The Game Of Love ("Reality" Dating Contest)

Narrator: Welcome everyone to Cupid's Hotel! This breathtaking beach side resort will be hosting our newest international show The Game Of Love! Many of you might be tuning in for the first time so let me get you caught up to speed.

Eleven singles (five guys and six girls) will be joining us at this picture perfect resort. These hunks and goddesses from all around the world have come here to compete against each other and find love!

The goal of Cupid's Hotel is simple. To find love and form connections with the opposite sex. Our Eleven singles are encouraged to do anything they need to do to pair up before the checkout ceremony. By the end of the week, if they've not paired up or formed a solid connection than they risk not being chosen and leaving the hotel. This will continue for the next nine weeks until one couple is left standing and win the half a million dollar prize.

Except plenty of drama, plenty of steamy times, and lots of fun in the sun here at....

What Is This Game?

Based off reality games like, Paradise Hotel, and other international versions of the show. This is a group rp in the vein of a reality dating game. I will play a GM host and also have a randomized "audience" IE I will behind the scene use dice to determine audience decisions.

The idea is that every "week" a person leaves that is not paired or "coupled up" in the game. Couples that are paired up share a bed and are encouraged to get intimate with each other. This is not to say they HAVE to however it is encouraged for the audience. I'm going to fit this in a "gray area" of television reality where sex might be seen and shown on camera. Kind of like if a porn network was doing a reality dating show. Building yourself as the ideal sexy couple earns big points with the audience.

Type Of Contestants

The type of contestants I'm looking for, or I should say the "show runners" are looking for are as follows. I think an effort would have been made to get players and people who fell under the lines of pretty but vapid. There probably would have been a desire to get a few beautiful people who had a normal disposition as well just for the drama and a balanced game. I think a good percentage are spoiled and vain about their looks. Men who are players would have been desired as well.

You can be anyone in this game but this is just a general thought on what kind of people the producers of the show might have looked for. Any character sheet can be submitted but please keep that in mind and if I reach out for changes just know it's to make sure the game is in line with the "drama"

Gm Connection

I will be playing a Gm character, the host of the show. He will be a semi successful model who dropped off in popularity a few years ago.  This is kind of his comeback but he was also specifically chosen because of his rather horndog ways and his being a swarmy man. You can expect him to be the kind of character that might be willing to favor a girl and use his position as a form of power over them. Course since this is that kind of show there might be a form of comeuppance for him down the line.

I might also put in a contestant, but I'm debating on that still. More than likely I will put one in only if we do not find enough contestants.

Getting Voted Off

This is the first game I am going to run/ play where there is an elimination component. Every game week a guy or girl will check out of the hotel. People that check out will then be marked as such on the Character Sheet.

I have a few fun ideas when it comes to them reappearing as "guests" to the show but nothing set in stone. The idea is to have fun and being eliminated is not a mark against you or your character.

I'll include it here as well. While everyone could choose who they want to join up at the beginning and stick with those pairings throughout there should be an attempt at least to move around or switch up partners. Hence why I think the producers would have went for people who showed a willingness to do that.

Having seen ideas like this come and go, I have to ask what you plan on doing to prevent players just choosing favorites to pair up with out-of-character. So let's say two writers know each other and already have chemistry, and therefore just continually pair up. I know you said you encourage they change it up, but that doesn't mean players will necessarily do so.

Perhaps, if it's following reality show rules, have the characters pull random dating locations and they are either paired by chance or the males have to figure out who they'll take on the date? I dunno, just spit-balling something to encourage players actually think a bit about pairings or something, or what their characters will do.

Excellent question! One I've been worried about as well.

Obviously the idea (Even if it's unpopular or no one wants to do it) is to get a pool of people who would be very tempted by new comers or just hooking up with others. To promote general chemistry but also to promote the idea that this is a game and they're players to this game.

That being said to prevent players from fully "pairing" up at first. The first round of coupling will be random. IE people pulling room keys out of a hat or something to that effect. From there things like Gm events will force the established couples to not necessarily "break up" but to instead have to at least contemplate or spend time with other people.

I think it's going to be a combination of getting people who are willing to have some fun with either "players" or "vapid" type characters. Then also as Gm making sure to shake things up as much as possible. I know it's not a complete and total game plan but I would love to see what kind of contestants I get as well as not giving away all the secrets just yet.
