Marvel's Secret Avengers [Interest Check]

Inside the positively palatial penthouse he was now calling home, Morgan Stark stared out the window at New York after dark. Imagining all the deals going down, the affairs hidden in hotels, the secrets. So many secrets. Stark raised his glass to his lip but a sharp cough kept him from taking a drink. 

“Sorry to interrupt your wool gathering, Stark,” said the gruff one-eyed man sitting on the couch. “Just thought we could get business out of the way first.”

“Of course, Fury,” replied Morgan Stark. He took a sip as he made his way to a leather chair. Poor Tony, never being able to enjoy a good scotch again. Morgan winced a bit as he took a seat. The leg still bothered him but at least he was alive. And prospering. Thanks to the quagmire his cousin had created between his business, the Avengers, and the government, Morgan had managed to spin Stark Solutions into its own company. His company. And he was able to cut a deal with Qeng Enterprises that let him have the top three floors of Stark Tower in exchange for being able to keep the marketable name of the building that they owned. And that included the penthouse the two men were now in.

Fury cared little about Stark’s business except for how it could get him what he wanted. Maria Hill and the kid were running things at SHIELD. He had his own agenda to accomplish. One that could be managed better with some huge organization looking over his shoulder. But that required financial backing and he had found it in the form of Morgan Stark. The man spent years trying to replace his cousin Tony. Fury pitched him the idea that he should beat Tony at his own game. Start his own team. One more effective at getting the job done than a pack of celebrities living in a mansion ever could. Sure, Fury knew Morgan Stark would be up to something but it’s not like he didn’t have plans of his own.

“So the reacquisition of Hydro-Base was successful?” asked Fury.

“Indeed,” Stark replied. “Amazing how something like that just gets lost in red tape. Do you have the list  of potential candidates?”

Fury handed Stark a stack of files. He opened the first one one and scowled.

“Says she’s deceased.”

“She got over it,” Fury answered curtly. “Happens a lot in this business.”

“So these are my Avengers,” said Morgan Stark.

“Not quite,” Fury replied, a strange light in his one good eye. “These are…

The is an idea for a Secrets Avengers team, funded by Morgan Stark with Nick Fury providing intelligence and logistics. They will be an autonomous proactive black ops group, taking the fight to the bad guys using whatever tactics they can. Who will make up the team? I’m looking for canon characters with a bit of a stain of their white hats. Ones not afraid to get their hands dirty for the greater good. And of course if they have secrets of their own, that’s cool too. Not everything will be as it seems and the shades of gray can blur after awhile. The team thus far includes:

I’m not a stickler for continuity so feel free to tweak characters to suit you just as long as it's not to give them a symbiote, adamantium armor, and two Infinity Gauntlets. Questions, comments, concepts? Lemme hear ‘em.
