Name: Patricia Nightingale a.k.a. Revenant
Gender: Female (Posing as male in alternate ID)
Age: 28
Nationality (Race if a Magical Creature): American

Sexual Preferences: Lesbian

Physical description (picture if applicable):

Height: 5’6” (5’9” as revenant)
    Weight: 110 lbs.
    Skin color: Pale
    Hair color: Blonde
    Eye color: Ble

Personality: Patricia exudes the aura of the spoiled, rich, ne'er do well; a member of the privileged class enjoying her privileges. Her interest in current affairs is limited to the latest fashion and politics only means the juiciest gossip. She seems constantly bored and her conversation is shallow and vapid.

However, this is not the real Patricia Nightingale. The real Patricia emerges when she dons the black sweater, leather vest and mask of the avenging creature of the night known as Revenant. Revenant is a thing of darkness, violence and death with no mercy to the wicked. Revenant is the Patricia that has come through death and seen the evil in the world and outside of it and will do whatever it takes to keep that evil at bay, never allowing it to gain a foothold in this world

Quirks: Hides gender allowing everyone to think Revenant is a man. Puts on a false front as Patricia.
Likes/dislikes: Likes justice, stopping cultists and crooks, good steak, beautiful women. Dislikes having to put on an act and not let anyone near her. (Also hates criminals, cultists and anyone who would hurt innocents.)
Strengths/weaknesses: Scientific genius, expert hand-to-hand combatant with martial arts training. She also has a keen, deductive mind and is familiar with the latest advances in criminology. Her athletic training keeps her in peak physical condition, able to overcome most obstacles in her way. Her weaknesses are those of any normal human, plus she has to keep her identity as the Revenant secret from even those closest to her.

Weapons: She carries a Colt .45 M1911 on her belt along with a number of useful tools and gadgets of her own design in the packets on her belt. Her goggles allow her to see in all but the darkest of conditions and the leather vest and helmet have been reinforced to provide protection from most knives and even small caliber pistols. She also has access to heavier weapons and esoteric equipment, carrying some in her super-charged Auburn sports car.

Short Bio: Patricia Nightingale grew up in a wealthy family, the heir to a great shipping empire so she never really knew the same hardships that others in the United States felt in the grip of the Great Depression. However, the Nightingales did what they could for their employees and the members of the Massachusetts community they lived in. Patricia’s parents were determined that she would not grow up to be spoiled and lazy so they encouraged her to study, engage in sport and other physical activities and volunteer in the community. A local criminal gang, however, had designs on the Nightingales’ wealth. They also were believers in an ancient cult worshiping a god that promised them great power if they would perform heinous acts. One night, the gang/cult entered the Nightingales’ mansion, tied the family and performed horrific blood sacrifices to their dark god and helped themselves to a great deal of worldly wealth. They left, believing everyone to be dead, then set the house on fire. Patricia, although badly wounded, managed to get out of the house just in time. She sought refuge at a nearby friend’s house and they nursed her back to health. Then, she disappeared. She traveled the world, learning ancient martial arts and many other skills she would need to exact her revenge. After a few years, Patricia reappeared in the public eye and assumed full ownership of her family’s shipping company, explaining her survival with a story of her being on an extended trip around the world. Shortly after her return, she first donned the outfit of the Revenant and began to track down the men who killed her parents. That trail recently led towards England, so Patricia relocated to London under the pretense that she wished to direct the operations of her company from there. However, it was not long after she arrived that the dark shadow of the Revenant loomed over the London underworld and the criminals who felt no fear of the police, now knew fear of the Revenant.

If you still have a slot or two, I'm possible interested. Your game idea is very close to a Call of Cthulhu tabletop game I was involved in, and I just might have a character that'd work with this.

Gotcha! I have a folk magician with some natural world knowledge and a penchant for inspiring sidekicks. Let me know if this works, it's a stripped down version of my character from said campaign. She basically was the lore hoarder/magic caster while everyone fought and did the social stuff. How she gets to the Society is up to the GM's discretion, but you can safely assume she'll follow an invite if mailed.

