A lot of my games are dead or dying and I need something new. I enjoyed this the first time around so I'll give it another shot.

Distinguishing Features: Layla has a scar over her right eye, from a wayward hex that was thrown at her at Hogwarts, because of what she is. She also has a werewolf bite scar on her left shoulder, which she acquired when she was seven years old.

History: Layla was born in Limerick, Ireland, to a witch named Annie Kanine (nee Kleihn) and a wizard named Alphonse Kanine. Things were good for the trio, until the day after Layla’s Seventh birthday, when she was bitten by a werewolf. Knowing that they now had a half-breed for a child, Alphonse and Annie decided to leave Ireland, and found a nice new home in Chicago, Illinois.

There, together with the aid of the Wolfsbane Potion, they were able to help their daughter through her transformations, at least until she was old enough to go to school. Knowing that they couldn’t send her to a normal school, they found a school of magic, a school called the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. They of course, had to declare to the Headmaster and deputy headmistress that their daughter was a werewolf, but promised that every month, as long as they were still around, they would send the ingredients to make the Wolfsbane potion.

Layla graduated Hogwarts in the year of 2002, but due to her own beliefs of the prejudices of Werewolves, she didn’t go to work in the Magical Industry, instead she went to work in the Muggle Industry, which is where she currently works.

Description: Born of an English father and a Filipino mother, Alexis was destined to be short, but certainly has inherited her paternal genes for having a lusciously curvaceous figure. Dark eyes seem to catch on to everything, while her hair will take on the hue of whatever she decides to dye it that week (usually black or blonde). She is short of stature, only coming up to 5'2" tall, but what she lacks in height she more than makes up for in attitude.

Distinguishing Features: There is a small, dark mole on her right cheek.

History: Newark in the year 1998 wasn’t the greatest place in the world to live. There weren't a lot of choices for people as far as how their life would be lived. Rarely it was that someone would find a way to make it out of the ghettos and mean streets to make something of themselves.

Of course, then there were mages.

Alexis was born of magical parents who were idealistic. Deciding to go to a tough and dirty city with hopes of making life better for those that lived there. Of course while it is always noble to try, it requires tons of work for very little (if any) gain. And while Diane and Marcus Santiago were of the right mind when they started, it was a constant uphill battle.

Still, they had money and means, as well as magic (though they were always very careful around no-maj’s). They cleaned up their neighborhood very well, and were loved by their neighbors as well. So it was when Alexis was born of the Filipino father and Caucasian mother, she was pretty well taken care of while at home...even when her parents were out helping the neighborhood.

When she was finally of age, Alexis went off to Ilvermorny. She advanced well in her classes, and was even approached by a representative of MACUSA. Starting as an intern, Alexis worked hard and learned as much as she could. It is now that she has finally (and very recently) joined the ranks of the Aurors.

The case that got her within the Aurors was against her own parents, believe it or not. Well, more FOR them than against them. Not everyone in Newark was happy about a couple of upstarts making life difficult for those who would profit from others misery. A wizard named Baris Venteric had stock in a no-maj group that wanted the neighborhood, and attempted to force out the residents to buy the property for cheap, making way for a highrise (at least by New Jersey standards).

Using blatant magic, Baris framed Alexis’ family...seeming to not realize or care that their daughter was an intern at MACUSA. Alexis was able to clear her parents, using the Spell Contraventions Map. Baris’ belief that he was “too big to jail” had caused him to use magic outside the Santiago house...while they weren’t there.

Now she works as a full-on Auror, and loves every minute of it.

Description:   Moses is an impressive physical specimen. He's 6'8 naturally.. And that height is coupled with about 240lbs of solid muscle from a life of eating right, exercise, and self-defense as his family has always believed a strong body compliments a strong mind. And one should always be able to fight, even without their magic. His skin is a middling tone of brown, like the color of caramel. His eyes are a sharp hazel, and he has an award winning, pearly white smile. This is all subject to change on his whim however and height, weight, etc... can be altered whenever he feels like.

