  A giant cephalopod is found dead. Two days later, villages up and down the coast discover their homes have flooded overnight [and/or there’s been/or will be a tsunami]. The wrath of the Sea God is upon them and the worst is yet to come…
  
  This is a dark “little mermaid” retelling. Carried inland by her father’s flood and a mixture of her own rage (the cephalopod was her mother?), grief and curiosity, Eosphoros becomes enamoured with a local human (a priest? a baker? a candlestick maker? It’s up to you) as he struggles to cope with the disaster.

  Name: Eosphoros “Eos” (The name is supposed to be pronounced in the clicks and thuds tossed stones make underwater)
  Role: The Naiad
  Age: Unknown. In human form, she looks like she’s in her 20s.
  Height: 170 cms / ~ 5’6
  Personality: Curious / Callous / Feral
  Appearance: Eosphoros can take various  forms. As a human, she’s a slender, pale young woman, with sea-foam coloured hair and eyes as black as coals. As a horse, she’s a silver mare. As a dog, a sleek borzoi. In the water, she trades her legs for fins or dissolves into the surf. “"Glory to Eosphorus, youngest daughter of Titan, the great god within Atlantis, king of the ocean, lord of the depths. Thy body is of pearl, thy gaze is of azure, and starlight encircleth thee." ← This old hymn perhaps implies that she has changed over the centuries? From blue eyed to black eyed, perhaps as a reflection of polluted coastal waters?
  Extra: She has three land sisters, aptly named the “bog” sisters because they live in crevices of muddy water. These nymphs have black hair and sometimes appear as three black dogs or snakes. They are less benign than Eosphoros, and at least one of them may be the preserved spirit of a girl murdered and left to rot in shallow water.

  She’s a sorcerer’s apprentice at the local university. He’s a delinquent who breaks in to steal a magical item. Their worlds collide during a time of mounting social and political strife.
  
  Not really sure where I’m going with this one. Open to brainstorming!

  Name: Soledad “Lélé” Mondragón
  Age: Mid to Late Twenties, Around 27
  Height: 162 cms / ~5’4
  Personality: Intelligent / Ambitious / Cunning
  Appearance: Straight black hair, brown eyes, medium-dark skin tone, narrow beak-shaped nose, four toes on her left foot, severe scarring on her left leg, walks with a slight limp (which becomes more pronounced if she's tired).
  Extra: Soledad comes from a dysfunctional family. Her birth father died when she was an infant and her mother remarried and had three additional children. She is mistreated by all, until one day, in cinderella fashion, a note comes from her paternal great uncle, requesting she come live with him. A large check is sent as an additional incentive and soon Soledad finds she’s been whisked away to be apprenticed to her cruel and sadistic relative.

  There are two plot options for this one, which can also be combined or modified:
  
  PLOT A: Your character is part of an organization that hunts the things that go bump in the night. After reports of mounting casualties around the country, your character is commissioned to hunt (capture/kill) mine (who looks exactly like a human woman). What begins as a routine mission quickly descends into chaos when your character realizes just how many other hunters and creatures are after my character. To survive the night, your character and mine team up.
  
  PLOT B: Your character encounters what he thinks is a wounded human woman and takes her into his home to save her life. That night, the house is attacked by monsters your character has only ever heard of in horror stories. To your character's surprise, the young woman responds by biting her wrist and forcing your character to drink her blood (or taking your character's wrist and biting it, thus injecting some kind of chemical? I haven't decided. Let's discuss). The exchange triggers a monstrous (and probably alarming) transformation in your character (we can decide what this looks like together, whether the transformation is visibly subtle or dramatic), who goes on a half-conscious rampage against the intruders. In the morning light, our characters sit in shock among the destruction and ponder their new situation.
  
  IMPORTANT: I'm not looking for monster-flavour bestiality, so... no sex scenes when the characters are in a transformed state (if visibly dramatic), please. Thanks!