Name: Regina Thomspon
Gender: Female
Age: 48
Nationality: American
Sexual Preferences: Heterosexual

Physical Description: Regina is a curvy woman of average height in her later 40s, with wrinkles just starting to show. She has long hair in dreadlocks, a few of them strung with colored beads. She’s typically dressed in a simple buttoned shirt, long shapely sweeping skirts, crowned with a neat apron of a dark color. She looks out of place and of time.

Height: 5’ 6”
Weight: 145 lbs
Skin Color: Dark brown
Hair Color: Black
Eye Color: Brown

Personality: Regina is very kind, wise and insightful. She may not be not be a brilliant mastermind, but she has the knack to be one’s sidekick. She’s there for moral support and to lend a helping hand the best she can. The woman may not know how to fix an elevator, but by golly she’ll be there in the shaft handing you tools and chatting with you.

She’s very generous despite not owning a lot, and will act as a listening ear to those especially younger than her. The old adage “She’ll give you the shirt off her back” applies. She’ll typically let someone else take the lead, unless she knows its something she’s clearly capable of.

The woman has a little bit of flirt and charm, and will use those traits as morale boosters. These traits are a byproduct of her entertainer background, and need an outlet somewhere.

Quirks: Regina hands out a lot of physical affections, such as nudges in the right directions or taps on the shoulder for a job well done. More familiar faces she is a little clingy, hiding behind them and hanging onto arms or shirt cuffs. In less perilous times, those said faces get a head over their shoulders, often with headpats or a light hug.

Regina’s fashion also gets her stares and usually gets in the way of daily life in the 1930s. While they are a catalyst to some of her magical abilities and provides light protection against such attacks, she’s grown accustomed to her getup despite it’s own set of quirks and hindrances (climbing, running sneaking around, etc). They’re an essential part to who she is, and she won’t part with them unless it’s absolutely necessary (dressing up for a social event, downtime, etc).

She tends to make herself an attractive spectacle, typically around colleagues for inspiration. Regina’s the woman who’ll park herself on a desk with hiked skirts, or discreetly undo a button or two when sitting close. If it improves someone’s morale, so be it.

Likes/Dislikes:
Likes - Baked goods (specifically blueberry pie), obscure tales and temperate climates.
Dislikes - Cold and snow, insects and putting on a face for high society.

Strengths/weaknesses:
Strengths
* She’s observant, lore smart and willing to do the bookwork to get the knowledge that’s needed. Her knowledge of some magic arts is useful, which can help others in supporting roles. Her background allows her to know some natural medicine, and to bandage most injuries up.

* Some of her magical abilities include a meditation ritual to boost her or someone else’s action, “seer stones” as a trip alarm, and magic imbued with her dancing to seal or summon natural entities.

-
Weaknesses
* Regina is not a fighter. While she may snap a shotgun at the Horned Thing with No Name back home, it’s not her go-to action She’ll flee danger and seek help, or cover when the weapons are drawn. This does leave her vulnerable and an easy target. She’s also a bit too trusting, which can lead her into getting tricked or deceived.

* Regina also has an irrational fear of the dark; relating to a past experience in which the void has stared back at her. She requires light or handholding in such situations (Example, a city street at night is no problem, but sending her into the basement is).

Weapons: The closest thing Regina carries to a weapon is a large hunting knife fashioned out of an iron meteorite. This is less of a weapon and more of a catalyst while putting together magical rituals, but it will do magical damage to those it inflicts damage on. This is often tied at her waist in her apron ties, but can be hidden on her thigh in her skirts if needed to be concealed.

She’s clumsy with a pistol at best, and more at home with a double barrel or pump-action shotgun. She’ll do her best to offer supporting fire if handed a weapon, but it’s not a primary skill of hers.

Short Bio:
Spoiler: Click to Show/Hide
Regina grew up in the mountains of the Appalachians of North Carolina in the early 1900s. There were hardships as she reached adulthood, simply resigning to her fate to inhabit the family home while subsisting off the land. But fate would call to her in 1912.

