Let freedom reign. The sun shall never set on so glorious a human achievement.

Thread: Present, Future?

Personality:

History:

It is the year 3042. Technocrats from a company called Navanix Incorporated are attempting to take over the world. These people have solved what is arguably the biggest problem of humanity, our mortality. Their solution to sickness pain and death, is the creation of a GOLEM, or Gender-Oriented Living Essence Mechanism which functions as a manufactured body for those who are too old or infirm to use what nature has provided them. Someone can prolong their lives indefinitely at this point, but they have sacrificed their humanity in order to achieve this.

The problem is, Navanix wants to force everyone into a GOLEM, whether they agree to the procedure or not. Agreeing to the procedure means that you are subject to a program which controls your actions through the activation of pain and pleasure receptors.  GOLEM's are a shadow of what humanity used to be, but some people believe they are the future.

Not everyone is on board with the idea. A class of people called the Arcanican, want to offer their own unique type of immortality to the world, through the process of magics such as vampirism and lycanthropy offer another alternative to those who would live forever. Drink the blood of mortals or feast on their flesh and you can live practically forever if you can ultimately live with yourself for this decision.

Purists, people who do not believe in the use of magic or technology in order to prolong human life, are out there, and live together in isolated communes where they try and avoid the corruption of the world as much as possible.

Standing in the middle are the Godlings, those who have discovered a natural cure to mortality that seemingly does not involve the surrendering of humanity to technology or black magics. They share this secret with very few, only those who they find worthy of such knowledge, which is believed to be genetic engineering to stop the process which ultimately leads to the deteroritation and death of human cells. Short of total destruction of a Godling's body, they are immortal. They can and will live forever and they are the Gods of myths and legend.

Off in the sidelines are the Godlings, who are not only not interested in interfering, they are technically forbidden to do so. The Godlings are the only people who know how to time travel. They are forbidden to use such technology, but this made the technology that much more appealing. Rules are made to be broken, and eventually, someone used the forbidden technology to travel back in time to the year 2020 where it all started. Their goal, to stop magic and technology from ever emerging in the world in the first place.

The Arcanican also have a vested interest in keeping balance between the Technocrats and the Purists, needing human blood and meat in order to fuel their own immortality, and so they have risen up and taken control of the world, limiting the number of people who are allowed to have their brains transplated into GOLEM's.

Does anyone else like this idea? It needs a bit of fleshing out in order to make it come to life, but I am very excited about the premise and want to offer to do a Navanix game here on Elliquiy.

Available Player Concepts: Purists (Mundane Humans), Dystopian Blooddrinkers (Vampires),  Dystopian Shapeshifters (Werewolves),  Mutant Zombies (The Forsaken), Arcanicans (Magic Users), Advanced GOLEM's, Primitive GOLEM's,

You could potentially play an Assasin as well that would be a part of any one of these available races.

Not Available for Play: Members of the Board of Directors of Navanix Incorporated, Members of the Extremely Rare Race of Godlings (Psions), No Oldest Vampires in the World, No King of the Werewolves, No Advanced Magic Users

A Word About the Magic Users of Navanix. The Magic Users of Navanix are very low powered individuals. They have three abilities. Blink, the ability to move quickly to any location within their line of site. They have the ability of Knockback, which is basically the ability to push someone off of you with a burst of magical energy. The last power, Arcane Blast, is the ability to use magical energy to injure an opponent while healing yourself if you are injured and replenshing your magical energy. So basically, Arcane blast sends a burst of magical energy at an opponent, injuring the opponent, healing the Arcanican, and replenishing their magical reserves. These are the only abilities Arcanians have.

Vampires of Navanix are not the vampires of lore. They can walk in the sunlight, although they are less powerful during the day. They are not killed by a stake through the heart, they are killed by beheading, and by being sat on fire. They are also highly allergic to silver and too much of it in their blood system can kill them, just like werewolves.

Werewolves of Navanix turn directly into wolves. They have no wolfman form. They find silver extremely poisonous, and they are killed by beheading or by being sat on fire. To much silver in their bloodstream can also kill them.

There are two types of mutants, both having the same basic appearance. There are Sentient Mutants, and Mindless Mutants. They are both called the Forsaken. The Forsaken are basically mutant zombies.

