Anyone around who feels confident/interested enough to run a Werewolf: the Apocalypse chronicle? It's by far my favorite RPG to play, but it also requires a really high level of familiarity with the setting in order to make an effective Storyteller.

I've considered running a game myself more than once, but Storytelling in WoD games is a really, really dedicated process, and I feel like I can't maintain the posting speed necessary to GM effectively. That and my lore knowledge is too spotty in some places. I'm pretty familiar with Bone Gnawers, Children of Gaia, Fianna, Uktena, and a few others, but I struggle with the rest.

If I could find a group willing to put up with a slow-posting GM (and willing to stick around for the long haul), I might be interested in running a story, but I figured I'd check this sub-board first in order to see if there are any more-experienced storytellers who're interested.

Senti

I love this game and am running (table top) a really really long haul game with a twist and a massive story arch. As is I know the setting and system very well and love it. Though I can be a little quirky because of this. Also my speed will likely be rubbish RL commitments and all that.

I would love to play or even maybe co GM?

Hi Datawitch!  It's been a while.

I'd love to play this if you can find someone a storyteller.

Slipping in with my tea trolley to offer beverages and delights as I ask a couple of questions. Would this be a standard pack game of would it be worht considering setting up some sort of Sept? Or even do we perhaps want to consider past life activity. (which is the long haul game I run table top).

Pumpkin Seeds

I have no choice but slow posting so I'm interested to play.

Marie Reynolds

I could be interested in this as a player, Slow posting is no real problem for me! Any preference on edition?

Datawych

I hadn't given any thought to edition yet. W20 has the advantage of being more up-to-date (I believe some of the Gifts and stuff got balance tweaks?), whereas whatever the edition before that is called (Revised 2E, I think?) will have the larger library of sourcebooks.

Senti

I think I even have the soft back version (yes I am old)

Marie Reynolds

Nice yes 20 th was re-balanced a bit and the character creation was  streamlined a bit.

Senti

I will have to try to get hold of it then. Though I have to say I love White Wolf games just because I find one can do the system in a pretty fast and loose way and it offers options for a more cinematic gaming style. (One does not have to roll to get dressed in the morning. :) )

Yandros

If perhaps there is room, I would very much be interested in this as a player!
I've got enough Werewolf character concepts to fill a Moot in my head...so, heh.  I'd love to get the chance to have one come a bit more to life in a game.

Love And Submission

I'm always interested in WW games So chalk me up as one more for the group.

Werewolf: the Apocalypse is one of my favorite settings and I would be down to play. I also have a ton of the books do if you need more explanations I'd be more than happy to help you with that.

So  any idea on what edition we are using?

golani

oooooh...its been a long time, but I am interested as well. I got a few ideas popping around my head for a character.

would you allow other changelings beyond just Garou, specifically cats?

Datawych

I'd really rather have all the PCs be Garou - the other Fera don't tend to work particularly well as long-term PCs in a Garou pack/sept-based storyline.

Wargtass

If it is a WtA storyteller you seek, then I can provide. ;D What I would want to know is:

  • Preferred edition.
  • Setting (ergo; where and when, since place and timeline can make a major difference).
  • Rank (do we want young inexperienced Garou or veterans of the Apocalypse).

Depending on these it will take me a varying amount of time to prepare an introductory story for you and once that is done we can start thinking about the group. I'd be most comfortable with 4 players, 5 at most.

I must admit, I didn't think we'd find anyone willing to ST other than myself. I'll PM you when I'm somewhere with an actual keyboard.

Wargtass

I'm returning from a looong absence from this site to find a distressed player wanting to play WtA? How can I resist that?

Oh, and another thing to consider is how much system we want to use. Rolls, sheets and such.

Love And Submission

It depends on which system you have but I'd prefer Werewolf 20th just because it's the most recent one and it seems to have gotten decent reviews.

That's just my two cents but I'm not a werewolf expert by any stretch of the imagination.

Personally I think WtA20 is an excellent book that compress all you need into a single tome. Usually when I GM it is done with a group of old friends who prefer WtA Revised just because they know and are more comfortable with it. Plus that I have almost all of the source books for that.

To summarize; I can do both but to be perfectly honest WtA20 is a great choice.

Senti

From a table top ST that even has soft back first edition somewhere I dont really mind and as a system its pretty fast and loose (at least when I have run games ...which actually is very often)I dont have WA20 but know the setting like I know every episode of Bagpuss. Heh

Edited:  No longer interested.
Do wish you all the best with your game!

Senti

I have more werewolves hidden in my pockets that occasionally do some growling and want to come out to play. Might be because there are puppets and ferrets there too. Also may I offer beverages and delights from my tea trolley.

Senti

If we are playing the grab me an moon game ...Ragabash please ...again blame the puppets.