A strange woman approached her one day, offering her wealth, magic and knowledge of the world if she became her follower.  She looked out of place and time, but had a great wealth of the natural world around her.

Regina took up this offer in a heartbeat, becoming the woman’s successor of her arts. The magic taught to her was positive folk magic, which was tied to storytelling, simple spells and dancing (clogging). There was truth behind “There’s magic in them hills”, and Regina became the next in line to carry the woman’s legacy.

Without warning her mentor vanished when she was 40, leaving her with her possessions and knowledge behind. As she started to dig, Regina found out there was definitely a dark side to the world; something banjo music, rosemary and clogging couldn’t fix. And it seemed they were around for centuries, even more. The world would have no place for the magical dancing aunt her mentor taught her to be.

She began to travel the country, digging up lore the best she could on the mystical beasts. The things that drove those to despair, and actually cause harm to those who wandered too far into the wilds. They were called giants, shadow people, shapeshifters, and all had a trait. Regina began to learn some of the arts to banish these creatures, or at least to teach others how to fight them.

That said, there was still merit behind what her mentor taught her. A good sect of these beasts were repelled by positivity, and would starve off into the night. Regina was getting antsy and frisky at this point of time due to her age, and came to a conclusion; if her desires and mannerisms help those around her, Regina will dedicate herself to the cause. It’s seen enough hurt and darkness already.

Your character is approved, you can post the CS in the Characters Thread. Here is a link to the game's board: https://elliquiy.com/forums/index.php?board=695.0

I will need several days to tag you though, I am a bit currently short on time, but you can use the time to read through and get acquainted.

Feel free to socialize in the OOC thread and if you use discord, we also have a channel, though I make all major announcements in both places.

Anyway, welcome!

Janeilbennett

That's certainly fine with me, thanks for the acceptance. I'll read through and check out some of the stuff in the meantime. I'll go ahead and post my character over in the board.

Can you PM me the link to the Discord? I don't mind taking a gander.

Thanks!

TheGlyphstone

Starting to get the RP itch again and I've been keeping my eye out for a LoEG type game. How would a wandering musician with a golden fiddle fit in with the current cast/story?

TheGlyphstone

#163
Name:John Williams
Gender: Male
Age: 72
Nationality (Race if a Magical Creature): American

Sexual Preferences: Heterosexual

Physical description (picture if applicable): Has the perpetually youthful appearance of a 24-year old man. Dresses in loose, casual clothing with long sleeves whenever possible, to hide the scarring that covers his left forearm.

Height: 5'10"
Weight: 190 lbs
Skin color: Pale
Hair color: Black
Eye color: Blue

Personality: John has a grim, almost fatalistic view of existence that he hides behind a sardonic wit and an 'aw-shucks' young man's smile. He is quick to indulge in whatever vice or indulgences he might find that seem new or interesting, always searching for the next distraction from his cursed existence. He places very little value on the lives or livelihood of strangers, but will defend something or someone he has grown attached to with savage resolve and a complete disregard for his own well-being.

Quirks: He has a sneering disdain for faith and religion of any kind, along with those who follow it.
Likes/dislikes: Drugs, liquor, sex, music
Strengths/weaknesses:
Immortality - Rejected by Heaven and spurned by Hell, John cannot truly die. His body will heal from almost any wound given enough time, even fatal ones, though more severe injuries take increasingly long to heal.

The Fiddle

Made of seemingly pure gold, down to the strings, this hell-forged instrument feels and behaves as if it were made of wood and catgut. While not truly intelligent, it has a primal, bestial hunger for blood and souls along with a preternatural ability to return to its true owner if lost or stolen. Its bow must be rosined with fresh blood, but with it in his hands John can play music that magically influences the emotions of his targets within hearing. Passion, fear, rage, and despair are the easiest tunes for him to channel, though he can also instill more beneficial or positive feelings if he wishes.

Mortal Frame - John's body is forever frozen as the 24-year old man he was when he took the bet, limiting his strength and resilience to that of a normal human.

