Search for the Red City (Numenera System Interest Check)

Okay, I have wanted to play in an Numen game, so, lets try and run one.

The idea I have in my mind is this.

"You have been contacted by Master Braerheart, the owner of the kingdoms most famous (and infamous) brothel known as the Red Velvet room. He has commissioned a group to discover the location of the mythical Red City, an entire city once dedicated to pleasures of the mind, body and soul...and bring back not only a location but Numenera and Ciphers from the city.

Many have left, none have returned.

Will you?"

I will tentatively mark interest. All I know of Numenera coming from playing Tides of Numenera (the video game), but it seemed an interesting world.

I'm game.  Like Empyrean, primary exposure is through the video game--but I have the books, and I've read bits and pieces here and there, too. I'd probably want to play a Jack.

Still waiting on some details, myself. For now, though, the idea I have for my character is basically:
A) He grew up in the wilderness, possibly living in a ruin.
B) He has a connection with one other character--someone he met, and he decided to follow, like a lost puppy or something.
C) Very specifically, using the game's language and system, he is "A Rugged Jack who Explores Dark Places" and came from the school of hard knocks.

Interested. I'll have to get my hands on the PDF but I do know some of the character creation basics and broad strokes of the setting. My initial idea for a character: I am a ruthless jack who can impersonate anyone.
Unsure if that's how it'd be stated in the book as is, but the general idea is that he's a mix between Fantomas and Chameleon from Spider-Man. He's a thief but not motivated by wealth. He takes pleasure in spying, voyeurism, lurking in shadows, stumbling upon secrets, etc.

2) How will we handle XP/progression?
3) Ratios of story-to-smut-to-combat-etc.
4) You mention the guy is hiring a crew, but never mentioned precisely what his rewards would be.

1. Hmm, does everyone think that might be a lil weak? Perhaps 3 would be better. I'd love to hear a vote from everyone.
2. XP will be given at the conclusion of significant events
3. I want a 30/30/30 % split in the main story
4. Money, Numenra, Ciphers, Prestiege....

Right now I have a Rugged Jack who Explores Dark Places.  Pretty even edge/stat distribution (with a focus on speed). Skills are primarily physical, with many specializations.  He's basically a... relic, of sorts. He woke up in some ruins from a cryo containment chamber, and was the only person to survive the de-thawing process. Raised in ruins by a machine intelligence. At some point--based off the Connection for the character--another PC should have entered his 'home', or he found them while scouting for supplies, and my Jack was just like "Neat! Something like me" and followed them.

Fitting with the whole having a disadvantage at social rolls things, he's... not entirely feral, he just doesn't understand how people should conduct themselves because of his isolation (and probably being from some time that wasn't the Ninth World).

Just waiting for Sidhe to give a full, thorough look over of the sheet I made for her, to make sure I got everything right, and for those random cyphers and oddity to get rolled up by her.

...He's also ridiculously well prepared. Three explorer's packs, a medium melee, light melee, light range weapons, light armor, some natural armor, seeing in the dark.

I am currently playing around with the idea of an Empathic Glaive who Needs No Weapon, mostly because I found the Glint underwhelming.