Non Player Characters: Dollz: Genetically engineered 'Perfect younger women' who are stunningly beautiful, with pink hair, blue maid outfits, and mouths that have been stitched shut to prevent them from ever speaking, arguing or disagreeing with their owners. They cry tears of blood and not regular tears. If they act up, they may be punished by having their left eye melted or burned away. They refuse to help others, conditioned not to do so through their training. If they are ordered to do so, they will kill the enemies of their masters, because they know they will be beaten if they do not. If the Dollz are not totally and completely perfect they just burn them, not tolerating imperfection in their ranks whatsoever.

Lux: Mutant Dogs that are created to serve their masters, genetically engineered to be stronger, faster and more vicious than any ordinary dog would be. They are kept as pets by powerful members of Navanix Incorporated.

Edit: I have determined that since time travel is involved, there will be two threads for this game once it finally gets started. One will be in the year 2020, in the present. The other will be in 3042, the Future. You may make characters that fit in either time period.

I would suggest, that if you create an immortal race, such as a Blood Drinker, Shapeshifter, Mutant Zombie or Arcanican, that you make it a part of their history that they were alive in the year 2020, and that they survived up until the year 3042. Mundane Humans would be born in either time period, and will end up with chances to travel to the future or the past, as will the Immortal Races.

Additionally, I am adding in that Arcanican are immortal, feeding on the life essence of other beings through touch. This grants them the basic power of the succubus/incubus of legend and allows them to survive indefinitely.

Elven Sex Goddess

Looks promising.  A few questions.

Golems - Are they like D&D made of like clay or a synthetic substance and appear human like.   Or they more like say war-forged and/or androids?

Finally, you mention to distinct types,  advanced and primitive golems.    What is the differences between them?  Strengths and weaknesses for each also?

Mutants - you list two types sentient which implies they can reason and think for themselves.   Then you list forsaken, which are dissidents. Which you are listed as mutant zombies.  Through since others are sentient does this mean their not?

Assassin - You list them as like a separate race.   Is these individuals trained and/or given upgrades turning them into weapons thus assassins?  Or just someone that is assassin regardless of background as there is no central group that trains assassins, nor gives upgrades.

In Navanix, Golems are not like in DnD at all, they are androids. The primitive ones would look nothing like humans at all, and then they would progressively look more and more human until you get to the point where they are like perfect copies of human beings, and you can only tell they are not human if they are injured or taken apart or scanned with a scanner that would reveal them as a basic 'machine'

The primitive versions of Golems are weaker physically, as well as not looking anything like humans. They are easier to destroy with weapons such as guns, bombs, magic, etc...

Some of these next questions come from the fact I was slapping my ideas up here without carefully explaining them. I apologize for that and I will work to explain it a little better here. There are two types of Mutants. Both types are physically indistinguishable from each other. They are mutant zombies, that are either sentient or not sentient, which means they either have their minds intact and free will or they do not. They have to eat human flesh in order to survive, and as a bonus, if they eat brains, they get memories of the ones they have eaten the brains of, like in I Zombie. They were created by people taking supernatural DNA and attempting to create immortals through genetic editing or engineering. Additionally, they do not look human at all. They look like monsters. I have a picture of what I have in mind uploaded to imgur. I will find it and link it here momentarily.

I also apologize here, Dissidents, are seperate from the Forsaken (Mutant Zombies) Anyone can be a Dissident, a Dissident basically is a faction not a race, and these are people that do not want Navanix to rule. I need to fix that in the write up above as its not clear enough.

As far as Assasins go, every group has assassins, so this is really more of a character concept than a race. Navanix Incorporated has their assassins Golems and Augmented Humans. They are trained and given upgrades or augmentations turning them into weapons and thus assassins. The Purists have their assassins too. These would be Mundane Humans that use weapons that are approved by their faction to fight things they do not see or view as pure such as the demonic blood drinkers, shapeshifters, golems, and cyborgs. The magic users or Arcanican's have their assassins, that use basically use magic and imbued weapons to fight and kill things that the mages see as threats to their faction. The only race that really does not have Assasins is the Godlings. They stay out of politics to such a degree you are not going to see them send an assassin after someone.

I will be writing a little bit more about this after I get some coffee, but these are the basic answers to your questions. Ok the Forsaken, my Mutant Zombies, these attractive guys are meant to look like this:

As far as the Golems go the Primitive ones look like this:

The Advanced Ones, as you might imagine, appear human. So they can be used as Infiltration Units.