Hearts and Minds - The music of the Fiddle can only fully affect living beings and animals. Angelic and demonic entities, along with people carrying their blood, have an innate resistance to its influence. Unintelligent threats such as mindless undead or animated constructs are entirely immune to its power.

Weapons:
John carries a .38 Smith & Wesson revolver in a hip holster, with a Bowie knife sheathed on the opposite side. He is proficient with both weapons, though he considers them to be backups to be employed in close quarters or when the Fiddle cannot be brought to bear.

Short Bio:
Everyone knows the story, how the Devil went down to Georgia, and wagered his fiddle of gold against a young boy's soul in a fiddling contest. But while Johnny triumphed over the devil that day, his life after that moment was forever changed. He had made a deal with the devil due to his pride, damning his soul for eternity. But Satan would not accept him into Hell, humiliated by his defeat at Johnny's hands. This left him adrift, forever youthful and forced to live a nomadic life away from anyone who might notice his unaging nature. Similarly, the golden fiddle he had won proved to be a poisonous gift, its demonic nature constantly needling him towards darkness. Driven from his home by the devastation of war, he wandered the world in search of purpose. His will kept the fiddle's influence at bay, though from time to time he would cross paths with a truly evil person and allow it to consume them.

Just checking in that this is still an active and recruiting game. From seeing a post today I assume it is, however I hate to ASSume.

And, if it is, any particular PC type you may be looking for? I almost always play a Male, but am open to almost anything after that, the darker, the better.

Thank you!

TheGrandAdmiral

Yes, it is open to new players.

Well, there is no particular search for type, whatever the player decides.

Well, the players give me a lot to work with and we are having fun, so it makes it easy to keep it alive for this long.

For your consideration. Not Original, but I think it fits the Genre well and can add value to the story:

CS not a good fit for this game. Thank you for your time!

Name: Charles Lindbergh (The Lone Eagle)
Gender: Male
Age: 28 (Born February 4, 1902)
Nationality (Race if a Magical Creature):American

Sexual Preferences: Pansexual, female leaning

Physical description (picture if applicable): Charles is tall and slender with a distinctly typical American look. Handsome by most standards but not overly so. He is a stereotypical Blond-hair, blue eyed American Male.

Height: 6' 3” (1.91 m)
Weight: 182# (82.5 Kg)
Skin color: Tawny
Hair color: Blonde
Eye color: Blue

Personality: Charles is an Introvert, reserved and withdrawn, he does not make friends easily. His ONE true love is the new field of aviation. Secretly he is a sexual deviant and will fuck or suck almost anyone provided he won't get caught. In public he is kind but shy and seldom will greet anyone first. In private he is a Dominant leaning switch, but only bottoms for women.

Quirks: He is a staunch conservationist and believed animals and plants are doomed by humanoids.
Likes/dislikes: His one great love is flying. Charles has a strong dislike for anyone not a 'blond hair-blue eye American'

Strengths/weaknesses: His intelligence and stamina is his best strengths while his physical body, tall, lanky frame and lack of physical strength is his largest weakness.

Weapons: Proficient with handguns but seldom uses one. Not the best shot.

Short Bio: Born in Detroit on February 4, 1902, Charles is an American aviator and military officer. Lindbergh was raised mostly in Little Falls, Minnesota, and Washington, D.C., the son of prominent U.S. Congressman Charles August Lindbergh. He became a U.S. Army Air Service cadet in 1924, earning the rank of second lieutenant in 1925. He loved to fly and on May 20–21, 1927, he made the first nonstop flight from New York City to Paris, a distance of 3,600 miles in his plane, the Spirit of St. Louis. His solo flight took 33.5 hours. For his flight, President Calvin Coolidge presented Lindbergh both the Distinguished Flying Cross and Medal of Honor, the highest U.S. military award.

Charles has a net worth of around $20 million USD and uses his wealth and influence to support his sexual perversions. When there is no one willing to accommodate his rough sex and pain kinks he will hire prostitutes to fill his needs.

He is also a racist and was believed to be a Nazi, a claim that was false, even though he is anti-Semitic.

TheGrandAdmiral

I am sorry it did not work out, but thank you for the interest and the effort!
