Snipers work - although I'd recommend making sure they have at least some options to be up-close in case things are a little hemmed in at times.

Very much so. Quick summary of the character was a contract assassin who generally took on supers. Gotta be prepared for just about anything. Tends to get you on the wrong side of the law, though. Sniping might be his predominant focus, but can't always just kill from a distance, after all.

Definitely sounds like the kind of concept that would work here as long as they haven't murdered so many that they'd just be killed when captured.

I have two ideas rumblin' around my head for this game concept.

1: Line of sight teleporter, branding herself as a flamboyant overconfident thief. Made the mistake of escalating from jewelry stores and small banks to corp executive's homes and workplaces, and probably got flashbang'd or tear gas'd while grandstanding/showing off.

2: The less 'fun' and more 'grim' one, touch-based biokinetic similar to Panacea of the Parahumans series. Starting out poor giving free medical care to her fellow orphans and the needy, and got caught due to stepping on the toes of medical corps/hospitals. Why, that's not free medical care, that's definitely 'illegal medical experimentation' on hundreds of people, what a monster, also stop hurting our bottom line by trying to heal people who would normally buy our drugs go to jail you monster.

I really like the idea of big corporations being the ones to go "No no, we don't like this, you go to jail now because we said so" if you couldn't tell. Both powersets feel really useful, but not too overpowered. Teleporters (even when limited to LoS) are always useful, and having a medic that doubles as someone who can sedate/capture people with skin contact is definitely worth capturing rather than killing. Limit the latter concept to being unable to heal self, or have a tamper-proof bomb collar on her, and now she can't just cheat her way out of the premise.

Both concepts seem workable although I'd argue the second might need a little more 'edge' injected to them in terms of willingness to inflict some harm since that will largely be the goal most of the time. I don't mind people who were wrongfully jailed but they can't be too morally good or they wouldn't be capable of going on the missions without going insane.

The implication was a sliding slope of disillusionment with corps/police/the legal system due to the bullshit circumstances of number 2's arrest, leading to much more willingness to use the negative side of her abilities. But yeah, they're just off the top of my head ideas while this is still just in Interest Check mode.

This game is now recruiting. The first post has been updated with a character creation segment including CS code. I would like all CS's sent in by Sunday 14/03/21 after which I will select 4-5 depending on how much interest there is.

If it reaches 14/03/21 and a few CS's are nearly done but not yet I may extend by a day or two.

PM CS's to me just because helping out with any issues in public tends to feel a bit awkward and get messy if I'm trying to help with several at once. Definitely worthwhile to share face claim choices, powersets, and general backgrounds here if you like just so others know what's being worked on.

As a general note for everyone remember I'll be taking 4-5 CS's so depending on how many I receive not everyone can be accepted.

My cannibal(Michael B. Jordan for the crocodile scars) is a Haitian Voodoo Priest and primarily water based criminal who is bonded to a Loa spirit, which lets him turn into a giant crocodile man and talk to ghosts. The corrupting influence of the spirit is why he's such a fucked up individual and has a craving for flesh, but he needs the bond to live so he just deals with it...and eats people. C'est la vie. -shrug-

Pretty much a 'kitchen sink' situation with powers. Whatever you want as an origin story within reason.

Sun said in the info post that people started getting powers around the 40's(WW2) and soon the world was filled with them. And that genetic testing, magic, aliens, etc... was all pretty much fair game. So you could be born with them, be experimented on by the government, abducted by aliens, etc... It's  your imagination that sets it up basically.

Technically people/entities had powers prior to WWII that was just the major event that really brought lots of them into the public eye. In theory, I'm not strongly anti older characters but they do tend to present more potential issues so probably shying away from 100+ year olds is good.
