be some sort of powerful nature spirit, or a demon, or a humanoid monster, or even an alien if we want to take a sci-fi twist on it.

Where the story goes from there is tbd :)


 The Champion's Prize**
[medieval fantasy, sci-fi]
[willing slave x reluctant master]

Character A has been forced to fight for his life in a horrific combat arena, and by the skin of his teeth has managed to claim victory and secure the prize riches and, more importantly, his freedom. But along with the riches and title of Champion come a reward he hadn't expected and doesn't want; a slave.

Character B was never meant for the combat arena, but forced into slavery to fuck and tend to the combatants. When she's offered to A as a prize, she sees it as her best chance at escaping this hell and maybe finding her way back home. Better to be stuck with one reluctant master than an ever-rotating gang of horny barbarians, right?


Onward to Adventure!**
[medieval fantasy, Golden Age of Piracy but make it fantasy]
[scholar x ship captain]

Character A is a scholar and respected professor at a fantasy university. She frequently ventures off on expeditions to find long-lost magical artifacts, books of forgotten knowledge, ancient legends, and all that sort of thing. She hires Character B, an adventuring sailor and ship captain, to ferry her to far-flung locations of mystery and mayhem. Adventure awaits!

I picture this taking place in world similar to DnD, full of magic and fantasy races, powerful wizards and brave heroes and whatnot. Lots of world-building to be done! This one is very open to funny, sexy shenanigans, and can be as kinky or as wholesome as we'd like.


A Long Way Home**
[medieval high fantasy]
[enemies to lovers, slow burn]

A lone adventurer gets lost in the savage wilderness, or perhaps deep underground, or in ancient ruins. The adventurer was badly injured by monsters or bandits and isn't expecting to survive. However, they come across a demon that's been trapped for ages, perhaps bound to some sort of relic and abandoned. The demon can save the adventurer's life, in exchange for delivery to somewhere less isolated.

Perhaps the two, lacking proper knowledge in binding magic, accidentally bind themselves together in a way they can't undo on their own. Loads of world-building awaits!


W31RD
[modern]
[enemies/rivals to lovers, lighthearted]

Our characters are college classmates or coworkers, and from the first moment they met they've hated each other. Always competing over grades, the attention of mutual friends and colleagues - awards, you name it, they've fought over it.

But what they don't know is that they have one thing in common; a love for an extremely popular MMORPG called W31RD. When they encounter each other by chance in-game, neither of them has reason to suspect it's their beloathed on the other side of the screen. And in the game, they get along fabulously.

I'm imagining we'd go back and forth between scenes taking place in the real world for these two where they're snarky and rude to each other and competing over nonsense, and scenes in the fantasy or sci-fi world of W31RD where they work together on video game quests and missions and whatnot. Until, perhaps, they eventually decide to meet in real life? :)


Desperate Measures
[modern, medieval fantasy]
[vampire x vampire hunter, enemies to lovers]

I don't have anything really specific in terms of a plot for this one but I like the pairing a lot, haha. I'm picturing a vampire hunter who has been hunting a particular vampire for a long time, with the vampire always managing to escape at the last minute. And the vampire, sick and tired of being hunted, desperate to get the hunter off their back... bites the hunter, and turns them into a familiar. A servant of the undead. And the two would have to evade other vampires and hunters while figuring out how to either undo what's been done... or live with the consequences. (And maybe fall in love along the way!)
