The Love Boat: Ladies Night


Eyes for the World, is the number one dating, romance, and relationship organization across the globe. They boast the most successful matches and long lasting relationships of any other dating and romance organization in the world.
Most members being familiar with their online dating site, EftW also arranges group date nights that range from cooking classes and wine tasting, to camping and even skydiving! (Which gave most members a whole new idea of falling in love)

In an attempt to reach out to even broader masses, EftW brought back a classic idea, with a little revamp to fit the times. Thus, the Love Boat was born. The Love Boat is a three week long, luxury cruise, for singles looking to meet that special someone in an ideal vacation setting.
Open to all people around the world, all anyone had to do to be considered was send in the completed application. Then the people at EftW pick at random, the lucky winners of the luxury cruise vacation.

The first edition of the Love Boat had been so popular, and so well received that as soon as it ended they got straight to work on the second edition: Love Boat: Ladies Night!
With the first nod to their LGBT+ members, in the Love Boat Project, it was decided that the second voyage would be women only.

Once again, applications were taken from women all over the world. But this time it was for the chance to meet the woman of their dreams. Then, out of thousands, a handful of lucky women were chosen to join the romance on the Love Boat: Ladies Night!

So the idea of the game is pretty straightforward, a group of characters win a voyage on a women only luxury cruise, with the intention of finding romance and maybe even that special someone.

The game will be primarily freeform, with the inclusion of a dice roll or some other way of deciding the results of any contests or minigames during the cruise.
I intend to include side games for characters to win opportunities to take other characters on special dates, some of which may even be off ship!

The ship


The S.S. Symphony is one of the grandest [Floatright][/float] cruise ships on the sea, boasting 200 luxury suites, each with their own balcony overlooking the sea, king bed, private bathroom with full shower and jacuzzi tub, and all the amenities a person may need to lay in the lap of luxury.

There are two swimming pools on the deck and three hot tubs with two outdoor bars that cater to them. There are three restaurants on the ship:
-The Master's Symphony, a five star dining experience. Four courses served to one table for two, with a menu custom built by a world class guest chef.
(The Master's Symphony is only available by special invitation)

The Concerto, a surf and turf bistro that perfectly straddles the line of fine dining and warm, comfortable atmosphere. Perfect for an intimate night or fun date with friends.

The Dirty Lymeric, casual and fun bar and grill with great music, great food, and always an open table to bring the party when the night calls for a glass of wine or brew, and a plate of french fries.

The ship also has a fully equipped gym with basketball, tennis, volleyball; indoor and outdoor movie theater (indoor movie theater is constantly playing a selection of movies, the outdoor theater is for special events). There is also a disco, and outside dance floor that can be lit up at night. The ship even has its own boat launch with a selection of jet skis.

What we want
-I'm hoping to set sail with 8-10 characters, including my own.

-Be able to post on average once a week, and roughly three paragraphs per post. This rule isn't hard and fast, sometimes a smaller post is necessary for the scene, but try to give people something to work with.

-I want people to let their character relationships develop so if we can avoid creating a bunch of connections pre game, I'd appreciate it.

-No drama, out of game anyway. I'll step in and shoot that kind of thing down real fast. This game is supposed to just be fun, cute, and saucy. So don't add a bunch of vinegar.

-The way this game is set up it is very easy to remove old characters and add new characters, via the boat launch on the ship. So if anybody feels the need to drop, or if two characters find love together and don't need to be on the ship anymore, or if you just can't connect with your character or anyone else and need a revamp, characters can leave the ship and be brought on by speedboat. We can also add more players down the line this way, if need be.

When filling out the application, be sure to to do so as your character would. Help us get a feel for their personality along with the answers.

Bio: Hi I'm Maya, I grew up in a small town called Dunedin, New Zealand. I was raised by my three older brothers as my dad was a commercial fisherman and was gone five to eight months out of the year. I may not have had a traditional childhood, but I wouldn't have changed anything, and my brothers are still my best friends and role models.