“Salvation is not easy. Salvation is complex, the most complex puzzle ever devised. A thousand years, and perhaps we can begin to decipher the first word of the question. A million years, we may begin to work on the answer. Perhaps when the universe has collapsed in on itself, and all the worlds scattered throughout have been eaten by hungry suns, perhaps then we will be on the verge, about to triumph and join the angels. I can only hope we have not been too slow to realize the truth, that we do indeed have enough time.”

It's from Jeff Somers The Electric Church.

Basically it's a cult that sucks out brains, puts them into robotic bodies, installs a "pacifier" code into it and make them recruit/kidnap more people to keep growing their church. Supposedly with proper maintenance the bodies and brain are effectively immortal.

Your pitch reminded me of their famous saying of "let me show you an endless set of sunsets" and the other is a direct quote from their "pope". 😁

I'm certainly interested in this idea/campaign.

That is a cool quote. I had heard the brain in an artificial body thing before in other science fiction related things but had only recently contemplated story potential. I will be working on characters for this shortly and do a World Building Section. Let me know of any questions, suggestions or anything and I will be dropping character sheets soon.

I have made the first biography. It is for the first Golem, Erica the News Anchor.

Erica the News Anchor
First Golem

Name: Erica Suzuki

Age: 25 years old

Race: Golem, Primitive & Advanced Model

Thread: (Present, Future?)

Personality: Erica is outgoing and talkative, although that comes out a lot less now that she is a Golem. She is not a shy person at all, that was why she decided that she was going to work as a news anchor. This really did not change much after she became a Golem.

History: Erica remembers little of her history. She believes she is just an android. She believes her memories of human life are simple glitches in her programming. It did not occur to her until just recently, when her chip began to malfunction, after her upgrade to an Advanced Model, that she was actually human underneath that mechanical body. As soon as she realized this, Erica ran away. She had no idea what she is going to do now, but she knows she wants the freedom to make up her own mind. She may no longer be a Mundane Human, but she is not just a machine. She is not going to stand for being enslaved.

Bit of Knowledge for you. Erica the News Anchor is real, although she is not a Golem, she is an Android, and she has the primitive appearance shown above, not the human one. She does not have a human brain in her, I just did that for the story to make this robot creepier than she already is.

Edit: Erica Suzunki is going to get upgraded in the future so that she appears to be totally and completely human. In the present, she looks like the actual Erica the news anchor and is a more primitive model of android.

Name: Patricia Monroe

Age: 28 years old in 2020, (still alive in 3042)

Race: Arcanican (Dystopian Witch)

Thread: Present and Future

Personality: Patricia is an Extrovert. She is bold and will say what is on her mind. Sometimes that gets her into trouble and she does not think about whether it is appropriate to do so, but she is a good-hearted person and the most important thing to her is doing what is right in all circumstances.

History: In the year 2020, Patricia is/was 28 years old. She saw the rise of the first Golem, the establishment of Navanix Incorporated, and the coming of the New World Order. In the year 2020, she is very hopeful and optomistic about humanity and their potential, but in 2042 she is much more cynical, having seen the best and worst of humanity and the other races.

Patricia supports humanity, and not the cause of the Arcanican. She saught out the secrets of immortality from the Godlings in 2020, and was found worthy and learned the secret, feeding on the life force of other beings through touch.

She started fighting Navanix in 2020, and she is still doing so in 3042. She eventually uses time travel to go back to 2020 to fight the Corporation head on, wanting to end the threat of it before it even begins.

Caleb Michael Einar Watson

Name: Caleb Michael Einar Watson

Age: 25 in the year 2020

Race: Mutant Zombie

Thread: Present, Future

Personality: Caleb is very introverted. He is not exactly shy, he just does not feel the need to speak much unless it is important and is not big on socializing with others unless it is necessary. Caleb is very spiritual, adopting a type of pseudo-Christianity where he explains his affliction as one of the Forsaken through his faith, believing that he is partaking of a type of communion that is keeping him alive, and that this was spoken of in the bible.

He is very respectful of humans, not killing to survive when he can help it, and cremating the remains of the bodies and showing them the utmost respect, honoring their sacrifice as much as he possibly can.

As the first Mutant Zombie to emerge who is sentient, he leads the way and imposes guidelines and rules for his people. He has been chosen as the official leader of the Forsaken, and he does it even though he does not really want to.

