Hey everyone I can't seem to find  the info on whether or not in 4th edition about licensing Magic and adept powers is that a thing?

I do believe that you must be licensed to be a mage or else they come and do horrible horrible things to you.

Day Job: Mood Dancer at Club Steam
   Rave stood in her cage in the darkness, holding a sassy pose, hand on hip, back straight, chest thrust out.  Imagining her profile, the dancer blushed a little.  The tiny bikini she wore was both flesh toned and programed to... 

   The music started and the beat washed away all hints of embarrassment.  The floor opened above her and the mist poured down around her.  A soft whirr marked the hydraulics raising her cage up out of the basement.  From the dark corner she could see the strobing lights and flashing lasers and gyrating bodies of customers on the dance floor.  Her heart seemed to match the pounding of the base as her cage was raised above the head level of the dancers. 

   A new verse. 

   A flare of lasers drew attention to the darkest corner of the club.  There they would see a luminous silhouette of a seemingly nude girl, outline made slightly hazy by the mist.  She was a sensual ghost of blue-white light clad in only her amethyst hair. 

   Rave's dance began as she twisted out of the sassy pose, straight into a break dancing spiral, purple hair spinning all around her body as she twirled around a pole, sometimes stripper style, others rolling over her shoulders and spinning on her back. 

   The music took control.  Rave danced away from the poll, gyrating body dancing flawlessly around the cage.  Somewhere in all the sets a paralytically angry song had her grabbing the cage bars and bouncing around in animalistic rage. 

   Rave's final set ended with her sliding to her knees, now crimson hair falling across a body who’s illumination had gone rosy.  Her breasts heaved as she was lowered beneath the mist and down into the baseement.

  I didn't intend for Rave to be 25-29.  It probably wouldn't be a big change, though.  :)

Tis power allows the adept to bridge the gap between the
physical and astral realms and “see” into the astral plane. Adepts
with this power follow all the normal rules for astral perception
(see p. 182).

Mystic Armor level 1
Cost: .5 per level
Tis power magically toughens your skin to resist the effects of damage. Each level provides you with 1 point of armor
(that counts as both Ballistic and Impact) that is cumulative
with any worn armor. Mystic Armor also protects against damage done in astral combat (p. 184).

killing Hands
Cost: .5
Tis power uses magic to turn unarmed attacks into lethal, physical damage. When participating in unarmed combat,
you may do normal Stun damage or declare the use of Killing
Hands and inflict an equal amount of Physical damage instead.
Killing Hands may be used with Critical Strike (p. 187).
A Killing Hands attack may also be used against creatures
with Immunity to Normal Weapons (see p. 288) to inflict either
Stun or Physical damage; their defensive bonuses do not count
against Killing Hands. Killing Hands can also be used in astral
combat (see Astral Combat, p. 184).


Rapid Healing level 2
Cost: .25 per level
You recover more quickly from all forms of injury, using
magical energy to boost the normal healing process. Each level
adds 1 die to your Body for Healing Tests (see p. 242). Te power
does not increase resistance to injury, toxins or pathogens, but
does allow you to recover from their effects more quickly

Spell Resistance level
Cost: .5 per level
You possess an inherent resistance to sorcery. Add 1 die
per level of this power to all your Resistance Tests against spells.
Spell Resistance does not interfere with spells that you choose
not to resist. The only critter power this protects you from is the
Innate Spell power (and critters using Spellcasting of course).

Cost: 5 BP
A character with Guts is not easily frightened. He receives a
+2 dice pool modifer on tests made to resist fear and intimidation,
including magically induced fear from spells or critter powers.

Mystic Adept
Cost: 10 BP
Mystic adepts are a hybrid between magicians and adepts.
Mystic adepts choose whether to dedicate their individual Magic
attribute points toward somatic adept powers (gaining 1 Power
point per Magic attribute point allocated) or towards Magic skills
such as spellcasting and conjuring instead.
A character must purchase this quality in order to be a mystic
adept and starts with a Magic attribute of 1. Tis may be increased
like any other attribute, up to a maximum of 6 + initiation grade
(see Purchase Attributes, p. 73). A character with this quality cannot take the Adept, Magician, or Technomancer qualities.
Like adepts, mystic adepts do not have access to astral space
unless they purchase the Astral Perception adept power. Mystic
adepts may not astrally project.
Tough this quality is inexpensive, gamemasters should be
careful not to allow it to be abused. It should only be taken for
characters that intend to explore their nature as mystic adepts.

Will to Live rating 1
Cost: 5 per rating (max rating 3)
For each rating point in Will to Live, the character gains 1
additional Damage Overflow Box (see p. 244). Tese additional
boxes only allow the character to sustain additional damage before
dying; they do not raise the threshold at which the character becomes unconscious or incapacitated. Tey also don’t affect wound
modifers from damage the character has taken.
Negative:
Allergy 10 pts Silver
Uncommon 2 Te substance or condition is rare for the
local environment. Examples: silver, gold,
seawater in a landlocked campaign setting
(such as like Denver).

Moderate 8 Contact with the allergen produces intense
pain. Apply a –4 dice pool modifer to all
tests made while a character experiences the
symptoms. Increase the Damage Value of
weapons made from this substance by +2
when used against the character.

