Godbound - Ancalia: The Broken Towers [Very Tentative Interest Check] [System]

As the title states--I'm thinking of running the system Godbound for the first time, and after buying the gazetteer for Ancalia, that particularly grim setting has got my attention. This is just a very tentative interest check to see if anyone would want to play in such a game.

A few things to note before you mention interest:
- In my games, people need to be okay with crossgender writing in order to play (Lords writing female characters, Ladies writing male characters, Lieges like me writing characters that don't match our gender identity, etc.)
- This game would end up in the Extreme board since Ancalia's a pretty grim place, though I'm not prioritizing sexual content for the game.
- I'd be looking for about 3-5 players, and it wouldn't be first-come first-serve.
- As the title tag mentions, this is a system game, so dice are going to get used.

If I see enough interest, I'll get a more detailed recruitment thread up. :)

For those unfamiliar with Godbound and the setting above mentioned, I can summarize this interest check's idea in one awesome sentence:

"You will play a god in a magical zombie post-apocalypse and endeavor to restore the nation to its former glory!"

I, quite literally, just got Godbound hardcover three days ago. So yes, I'd be very interested in trying this out and having a good time ripping through the world like any good demigod should.

I've only scratched the surface of the pdf but it sounds pretty cool so far. Learning new things is always fun, especially if I get to be a god. I've always thought that if anyone deserved to be a god, it's totally me.

One question though. Magical zombie post-apocalypse paints a certain picture in my head and I was wondering if less combat focused characters would have stuff to do in the game. Like, would a social or knowledge focused person contribute as much as someone that is a zombie slaying machine?

At least one knowledge-based character would be exceedingly handy. There are secrets in Ancalia that have been lost with the disasters that have befallen it, and someone with useful lore (or the ability to acquire useful lore) would be very helpful in uncovering information that the Godbound can use to purge cities of threats. Social characters will come in handy when the group needs to make allies of the remaining factions of Ancalia, so if you don't want a combat-focused character, you don't necessarily have to have one. 

But will want at least one combat-focused person at minimum; there's some pretty gnarly threats in Ancalia.

Powers in Godbound are pretty flexible, and the basic combat tools are available to everyone, so even Social characters can slay zombies if they need to. Or get their fanatical legions to do it for them.

Given that Blythe didn't try to remove my head OOCly for what my character did in his VTM game I'm certainly interested. Though I'll have to take a couple days to review the core book.

i'm interested too i'm sure i have the core rulebook somewhere as pdf ... i've read a bit in it, but honestly i've never been able to play one, so i might make some mistakes at the beginning. if thats not a problem i'd be very interested

Since I've never run Godbound before, newness to the system isn't a problem. Mistakes are totally fine--I'm a generally a very easygoing sort of GM.

Trust me, after what I pulled in his VTM game Blythe is really laid back. I've been booted from games or had my character outright killed for what I pulled in his game.
