Sounds good to me.

Echo doesn't seem to be the sociable type. Qiyanna is a social butterfly. It'll be interesting playing out their dynamic. It'll also be good having someone around who can get down and dirty in a pinch.

Qi & Echo joining forces: Qi wanting to assist Echo in rebuilding/reviving A-9 & Echo possibly helping her figure out exactly where in the world she is as well as how to get back to her home?

Also excited to see what Galactic comes up with. Would be nice to have someone who can actually, well, punch things!

Currently, my idea is that she was an orphan found in the bowels of an abandoned machine.
She speaks with machines. So not a great people person, preferring machines to humans. I see her perhaps sticking to a few people (PCs), shy etc.

Qi really is going to be doing all the talking, huh lol?

My character has a Raster, which are like, hybrid machines. Plus Qi is pretty adept with machinery herself given her Psionic nature. I think they would get along. Maybe she and Echo were the ones to find her? And somehow convinced her to come along?

Edit: Really diving headfirst into this system since I've never used it before. It seems simple enough, but I'm probably gonna need some help along the way. Hope you all don't mind.

Inability: Medium and Heavy Weapons, salvaging numenera. The difficulty of any task to notice danger around you is increase by one step.

Abilities
Community Builder: While you are present within the community, and actively and personally working on behalf of that community, +3 is added to the community’s infrastructure. Enabler.

Always Tinkering: If you have any tools and materials at all, and you are carrying fewer
cyphers than your limit, you can create a cypher if you have an hour of time to spend. The new cypher is random and always 2 levels lower than normal (minimum 1). It’s also temperamental and fragile. These are called temperamental cyphers. If you give it to anyone else to use, it falls apart immediately, useless. Action to initiate, one hour to complete.

Planner: When you observe or study a location for at least one round as your action, the next time you interact with it, the difficulty of a related task is reduced by one step

Pet Automaton

Wright Intrusions: Spend 1 xp for
Device Perfection: A device or installation works even better than you expected it would, at least in this instance. Maybe the range is twice as long, the duration is 100% longer, or the effect itself is 50% stronger.

Crafting Insight: You are inspired, and you finish crafting the object or structure earlier than was expected (maybe even halving the total time).

Tinkering Vision: When using your Always Tinkering special ability, you discover that the materials you’re using are of unexpectedly high quality, giving you specific options to choose
from. So instead of gaining a random cypher, you gain the cypher of your choice (though it’s still a temperamental cypher, so it’s 2 levels lower than normal and you can’t give it to someone else without destroying it).

Numenera Plans: 6

Starting Equipment: Clothing, explorer’s pack, book about crafting, three cyphers, one oddity, box of crafting tools, 5 shins, bag of light tools, bag of small tools & Buzzer with 12 ammo

Starting Iotum: 4 units of io, 4 units of responsive synth and 6 units of parts

Tier 1
Right Tool for the Job (1 Intellect point + iotum): If you have at least 1 unit of iotum, you can fashion a temporary device that provides an asset to one physical, noncombat task, identified ahead of time.

Deconstruct (3 Intellect points): You take the time to closely study a bit of scrap, machine, cypher, artifact, or other numenera object or structure before attempting to salvage iotum from it. If the salvage source possesses iotum that can be salvaged (as determined by the GM), the salvage task gains an asset. In addition, you gain one additional iotum from the salvage attempt, which means one additional roll on the Iotum Result Table. Action to initiate, ten minutes to complete.

Machine Affinity. You are trained in tasks involving electrical machines. Enabler.
Distant Activation (1 Intellect point). You can activate or deactivate any machine you can see within short range, even if normally you would have to touch or manually operate the device. To use this ability, you must understand the function of the machine, it must be your size or smaller, and it can’t be connected to another intelligence (or be intelligent itself). Action.

Tier 2
Boost Cypher (2 Intellect points): The cypher you activate with your next action functions as if it were 2 levels higher. Action.

Disable Machine (3+ Intellect points): With a few deft touches, you infuse a powered device of level 3 or lower with conflicting instructions. If affected, the device is destroyed or disabled for at least one minute, depending on its size and complexity

Coaxing Power (2 Intellect points). You boost the power or function of a machine so that it operates at 1 level higher than normal for one hour. Action to initiate.

Charm Machine (2 Intellect points). You convince an unintelligent machine to “like” you. A machine that likes you is 50 percent less likely to function if said function would cause you harm. Thus, if a foe attempts to detonate a bomb near you controlled by a detonator that likes you, there is a 50 percent chance that it won’t explode. Action to initiate.

Tier 3
Improved Community Builder: A community continues to gain +3 to infrastructure due to your influence. However, you do not need to be constantly present in and actively working on behalf of the community for it to gain this benefit; it gains it merely because of your past crafting work in the community. Enabler.

Device Insight (3+ Intellect points): When examining any numenera device, you can ask the GM one question about the device to gain an idea of its capabilities or functions, how it can be activated or deactivated, what its weakness is, how it can be repaired, or any other similar query.

Intelligent Interface (3 Intellect points). You can speak telepathically with any intelligent machine within long range. Further, you are trained in all interactions with intelligent machines. Such machines and automatons that normally would never communicate with a human might talk to you. Enabler.

Connection:
Pick one other PC. That person seems especially leery of you, though this could just be your perception.

Minor Effect Suggestions: The duration of influence or control is doubled.
Major Effect Suggestions: The duration of influence or control becomes 28 hours.