He will put down any Mindless Ones, not allowing them to terrorize and murder humans now that they are a problem for the world. He wants to end their threat, but they breed so quickly that this is easier said than done.

Name
~~Angelique Louve~~

Age
~~88~~
~~Appears 25~~

Race
~~Dystopian Shapeshifter~~
~~Werewolf~~

Thread: Present, Future?

Personality

Strong predator personality.   Quick to temper, fiercely loyal if Angelique accepts you as part of her pack.  Gaining her friendship is no easy manner, as she looks upon humans and even other immortal types as nothing more than livestock.

History
Some fifty-three years ago Angelique Louve was left for dead.  Brutally beaten and raped numerous times by criminals.  An she would have died that day.  For grave were the injuries that she suffered.  For three days she lied in the battered state a slow agonizing march towards the final sleep.   She through did not want to die.   She fought hard in unmoving silence,  her will to live proving harsh.

From the brutal attack that has put her in the position of be close to deaths door.   To the three days that have followed the unending suffering.   One of the dystopian shapeshifter werwolf has observed this.   He did not consume her.  Intrigued by the fact she lives on.  That her will is that much that she should have died but still survives.   The lone werewolf would go to her and ease her suffering or tease hope.   For he lifts her head and gives her a sip of water.

The werewolf would leave, shifting into his gray timber wolf form.  Loping off and leaving the dying Angelique.   It is another three days she now has  brittle lips from parchment.   Her pain has slowly eased,  everything is so cold.   Death hovers now to take her.

The werewolf returns,  he carries a sack that is bloody.   More than that a man.  One of those that had brutalized her the leader.   He is hog tied up.   He drops the whining man on the ground at her feet.   Squats down than and looks her over, gives her a sip of water, having to lift her head and force it in.  For she is that weak.   He repeats this too she can hold her own head up to sip the water.   He shifts into wolf form and bites her on the shoulder.  His canines locking into her flesh that he has pierced,  his saliva seeping into the wound. Slowly the magic of the blood of a werwolf begins to transform her.

As the wolf begins to take control.   She draws ever farther away from death's door.  Until she grows hot, burning with a fever.   Just as it seems she is going to combust,  she shifts into a gray timber wolf.   The werewolf who has  bestowed this on her.   Takes and unties the man and pushes the leader of the trio of rapist that had brutalized her.

"Secure the covenant of this gift given.  Feed on the flesh offered,  tie your soul to immortality.  For the way is upon the feast of flesh.  Simply live warrior."

Letting the animal survival instincts of a wolf take over.  She leaps and tears out the man's throat.   Consuming his flesh and even feasting on his heart.  As she becomes a werewolf.   The werewolf would feed her two more hearts the other cohorts of her brutal attack.

That ancient werewolf,  had seen in her the will to survive.  A will that meant living at all costs.  Not all can except the eating flesh.  Of consuming another flesh,  thus consuming their soul.

He was not wrong indeed she cherished surviving.

She has not developed some moral code,  she eats her enemies.   Which are those of the other immortal races and the humans.   It is not hate, or even dislike.  It is the desire to live.   So no malice is kept towards another race.  She has friends among a wide spectrum of the races.

Questions!

Vampires aren't like normal vampires, cool. Does that mean we can't have an interview with the vampire or skyrim creepy child vampire? Since in their cases they stopped aging when they turned. I know for purposes of this site we don't do underage characters. But if vampires age at say 1/10 a normal life span then that means they could potentially be young/old enough to participate prior to 2020 in their back story.

Werewolves have no hybrid form, cool. Does it have to be a wolf? Could it be a fox, or hyena? There's legends of other were critters out there, so just curious. I personally wouldn't play a felinoid but a werebear? A werebadger? A werehoneybadger? You know they don't care. 😁

GOLEMs, can you think with your body? You know there's going to be a black market of some sort. And do you get to determine what you look like? For instance could an otaku character get a character like the main antagonist of xyz? Can a golem have multiple bodies to switch through. Like a cop has a "swat" body and then at home is a sweet little house maid sort.

Vampires do not age when they begin drinking blood. So yes you could have a character that looks younger, but for this site's purposes yes the age limit has to be respected because of the rules.

I only want werewolves in this story. Sorry. I am not interested in having anything else and complicating things.

What do you mean, can you think with your body? The golem pcs are not going to be mindless drones. Even though other golems may have been mind controlled. If that is what you mean.

