There are several ways the Lady of the Manor can go as well. Totally complicit sadistic card carrying villainess and tyrant. Something more reluctant and confused but still focused on doing what's "right" no matter how it makes her feel is interesting too of course. Really it depends on how we want things to go I think.

I think it is important to keep in mind women have no power in this setting. None. The whole knocking thing was a joke. She can boss the maids around, but in many ways she is just as much a slave as them.

Not that this would stop her from abusing the maids in almost any way she pleases.

Also worth mentioning that masturbation results in a beating and lesbiasm gets your clit sawed off.

Very true but, in the books, there is a brothel for high ranking officers (ie the people in charge) which resembles something out of a porno shoot. Also if I recall the Commander's wife says some blasphemous things in private as does the Commander himself. So there's more than enough wiggle room especially for the ones in power. Also, when I mentioned the Lady being a sadistic tyrant I meant over the maids. Totally buying into the propaganda would mean she's meek and submissive to all the men, especially her husband.

In my opinion the Lady of the Manor is the most interesting and creatively challenging, yet amazing role.  All of the roles and situations have an incredible uniqueness about them, but the Lady of the Manir can be so critical to the story and intricate to play.

Look at how quickly this is moving.  In my thinking there are so many more men than women in this compound that I chose the non-Lord route.  If that is something we are lacking later I am willing to switch to a Lord of a house.   I have only a fundamental knowledge of TV series or the book so let me know if I'm missing something.    How many people/positions are you looking to fill before character creations?

No, it definitely is a role. I would just like to stress that this isn't the same exact thing as the show or the book. Very similar but not a replica.

I just got the book and haven't started the tv series yet, so I have no idea what to expect :)

As people begin to send me their character sheets and such there is something I would like to point out. I need you to understand about the Handmaidens as I've written them out for this game. They aren't taken away from their families or anything like that to become handmaidens. They choose to because they can no longer pay the tax. It is also not my intention that they will have 'Ofstan' 'Ofwill' type names. These things are important. This is not a recreation of a wonderful book that has already been written. Just a spin off of the idea.
