A long time ago, before his departure from earth, Buddha decided to have a grand race and all the animals in the kingdom were invited. However only 12 animals showed up. Grateful for their efforts, Buddha rewarded them be naming each year of the Chinese's Zodiac after the animals. The 12 animals that came for the grand race were a rat, ox, tiger, rabbit, dragon, snake, horse, goat, monkey, rooster, dog and pig. Along side the the twelve animals that looked after the year there were also the the 12 celestial beings that looked after the months. Virgo, Leo, Cancer, Gemini, Taurus, Aries, Pieces,, Aquarius, Capricorn, Sagittarius, Scorpius and Libra.

The twelve years animals spirits and the twelve celestial spirits lived upon a mystical isle, unlocated by any map, unchanging in a ever changing society. The spirits leave the isle and visit what is known as "The main land" when it's their turn to bestow gifts upon the human race. Theses gifts can be good, or bad depending upon the sports whims. However as the century's fade and change and the spirits notice the development of man and technology they themselves become lazy in their duties.

Then on the eve of the new millennium a vote was taken. The spirits had had enough, they decided to "gift"  their spirit into a human and have that human take over their role, and so it was that on midnight of the new millennium twenty four people's lives changed forever!
The sudden loss of the celestial and year spirits throws the world into chaos and confusion it's up to these twenty four beings to learn how to control their new gifts and then maintain harmony on the main land

You characters are mortal blessed by a chosen spirit, they can either be humans with powers of the chosen spirit or a humanoid character with aspects of the chosen spirit.or even a human with a animal familiar! When the humans are first chosen by their perspective spirit the powers are uncontrolled and bring them unwanted attention and at the same time they feel drawn to a mystical isle where they meet others like them. On the isle they learn to control their gifts before returning to the main land to restore balance. Remember your all stronger together then apart.

PersonalityMarina is a very independent young woman that prefers to try and do things for herself before expecting others to do her heavy lifting (metaphorical or otherwise) for her, she is especially free spirited and trusts her heart wherever it may guide her. Many consider Marina to be eccentric and/or quirky, she tends to think in a practical way, all the while harboring a wide range in sense of humor.

She can be sarcastically witty when she wants to be and admittedly, sometimes quite stubborn.

Anyone you asked would tell you that Marina is very wise and compassionate, that she has a refreshing way of looking at things that really help to put everything in perspective.

She hates to admit it when she's wrong, but with enough space and perhaps a smidge of gentle coaxing, she'll come around in time to fix any wrongs she may have done in any way she possibily can find.

Marina never likes to stop envisioning how the world could be if it would only try, she'll always hold out hope for something better.

Likes: breezy mid spring days, a relaxing swim, romance novels, picnics in places with lots of flowers, coffee and tea, chocolate, optimistic people, classic literature (Jules Verne, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Herman Melville, etc), opera music and the color pink.
History Since she was young, Marina has been having strange dreams of another life in another world in another time... she's always known there was something different about her, so starkly different from her cookie cutter suburban family... but she could never answer for herself how or why this might be, she just somehow knew that there was something about her that was... old... old and special...

Aside from the gut feelings... there was the strange abilities she'd always had for as far back as she could remember... power over water and air, of course she couldn't create the elements, they had to be present... but she could make a source of water or the air all around do practically anything she wanted if she focused hard enough.

Perhaps she was being a little bit on the arrogant side, but... when people spent a lot of time around her, especially people she found she rather liked... they tended to become... inspired... driven, like they'd miraculously obtained this renewed sense of direction and clarity, they became gearing and ready to go out there and make those dreams and wishes really happen. Her own best friend, an artist named Annabelle, had lost all confidence and inspiration for her work... but after she met Marina at the coffee shop where they both worked their day jobs, Annabelle was like a whole new artist with a thoroughly revitalized passion... she recently just sold a gorgeous painting for a couple grand... wild, right?

It happened often though, especially since she turned eighteen... she knew something wasn't normal about her, beyond the obvious... she was beginning to wonder if she wasn't exactly who she believed herself to be. First thought was that she could have been adopted... but after swabbing both her parents mouths one night after they got smashed on wine, she had herself dna tested... both tests were a match, she was not adopted.

So... what the hell was going on?

Inspire- Marina can cause those near her to become inspired with a renewed determination in whatever ways they need the most.

One with air and water- Marina can manipulate air and water to do as she pleases. She cannot create it though, the elements must be already present for her to manipulate them.

Except for one peculiarity, Marina can create water when a goblet or jug is present to receive the water.

Precognition- Marina catches visions of events yet to come at random, she cannot control when they happen, if they happen or the subject within them, the force behind that is complete mystery.

Aqua clairvoyance- Marina can see events backwards in time when gaze into a still body of water, but her focus must remain unbroken and she must concentrate hard on what she looking to see.

History
Spencer spent most of his life being last.  Last picked, last place.  So when the spirit wanted to choose him as its avatar/host.  Spencer thought it was a joke.  He jumped at the chance.  He had no idea of the responsibility that came with it but he rose to the occasion.  He found some personal uses for the abilities along the way.  He is still trying to harness some of his abilities but he is currently in college seeking to go pro football.  He does good when it suits him but he can be kind of selfish and self focused.  Has yet to figure out why he is horny all the time, he just chalks it up to being a guy.

Powers
Electrical Absorption: the ability to absorb electrical energy and channel it into his body to physically enhance his abilities. Strength, Endurance, Agility, Intellect, Speed, Reflexes, Stamina. Overall he is 20x heightened than a typical human.  He can increase any single ability at the sacrifice of another.
*Pheromones – His body gives off natural pheromones of attraction to the opposite sex, always on in low-level doses, but increase when the attraction is mutual.
Lightning Speed – Due to his body being overloaded most of the time this ability seems to manifest fairly easily allowing him to move at near blinding speed.  Drawback as he eats nearly constantly during his waking hours.
Heightened Senses – Hearing, Sight, Smell.  Drawback: Senses can be overloaded as well.

Power strengths
Polyglot - He is fluent in English, Japanese, Chinese, Spanish, Arabic, and French and Portuguese, able to learn languages in decrease amount of time.
Eidetic Memory – able to remember just about anything read or experienced, particularly well versed in Martial Arts, Sports.

Power weakness
A) Claustrophobia: claustrophobia was once so severe, it rendered him completely helpless. However, he has more or less conquered his fear, though tight spaces still make him uncomfortable.
B) Nutrition: focused he must make sure to eat a balanced diet, sometime he will be seen snacking on veggies just so that he can pig out later.  Like of appropriate nutrients will decrease the effects on his powers.
C) Hyper-active: Only certain activities allow him to ignore this.  He has to really focus or concentrate in order to slow or calm