As far as Golems go, it is my intention to have the characters have choices of what they look unless someone wants to make it otherwise in their backstory. I am basically thinking you can either look nothing like humans, or more human in appearance. You could resemble a character from a show I suppose, it is not outside of the realm of possibility, but I would say, you would have to have a background of having a lot of money in order to have something more specific designed for you.

Erica is a prototype. As time goes on over the thousand years or something of the story, she is going to eventually get an upgrade to look indistinguishable from a human at some point in the story. Initially she will look as real as Erica the News Anchor looks. Underneath everything she has that metal body shown above.

Anyway let me be clear. Vampires are immortal if they keep drinking blood. Werewolves are immortal if they keep eating people's flesh. Mutant Zombies, are immortal if they keep eating people's flesh. Arcanican witches are immortal as long as they feed on the life energy or Chi of a person. Golems are immortal unless you destroy their body. Godlings are also immortal but you don't have any idea why. Mundane Humans are the only characters that would need time travel in order to be in the future and the past threads.

You can make an immortal race, and the character could have been alive in 2020 and lived up until 3042. Either that or you can be from the future, and we can work out getting your character to the past for the past threads, or vice versa.

Hope that answers the question for you.

Alright, that's perfectly fine. I just know that in Skyrim and in interview they have like this 13 year old character who is now forever 13 because vampires don't age from when they're turned. So, didn't know if you were turned young your body would still grow older, albeit at a much slower pace. :) Like Saiyans, they age slow to stay in fighting shape apparently. ;)

You can thank Autocorrect with the think with your body. What I was curious was if you're in the GOLEM do you, assuming you willingly went in, get to determine what you look like. Such as if you wanted to be like an Astromech. In Ghost In the Shell they show a guy who put his brain into a tank and another who was basically in a walking cooler. So I was wondering how much customization a willing GOLEM had for their body.

Is it taboo to walk around showing the underskin of the GOLEM? Can your GOLEM character have multiple forms? Like you plug into one for your day job but at night you're driving around in an uber fashion model one?

Right now I'm leaning towards Acarium or GOLEM, but that leads me to another question. Do we have other "undead" looking mutants? Like more skeleton/gaunt or mummified?

As far as Golem's go, if you go in willingly, you can choose your appearance if you have paid extra money for that privilege. It's kind of going to turn into a merchandising thing. If you get the basic package, they choose your appearance. You will get the correct gender, but that will be the extent of it if you get the basic package like Erica got.

But something to keep in mind, is that upgrades are available. You may start out in a very crappy body, but you will eventually be able to afford a better one either with cash, or with service time to Navanix.

With your package of a Golem, let's say it comes with a day form and a night form. So there is still some customization even with the primitive models.

There is the potential for someone to have enough customization they can swap their skins and looks entirely different and take on multiple forms if they are a black market assassin. But that is going to be something that has to work into your history.

Are you asking if you can have a slightly different mutant appearance? I believe I would be open to some differences for that, as long as you run them by me and they are human-like in appearance and not something off the wall like in Silent Hill or Resident Evil major monsters.

Cool. As far as the mutants I was just thinking of the ghoul from fallout or the classic d&d Shelly/lich. I probably won't be playing this.

One last question. Could a vamp or werewolf be forced into a golem? Sorry think like shadowrun where to make sure mages never bother you again you burn out their magic by installing cyber ware into their body. It's called burnout in shadowrun.

I had actually forgotten to mention that. Other races cannot be forced into a Golem. Their brains for some reason do not work in one, and they will simply die. It is something about a change that takes place in the brain after someone has been turned. Their body also rejects augmentations that a mundane human can get in this game. However, what you can do, is basically install a chip into a mage that does effectively that. Navanix members who watched way too much Star Trek call this process Assimilation. If you have been Assimilated, and you are one of the immortal races, you still have your faculties, but unfortunately, you will not have your magic ever again. It's basically burnout. There is currently no known way to fix that.

That's very interesting. Thank you. 🙂

I'll roll up my golem later today.

As per what was mentioned above with Assimilation, the video below has an image of what this process may actually look like. There may be some variations. But basically they are hooked up into the Mainframe shown in this video and a chip installed.

I set up the Out of Character Thread for the Navanix Game. I am planning on leaving the Interest Check open and waiting a bit to see if anyone else is interested in this game before I actually begin it. Although I could start right now. Besides its going to take a minute for me to set things up for the game anyway, so. There is also that.
