What the group is about

In short: Two wealthy, old money families related via marriage. One family is old, English aristocracy, the other Jewish old money. There is a lot of interpersonal drama and conflict, intrigue and scheming and the potential for more.

There is a lot more to it all, but we rather reserve that bulk of information for interested parties to discuss.

The main focus is on character development and how the individual family members are related to one another. Family business and politics, dynamics between the characters, drama, conflicts, tension, jealousy, backstabbing, wedding politics, secrets, skeletons in the closets, etc. It certainly is not all happy-happy and it should not be this way. Conflict is the salt in the soup. Each of the families has different outlooks, different goals for the future, different methods, different traditions to uphold, etc.


Who is running the group?

Basically, Cryptic and Nico. But - our writers are pretty much their own GMs. We do not have one strict storyline. There is the premise, yes, but stories can go into all kinds of directions and we would not want to limit our writers. We two are here to make sure questions are answered and that characters are integrated into the mold without much ado.


Why is the group in the [EX] Board?

This is rather simple: There might be triggers, psychological drama and horror, graphic descriptions, etc. We are on the safe side in the [EX] board.


Do you need to be an experienced writer to join?

No.

We are not looking for perfection but rather for enthusiasm first and foremost. We seek and welcome creativity and the ability to build and create a complex world with our characters. But we are not looking for years of writing experience. So, if you are a new member to Elliquiy, please do not be afraid to reach out to us. We are generally looking for laid back, levelheaded attitudes. It should be fun, after all.


What we are looking for

• Writers who are able to communicate and plot with others in the group. This is really essential. We cannot stress this enough.
• Dedicated story and plot-oriented writers [Your IRL gender/sex/orientation and/or your badge is of no consequence. We welcome writers of all badges.].


• Writers who enjoy character development as much as we do.
  
• Writers who are willing and ready to plot. Our group requires a good amount of potting, due to the very nature of it. It is about family politics, about how members of the families are connected to one another. There certainly is a decent amount of past and this requires good communication and plotting.


• Writers who keep fiction and RL apart at all times. It is paramount in this group game. Drama can happen aplenty - but strictly in character.  Naturally so, family can be a breeding ground for contempt and conflict, but it all must stay within the IC realm.

What we offer

• A Freeform/Sandbox style group game where own plotlines and story arches are more than welcome.
• A friendly, stress-free environment without post requirement.
• Good OOC communication and plot-friendly writers.
• Complex and rich stories and characters.
• A plethora of available characters. Yay for extensive families!
• The liberty to not write out sex scenes. Fading to black is quite alright.
• A lot of ideas for characters with basic concepts to build on.
• Room for new characters not yet invented.

What this group is not

• We are not focused on sex and fetish, neither are we a dating game. While erotica might happen, it is not the main focus and it never will be. It is all nice and fine, but if you love smut more than story and plot, we are probably not the right place for you.
• Something we want to make clear right from the start, so that there are no misunderstandings: While this is a group centered around family, this is not an incest game. It never will be one, either. We realise that this is not for everyone and we respect that, come what may. There might be one or the other forbidden, illicit relationship, but this is neither a must nor is it expected.

I'm extremely interested considering the love I have for powerful but twisted and bordering dysfunctional families! He'll my novel is centered around such a family! One question: are we restricted to the characters in your thread or can we add characters and/or modify existing ones?

You can do any of the above! We'd like for the main first character to be one of the family, or close family to the people involved in the very least. If you have any ideas on who you would like to be or what have you please don't hesitate to shoot us a PM!