I started playing soccer in primary school and haven't stopped ever since. I was recruited to play for Auckland City right out of college and have even played on the New Zealand national team in the World Cup a couple of times. Whenever I'm not playing soccer I'm spending my free time on the beach, swimming, surfing, water skiing… I was born on an island, and I don't think I would ever be able to live too far from the ocean. When it gets late I'll stay out at a bonfire or head over to the local pub.
I like to party hard and spend the entire next day recovering in pj's and wrapped in blankets with a movie marathon on the telly

I'm hoping to meet someone that I can really enjoy life with. Who wants to go on adventures and dance in the rain. Honestly this is a pretty weird way to meet someone, but then I'm a pretty weird bird. So I'm hoping to find someone of a feather to flock with. But so long as I can meet some great people and have a great time doing it, I'll be happy!

Dream Date: I've always wanted to get lost on a date. Go out to someplace we've both never been before, with no phone and no map, and just have an adventure as we find our way back. Along with everything else we manage to find along the way. Hopefully it would end at some little hole in the wall restaurant, or just on the beach looking up at the stars.
Retirement Dream: I've always wanted to backpack through China, Thailand, and/or India. Just grow old going on a crazy, fabulous adventure. Hopefully I could find someone to go with me!

Hmm...

I'm good with a character that mistakenly wound up in the wrong contest, i.e. she was intending to enter the first Love Boat, but her app wound up on Ladies night instead. Then for whatever reason she decides to stick with it.

One thing I'm not interested in is a character who is going to be combative, or adversarial, to the fact that she is on a singles cruise for women. Know what I mean? I'm not really feeling a "I'm not attracted to women. They put me here by mistake. So you just keep your hands off." Kind of vibe for this game. Because technically, that person would be able to leave the cruise any time.

However, a character willing to go along with the process for the sake of a luxury vacation, and over time starting to realize things about herself that she never knew before...
That could be a fun addition to the game.

Growing up in a small hamlet on the outskirts of Stockholm I hung out with my older brothers and we hung out with the boys from my area. As we grew up and played all sorts of sports together they never took it easy on me because I was always just one of the boys. I followed them everywhere, when they started going to the gyms so did I. I loved the gym, sports and I was so competitive I couldn't let the boys be better than I was at anything. I'd go to the gym twice as often as they would and practice sports more often. I always had to win. Eventually that led me into body building and Crossfit competitions. My biggest accomplishments are placing in the top ten two years in a row at Crossfit Worlds and winning under 18s Miss Fitness Sweden. I now own my own fitness studio, do fitness modelling, and of course I'm a certified personal trainer.

Bio: Hey, so yeah.  I was born in Texas, and I've got a younger brother named Jason.  My folks got divorced when I was like thirteen, but they're still both a part of my life and we all get along pretty decently.  My mom's a pastry chef at a pretty bougie hotel in Austin and my dad has a security firm.  My brother's a little shit, but so are all fourteen year olds...I know I was.

I came out when I was fifteen, and my folks took it pretty well, though my grandparents on my mom's side kinda lost their collective shit.  I was pretty much expecting it, though, since they were both really conservative and religious.  My folks protected me from the worst of their hand-wringing, though, and I was lucky enough to have grown up in the more sane part of Texas, so there wasn't a whole lot of backlash at school.  I even got to take one of the varsity cheerleaders to prom.  Man, she was hot, and talk about stamina.  My tongue was half numb the whole next day.

I graduated pretty close to the top of my class and enrolled in the nursing program at UT.  My plan was to get my license to practice, and then channel that into an M.D., though I'm not in any rush.  I enjoy being an ortho nurse, honestly, and I think the work I'm doing now will make me a better doctor one day.  Most of the ones I work with are great, but there's more than a few I've met that I think would have benefited from spending time as a nurse.  Anyway, I work damn hard and play even harder, so I'm looking forward to the chance to kick back on this cruise and make some new friends...at least.

Ons Damn, that's a hard question.  Like, I know I want someone smart, confident...someone I can chill with, but who really challenges me, too, you know?  I'm not real picky when it comes to looks, though I gotta admit that a nice, thick ass is pretty damn hard to ignore.  Uhm, I want a girl that's not too into her looks, one who's willing to destroy a pizza with me without spending the whole time lamenting the calories.  Someone who doesn't take herself too serious, and knows what she wants.  Someone who wants me, but doesn't need me.  Yeah...there's probably more, but that seems like enough for now.