He goes back and forth between a low fade, and dreadlocks with the sides shaved down, and he keeps a well styled goatee. Orrrrr he could have a neon pink mohawk and fangs, or a pot belly and chubby cheeks. The benefits of being a Metamorphmagus is that he can look like basically anyone his mind can imagine. He does like his "normal" self though so more often than not people see him as him. Especially since his power isn't widely known. He tends to dress in dark colors, and likes his clothes to be fashionable, but able for him to quickly take action in them. What kind of Hit Wizard would he be if he got caught tripping over his own robes?

History: The Khufu family originated in Egypt during the time of the second Pharaoh of the same name, and are directly descended from them with familial records and copies magically protected and held in lockboxes kept at Gringott's and Gringott's Second Colonial. After the time of the Pharaoh's passed, the Khufu family remained in Egypt for a few more decades before the Patriarch at the time moved the entire family to England for better opportunities and access to European magic and knowledge. After settling in South London, the Khufu's have remained there until the present day, but still visit Egypt regularly and have their ancestral home for vacations and the like.

Twenty-Six years ago, Moses' parents were married and went to Egypt for their honeymoon. When they came back, they had wonderful news...they were expecting. With all the good the Khufu's had done for the wizarding world, many high profile witches and wizards were in attendance for the birth, and everyone was overjoyed when baby Moses came into the world. Just a few weeks after his birth, Moses' hair changed from black to bright red, then green, then blue, and back to black again while his mother fed him. Then he grew a dog muzzle before his face changed back to normal. All in the span of a few seconds. It was clear he was a Metamorphmagus, but how?

It surprised her of course, but after a talk with the infants grandparents, they found out that Pharaoh Khufu himself had been one, and his three times great grandmother had as well.  He grew up in Brixton for a few years;  But as his parents, uncle, and grandparents, essentially his entire family were Aurors, Hit Witches/Wizards, etc..., they made a lot of very dangerous enemies. So dangerous in fact that at nine years old, a vampire was sent after Moses to get at his parents, while Dark Wizards attacked them and other family members directly. Moses was almost killed, and this incident has scarred him so deeply he has an intense fear of the creatures to this day. He's still in therapy actually. That scare landed the family in the WPP[Wizarding Protection Program], and they were moved to Chicago for their own safety, where they quickly rebuilt their lives and were transferred from the Ministry of Magic to MACUSA.

From a very young age, the Khufu family taught Moses everything that they knew about magic. The reason being that the Khufu's had a reputation for producing powerful and influential members of the wizarding community through nurturing their family members from childhood. They wanted the same for Moses, and he absolutely adored all the learning he did as a young boy. Not only did it help immensely when he went to the Salem Institute, but them allowing him to actually practice his magic so young was a blast for the young boy.

When he was 11, he went to Salem and wasn't too surprised when he was sorted into Andover. After all, most members of his family had been Griffyndors when they went to school, and Andover was essentially the American equivalent. He quickly made a reputation for himself as something of a prankster, but an all around good guy with good values, leadership qualities, and a strong moral core. The ferry attack opened his eyes when it happened, and the studious young man threw himself even deeper into school. He was still the same Moses; but there seemed to be a renewed fire within him that drove him to push himself to be the very best. Quidditch. Quodpot. School. All of it.

Moses despite his seeming lackadaisical and jokey attitude pushed himself hard to make his family proud. He graduated top of his class, despite his more playful nature slipping through and causing some sort of scandal at the school now and then. His plan had always been to go into law enforcement like his parents and their parents before them. So it was no surprise when he began Auror training once he graduated. Since then, he has pushed himself as hard as he ever has, quickly rising through the ranks and leaving a trail of dark wizards in his path. Thanks to his Morphmagus powers, he is also sometimes used to go undercover and use his abilities for surveillance and other covert operations.

Physical Appearance

Description: 6'0, covered in tattoos with long mixed color hair that seems to dance between blond, red and brown with a beard that does much the same. Pale, almost piercing blue eyes stare out from the sun weathered tan skin. One piercing on his right ear and the right lobe of his nose, both simple metal hoops. Keeps himself in good fitness, muscular but more lean and athletic.

Distinguishing Features: Tattoos, piercings, beard, piercing stare and a small hint of an Irish accent.

