Yes. As Carpathian males age they slowly lose emotions and color. Eventually all they feel is weak simulations. Familial ties, and strong emotions to protect. Other than that, most end up becoming rather emotionless.

Carpathian Children have some abilities, but they are unharnessed and have to be trained. Generally this training happens through life, but only gets stronger and gets more finesse as they age. Usually by Puberty their powers are stabilized. Male Carpathians that lose their color and emotions, vary in age but usually it's around 100-200 that they lose all color and emotion. This can vary based on how much darkness the Carpathian male carries within him. Some lose it sooner, some lose it slower. But generally by 200 they have lost it all. After they lose it all, they run the risk of giving in to their darkness and becoming Vampire. This is why they fight their darkness constantly, and work hard to stop themselves from turning. If they feel they are a risk to turning, they will give themselves to the Dawn.

Yes males succumb to a darkness as they get older only to be freed from it when they find their lifemate, or they give in and become vampires, or as Sweet said walk into the sun. As for the abilities children need to learn them like human children learn things.

Each of the males the ladies will be meeting have most likely already found the darkness and are fighting against it. Unless a very young male ends up joining. I hope that helps.

I can do tall, I'm not too big on the bulky muscle build though. I also want to try to drift back towards the original Carpathian concept and use a male with longer hair. That work for you?