DETONATING SCUTTLER
Minimum Crafting Level: 1
Kind: Automaton
Iotum: Io (1d6 units); responsive synth

Parts: 15 units
Specifications: This plan produces a palm-sized automaton with about a dozen metallic legs. Upon activation, it follows simple movement instructions provided by the user, moving up to a very long distance and then detonating. Instructions can include moving in a specific pattern, chasing a designated target that the user can see and point out, or following a creature or object making a particular noise. If the user provides more complex instructions that require some judgment on the scuttler’s part (such as waiting a period of time, querying potential targets and waiting for an unacceptable answer, and so on), the user must succeed on an Intellect task equal to the level of the target (or whatever the GM decides is appropriate) or the scuttler simply detonates then and there. A detonation affects all creatures and objects within an immediate range whose level is no more than the automaton’s level. Damage is one of the following types.

Specifications: This plan produces a multilegged limited automaton with a disc-shaped
body about 8 inches (20 cm) in diameter with the ability to cling to the user, or move up to an immediate distance each round as directed by the user as long as it doesn’t move more than a short distance away. When directed, the automaton can use the Scan esotery at 3 levels higher than its crafted level. It verbally relays the results to the user. Each time it uses Scan again on the same day, the effective level of the Scan decreases by 2.

RAY EMITTER

KINETIC SHIELD

Form: Wristband or armband with a small
metallic device attached
Effect: When a physical projectile such as an arrow, a thrown knife, or a bullet-like
missile comes within 4 inches (10 cm) of the wearer’s body, a powerful energy field
activates automatically and attempts to slow down or deflect the projectile. The wearer’s Speed defense against such attacks is eased (eased by two steps if the artifact is level 6 or higher). If the projectile still hits the wearer, the field adds 1 to Armor against the attack.
Depletion: 1 in 1d20

MULTI-OPENER
Level: 1d6 + 2
Form: Slender metallic box with several smaller
telescoping elements
Effect: When attached to a lock (whether mechanical or machine-mediated) or to the surface of a sealed machine, the multi-opener extends tiny manipulators and attempts to loosen any mechanism holding the device closed or manipulate any lock that is amenable to physical manipulation. Devices
fall open like peeled fruits if their level is 1 less than this artifact, and locks open easily if their level is equal to or less than this artifact. Salvage tasks made in conjunction with a multi-opener gain two assets.
Depletion: 1 in 1d10

PHASING GLOVES
Level: 1d6 + 1
Wearable: Gloves
Effect: These gloves can selectively phase through solid objects whose level is no higher than the cypher level in a fashion that allows the wearer to see what they are touching, providing an asset for anyone attempting to repair a disabled object or structure. Someone wearing the gloves could also search behind walls and under floors using the gloves. The gloves retain their phasing ability for up to one minute per cypher level. If used as part of a salvaging task, the gloves grant two assets.

Sounds like a plan, Zephy. Echo is... not anti-social, he's just outgoing. The 'quiet until I know who you are' type, you know?

@Arcanist with your connection, I could see Echo fitting the role. It could be fluffed out slightly as an apparent jealousy (since the Wright is more of the tinkerer sort)? Something like that.

I’ve been mildly distracted the last couple of days - I finally got the new PC I’ve been trying to save for for years, along with a link cable for my Quest. I’ve almost got all of my hardware and software exactly how I like it, so I will have a char sheet and post up before the weekend, promise.

Hardy: I function as Hale when incapacitated, and incapacitated when I'm down to 1 pool. Death works the same.
Recovery roll training: Instead of a tier 1 training or skill, I add 2 to my recovery rolls.

Power Strike: (3 Might) On a succesful attack, you can knock a target prone in addition to regular damage on same size or smaller foes. For larger foes, a point of effort must be spent prior to the attack.

Rages (Tier 3):

Frenzy: (1 Int) Enabler. Enter a frenzied state. Cannot use Int points, gain 1 Might and Speed Edge. Lasts as long as I like, but ends with combat.

Hardy: Gain 5 to might pool, but can only be used for soaking damage


Fighting Moves:
No need for weapons: My Fists Count as Medium weapons (bashing)

Pierce: (1 speed) Action, fire a ranged piercing attack that does 1 additional damage

Successive Attack: (2 speed) When delivering a killing blow, if another enemy is in range, I can make an additional attack on them.

Skilled in Defense: I am trained in Speed Defense Actions

Skill With Attacks: I am trained in in Heavy Bashing attacks and Heavy Piecing attacks

Lunge: (3 Might) Action. Lunge with a heavy bashing weapon. Attack difficulty increases by one step, but does 4 additional damage if successful.

The lore, what truly matters
Ios comes from a line of Aeon priests, and is fascinated with the gifts of the world(s) before. Simply divining and interpreting Numenera simply wasn’t enough for him, he wanted to search for it on his own as well. With the blessing of his parents, he quickly earned himself a position as an Inquisitor, and began delving for Numenera wherever he could find it. He preferred to work alone or with other priests, as he hated, and still does hate, any form of conflict.

On one such trip, he climbed into What he believed to be the coffin of an exalted leader or warrior in search of anything usable, and found himself trapped inside when the coffin suddenly slammed shut over him. When he finally managed to break free, he was... different. His arm was metal, though it still moved as freely as his flesh had in it’s place. He quickly found that he was stronger, faster, and tougher than he had ever been before. Most notable,. He now shared a brain, or perhaps CPU with a very aggressive voice that called itself LADDIE, or the Logistics and Defense Dedicated Intelligence, whatever that meant. While Ios loathes violence, LADDIE seems to revel in it, often completely taking over when Ios or friends are threatened. Furthermore, Ios feels a strong pull to complete some mission, though he’s unsure of what that mission is. LADDIE is even less help than usual in the matter, claiming the issue to be ‘classified’.

Connection: I feel strangely protective toward one other PC.