Like much of his life, two different nationalities, two different walks of life and being as magical society would call half-blood he tends to be fairly private and suspect of new people but once warmed up and that trust is earned a more loyal friend could rarely be found. Untrusting but loyal to those few that earn it, emotionally reactive to matters that are close to his heart but otherwise seems distant or standoffish.

History: Born in Auroa, Illions to Katherine and Owen Matthews, however at the time of his birth his father was overseas in Belfast as the two of them had parted ways. Likely he would have been raised by his mother but she had suddenly vanished, without a trace or clue as to what happened. His father, not a man of great means but by no means struggling came to take his child with him.

His Father, Owen, as Finn would grow up and learn was also involved in what most of society would consider illegal activities. Running a pawn shop as the front for his illicit dealings, his father was a smuggler and a fence. Calling himself more of a fixer, he said it was just part of his shop in that if he didn't have it he could help people get what they needed. Attending regular school, Finn helped out around the shop after his studies but only at first stocking and cleaning. Owen though always seemed to keep a close eye on Finn, waiting for the day to see if like his ex wife, that his son would develop any of those abilities that she had. By all accounts he figured he was in the clean until Finn's 11th birthday, when even though he had shown no such abilities two letters came for him. Ilvermorny, his mother's alma mater and where she had been an instructor, as well as Hogwarts. In the last will and testimony left by Katherine before her disappearance she had left money for Finn should he be gifted to go to wizard school.

So he did and so he went to Hogwarts.

House Selection was something else as he watched people getting sorted Finn, he was more amazed as his first experience with magic was happening all around him and didn't have a single clue where or who he might end up with as his house. The hat once put on his head seemed to puzzle over it too. "Loyal and steadfast, yet plenty of bravery...a cunning sort though aren't you. Looks like you'll have to be Slthyerin!"

The next seven years were full of surprises and wild. Finn had always been even tempered, never losing his cool or seemingly shaken. The new environment however was something that certainly threw him off any measure of control he thought he did have. He wasn't by any means a genius wizard and had to work hard at his studies to keep up. Of the classes he was skilled in were two that resonated with him the most; Potions and Herbology. The other major discovery came about in his first year. When he lost his temper and to everyone's surprise his appearance changed. His hair had turned red and orange like a burning flame and his eyes golden as lashed out back at the kid from his house that had insulted his family. Detention and points taken, he would learn that he was a Metamorphmagus. A brief foray into his history didn't reveal whom he had gotten it from, though it certainly wasn't his father and it had to have been based genetically. His life in school however, he was clearly taking up after his father as he grew more familiar with magic and just what you could do with it in making "backroom deals".

Skipping ahead to graduation, he stayed with his father for a time even in spite of knowing magic just appeared to live a mundane sort of life on the surface. Good with his hands, he took up learning a bit about mechanics, fixing up his father's old beater car and doing odd jobs and the like. Behind the scenes though he kept in contact with others he had gone to school with and like his father, becoming a bit of a fixer. Once he got his legs under him, he opted to return to the States. The mystery of what happened to his mother was still unsolved and it didn't seem anyone else but him even cared, his father did but given the realm of magic he didn't have any insights.

Using his contacts, he got a small little set up and began the hunt. Years passed with no results beyond him carving out a rather comfortable sort of niche for himself. He tended to be very careful in his dealings and only worked with those trusted sources, if a new client was needing something, he would only sell it to the one that recommended them. Only after a time or after vetting them would he potentially deal with them first hand. Not that his method was fool proof, but he also didn't deal with highly illegal items.

Character Goals:Learn the truth about what happened to his mother. In spite of his own deeds and dealings, get his father out of the life.

Character Metrics In great shape / practices free running, skilled in defense arts and Occlumency and still extremely at adept herbalism and his potion craft. Understands the NoMag world and the technology that is used there, along with being a natural handy man while also able from his past if given time, resources and the right tools to work on motorized vehicles. As he is a Metamorphmagus, his cool control over his emotions don't tend to reveal it. That said, there are times the careful observer would be able to note that his tattoo's have changed. Nor has he as of this moment done any great changes to himself through that gift, even after all the years of being part of the magical world.