Simsense vertigo
Bonus: 10 BP (15 BP for hackers/technomancers)
Characters who suffer from Simsense Vertigo experience feelings of disorientation whenever they work with augmented reality,
virtual reality, and simsense (including smartlinks, simrigs, and image links). Such characters receive an extra –2 dice pool modifer
to all tests when interacting with AR, VR, or simsense

She lives out of a bedroom on the fringes of the borders of the  ork underground after  the city of seattle reclaimed part of it as a tourist attraction

History:

They young girl that would be come   Alkaia was a product of goblinzation  and dropped off unceremoniously at the doorstep of an adhoc orphanage in the orc underground at age 11 her human parents could not live with having an ork as a child so the got rid of her. She grew up in the orphanage and  as she became an adult she help out with errands and odd jobs around the place to earn her keep to stay it was not a great life but at least she had a roof over her head and three square meals.

She was never really adopted due to  strange things happening around her. Though she had enough sense not to tell anyone about the stuff she saw  when things happened.

This life changed though as a man who came from the surface and noticed something unique about and  that day she was summoned to the matrons office and  there was a offer  waiting for her from this strange looking man  who called himself  just Professor and offered her a chance to have a place as his student and employee. She took the offer  cause for once someone actually saw she could be more and  she did not want to waste the opportunity. That was the Day Alkaia came to be under his guidance she became a   practitioner of the mystic arts. She found work as an adviser  and problem solver when it came to  the occult and she had her mentor to thank for this new life and new purpose. She even earned herself a local title of the spirit whisperer as she was not afraid to converse with free spirits and  talk and work with them like normal people at least the ones that wanted to anyway. She and her Mentor worked with the closest thing the Underground had to law enforcement when it came to occult issues and even just other citizens. They also kept an eye on the reaches beyond the borders of the ork underground  where vampires and free spirits and other  creatures roamed free.

Sometimes she would even get a few jobs from the surface. Usually passed to her by her mentor. In her  new life she helped a middle age Ork women out  with a few mischievious spirits haunting her bed and breakfast near the border of what is  now the ork under ground nearing where the  vampires and free spirits have taken up. In return  Alkaia has a place to rest her head when not training or working with her mentor. She has come to call this women the affectionate nickname of Mother hen.

The Seattle Metroplex stands as the last Pacific port city in the United Canadian and American States, and home to some of the most powerful and dangerous individuals in the country. The wealth and power concentrated in the area has long made it a jewel in the UCAS crown, and the envy of countless neighbors. Tir Tairngire, the California Free State, the Salish-Shidhe, the Imperial Japanese, all would love to seize the port city and claim its riches.

Most pressing of threats lies from the Elven nation of Tir Tairngire with its Council of Princes constantly scheming and manipulating one another, each attempting to undermine the others and raise their own political status. The recent chaos of the past decade hasn't helped, and now there are worries that the Council views Seattle as a source of funds to revitalize their economy.

The Salish-Shidhe Council views Seattle with a mix of envy and distrust. Tribes such as the Salish under Chief Harold Gray Bear would enjoy owning the territory of Seattle and raising the prominence of his tribe, while the Cascade Crow led by Chief Frederick Eye-Like-Eagle would prefer to conquer Seattle and remove the Anglo population. As it stands, none have the power to individually conquer Seattle, but there are rumors of alliances between the tribes with an aim to finally take the city.

The California Free State views the far away territory of Seattle as a way to once more pour money into their decaying economy. Ravished by economic downturn and encroachment on all sides, FreeCal wants Seattle to finally push the Japanese from San Francisco and secure their southern border against the threat of Aztland and their northern from the encroachment of Tir Tairngire. Given their current state, however, they may have to settle for trying to manipulate from the shadows, as overt action may weaken them to their enemies far too much.

The Japanese Imperial State views the vast North American continent as a source of vast wealth that is currently being squandered, much like that of Asia. Unlike China, however, Japanese Emperor Yasuhito is keenly aware that they already have a toe hold in San Francisco, and would like to expand it further. Using his influence over the three major Japanicorps, Mitsuhama, Renraku, and Shiawase, he is quietly pushing for the corporations to work together to further the Imperial household's desire to build an empire the rival of any seen before or since.

And as for Seattle, the city is currently recovering from the scandals of former governor Kenneth Brackhaven and the Special Election taking place. The world is watching and waiting to see what becomes of the two major candidates, Democrat Nikola Taul and Technocrat Corinne Potter. It's anyone's guess who will win the final election, but it will have potentially huge ramifications for the city and may influence who makes a power grab from their neighbors. And of course, all this only works to deepen the Shadows for Runners to take their own prizes.




Hello peeps and welcome to my first PBP Shadowrun game in quite some time! I'm eager to pick up the mantle once more and be the GM of a wonderfully wacky game that I'm hoping attracts a lot of attention!

I am currently seeking 4 to 6 players for a game that is set in the turbulent 2079 election season in the Seattle Metroplex, with influence coming from the neighboring states along with corporations and shadowy figures alike. And it'll be up to the Runners to navigate this potentially dangerous landscape for their own riches and influence.

If you're interested in playing, you'll need to create a character using Shadowrun 4th Edition with all books Shadowrun 5th Edition rules with the following books: Shadowrun 5e Core Rulebook; Run & Gun, Run Faster, Rigger 5e and no other books will be allowed. You'll use 400 Build Points Priority system, Availability 10, normal rules. If you have questions, feel free to contact me and I can help you out.

I'm also holding the last two positions in reserve until I have confirmed/denied the people I want will be playing, so please keep an eye on that.

He's more of a Street Doc type, with a minor mix of Weapons Specialist.  He may have a few programs and a couple of Technical skill, but he's no Hacker.  If I was going to do that, I'd probably pick a Technomancer instead.