Bio: My family migrated from Osaka, Japan to chase the american dream before I was born, making America my home. My parents worked hard to get to California, with only a few dollars to their name they managed to open up a small bookshop to make their dream a reality. As an only child my parents were constantly on me to work hard on my studies in order to get a degree in business, their goal in mind for me to help out with our family bookstore and make it my career; and of course settle down with a proper man so that the family line could continue. The pressure to strive for excellence left me with little time to myself, that only after college I did find some freedom when I wasn't at my parent's store,as walking home one night I came across a flyer looking for a model for a student project.

Having spent my time at the local college I wasn't too worried, my mother would have lost her mind if she had known, as stepping into the studio made my heart race. Bio: Hooo boy where to begin. Born in Stratton, England. Tiiiiiiiny little dot on the map west of Oxford. Not much to say about my childhood years admittedly. Realized sometime during high school that I wanted to work in law enforcement, wasn't sure where though. Parents wanted me to go to law school, would probably have been the smarter choice. Ended up going to the police academy instead. Worked in the Oxford police force for a couple years. Realized pretty early that it wasn't for me. Started working on a degree in journalism instead, taking it online while working in the police force.

When my studies were wrapping up, got some contract work with some local papers. Mostly just covering events and such. It was alright, but it felt pretty drab as well. I wanted to work on the big stories ya'know? But there's no way they let you into those with just a few minor pieces under your belt. Football ("Soccer") is all just sportsball to me, so when they wanted me to write for that instead I decided to split off and start working freelance instead. Started on an old, buried case from before I was born, some murder case that was never solved. All the police documents were now public property, so got a copy of all of it... Well, lo and behold, half a year later it was all pieced together. Sold the story to the highest bidder, and it started my career.

Following that... I've covered a lot of stuff, old and new. Insurance scams in Des Monies, frozen bodies in Norway, child-workers in Thailand, the list goes on. I've gotten more death-threats than most, attempted hit-and-runs... Actually got shot once, in my leg, have a pretty scar to prove it. Tattooed "you missed, loser!" above it after it healed. So yeah, I'm real wife material. Jokes aside I'd probably settle down a bit if I found someone.
Favorite Food: Grilled salmon, easy! For something less snobby, poutine is delicious.
Favorite Hobby: I'm gonna sound like such a kid, but I love legos. Animation movies, type Dreamworks, are high up there too. I get enough action in my life, it's nice to settle back and enjoy something harmless and comfortable. If someone asked I'd probably say books though.
Dream Date: Netflix and chill applicable? I like it to be private, feels so busy with a bunch of people around ya'know. I wanna be able to give my partner proper attention, hard when there's 50 other couples around you trying to do the same.
Retirement Dream: By the time I retire I've probably seen enough of the world. I'd probably want to move back to England and settle down.
Ons I'm probably gonna come off as stupid shallow here when I say I want someone sexually active. I've tried sexless, doesn't work for me. Better way to put it, I want some intimacy. I want someone a bit laid back, but at the same time proactive. I work too much if nobody tells me to stop, so probably gonna have to be at least a bit assertive. Probably someone who considers reading a book in the same room as "doing something together". The more I'm writing the more I realize I'd make for a terrible wife. Yikes.
offs: Uhh, opposite of the aforementioned? I'm not looking for someone to run my life, I'm perfectly good at ruining it myself. Partners being controlling is the least sexy thing I can imagine, so that's a big no as well. I need someone who can think for themselves, so the type of people who just sit back and wait for stuff to happen doesn't work either.

... I'm being awfully picky for someone who hasn't been in a relationship for almost ten years aren't I. At least I have good stories to tell, just to add a redeeming quality.

Not a reality show setting. Just singles cruise, with the added element of contests/challenges for romantic prizes.

With possibly a down the road element of adding a new character now and then. Just to spice things up.
