You can see Haruna as being at the forefront when it comes to interschool contests, having a competitive streak when it comes to such events.

I'm also thinking that the weapons of her avatar might shift and change over time, even have the ability to transform her into a being beyond 100 meters tall to fit actual 460mm cannons.

(Of course, when she gets that tall with a miniskirt...)

I didn't know if you got my message but, I saw opportunities between Yhorm and her considering they both could be the 'staple' children for the schools. But up to you.

Also wanted to present the idea of a school to school competition? Like, Skill, intelligence, Strength and Charisma.

My character Yhorm fits into the Strength categories, and every category has a set of different matches. IE Wrestling, Fighting Match, Arm wrestling and so forth.

Just something I wondered if it was possible, me and Res were discussing it with his character and I'm really on board with it.

Yurie

Or maybe a school competition to see who can bring in the most demons?

Yarnover

We could start with something as simple as an athletic competition?  Or... that could be the face of the operation and we have to steal some trinket or reach some goal by infiltrating the other school or... something?

I think every school nominally participates in things like baseball, chess/go, tennis, and debate competitions... but there's definitely 'officially unofficial' wars and rivalries between schools. IE; The ninja habitually try to sneak into Usagi to deface its student mural or otherwise prank them, which is under constant guard... whereas the magical girls host the most aggressive bake sale in history, cornering ninja in civilian attire and tempting them with absurdly delicious treats. The Sarutobi upper classmen see this as subversive and traitorous, harshly punishing any ninja caught with Usagi sweets... much to the delight of the magical girls.

In both schools, these operations are meticulously planned in war rooms. To use the above example, the ninja discuss plans of infiltration and potential targets and prepare their sneaking gear, whereas the magical girls identify the students most susceptible to being tempted by the delicious treats. In the latter example, it's like a Sith turning a Jedi to the dark side and that's exactly how everyone treats it. :P Literally, the dark side has cookies.

Other schools participate in such rivalries as well. The Military Academy conducts 'war games', the Musical Academy likes to spontaneously start concerts on other schools' grounds, ect. ect.

For the most part, I imagine the demon subjugation missions are like a part-time job. It's not a tremendous big deal to most students. Well.. at least until the plot of this game changes the status quo. :P

I love this so much!

If at all possible with the baked goods thing, the Ninja school could also set up a trap for those pesky cookie givers by sending out Yhorm as bait, he known more in his transformed state, so when people try to gang up on him, he can give quite the 'chilling' impression.

Yarnover

Aww... darn. I was looking forward to Sana somewhat timidly trying to approach him.

You never know what may happen, honestly just really itching to start.

Inerrant Lust

Soon. Very soon. Just figuring out some last minute things.

It was mentioned somewhat off-hand, but perhaps this would be a good place to start- While Sarutobi is in the middle of its transition from one student council president regime to another, Usagi is preparing a full-blown bake sale offensive on its vulnerable student body...

Relikai

Haruna of the cooking club is simply...

Supplying both sides the ammunition for war...

Jefepato

Just for the record, is it fine if Hana thinks the school rivalry is a bit stupid?  She hates demons (and people who side with demons) and really doesn't care if her peers want to hate magical girls (although she will still study magic because she studies everything).

But really she'd treat any fight with a magical girl as a friendly sparring match, and when there's a demon, she goes full-on psycho-murderess.  If that's okay.

Yurie

Also, small side note; is it alright if not a lot of magical girls know that Hikaru is actually Shineon? I'd imagine Hikaru doesn't like transforming publicly, so he does the whole Clark Kent thing. Plus, it's hard for most people to see squishy, sad little Hikaru and powerful, confident Shineon as being the same person.

Broken

I can envision Yhorm being able to interact well with just about everyone.

Haruna and Yhorm will definitely have a lot of 'tension' since they are both powerful but derive from different schools, so rivalry gets in the way of 'true feelings'

Yhorm and Sana at first could be kinda cute, she is so small and timid in comparison to someone large and cold like him. Seeing her as someone to care for really.

Hana and Yhorm 'may' not like each other that much, maybe she is not too fond of Yhorm's uninja like methods, and he can't really get behind Hana's tactics. Until they found a cohesive way of working together.

Hua and Yhorm also may be a problem, plants and ice do not mix well for life. So funnily enough a Winter and a Spring in a way.

Hikaru and Yhorm may be weird. Yhorm dislikes weakness, but has a secretive nurturing big brother persona. He does wish to see people get stronger in both body and soul, so brace for extreme training sessions!

Magical Hikaru and Yhorm however, again I see rivalry potential with strength being the focus, but surprise should he ever find that Hikaru is the same person.

That's at least my initial thoughts.

And an OOC thread is up, IC threads soon to follow (which I will link in the OOC)

https://elliquiy.com/forums/index.php?topic=261120.msg12883025#msg12883025

If you could, please post your completed sheets on the OOC. I will link them in the opening post for easy access. I... may have had a little too much fun poking fun at ridiculous fighting game tropes while I was at it.

Jefepato; Yep. I mean, the rivalry IS kind of stupid... but it's probably the biggest point of pride to each respective school's leadership.
Yurie; That's fine by me, as far as NPCs go.

Tokyorose627

This game sounds interesting. :)

So the plot is basically a school rivalry between a ninja school and a magical girl school?

Inerrant Lust

With both having the mission to hunt demons at night, Tokyorose627. ;)

As an aside, how does everyone feel about uniforms? On the one hand, it kind of limits your character design choices while they're in school. Which is super lame.

On the other hand, cosplay's one of my fetishes. ::)

And plus, there's precedent for this sort of thing.

Sarutobi's would definitely be on the bible black side... with nipple buttons. Whereas I imagine Usagi's would be a bit more modest. Cute and sweet. Though I'm kind of feeling a Hogwarts vibe from Usagi as well...

Ah, ok! :D

I'm gonna make a magical girl, if that's ok?

Inerrant Lust

I guess I can take some more on, though you'll be joining slightly late unless you get in a sheet like... today.

That's ok if she's a little late! :D

I actually had an idea where she would be coming in as a transfer student as a third year? Maybe she hasn't had time to get some of the materials,so she goes to Usagi on her first day in her old school uniform?

Hana doesn't care, really.  She does her thing, and Yhorm is free to do his.  If he wants to draw all the attention and pick fights, she can go for that, it works out for her all the better.  As long as he fights demons, she will greet him with a smile.

Hana is very no-nonsense.  If you're fighting on the side of humanity, she's got your back, and that's all there is.  Even if she doesn't especially like the way you present yourself (maybe she doesn't, who cares).  There are other problems and one of them has tentacles, so it's murder time.

Also, it'd be a bit weird for her if he thinks of her as someone to take care of, but she could probably be okay with it.  Their styles actually work well together and she would see that quickly.

Name Mallory Mochizuki

Cup Size: 34B

MG Alias: The Sailor Soldier

DoB: June 27th

Hobbies: Eating sweets, reading, playing video games, watching Magical Girl Animes, trying out new makeup and clothes, fighting evil demons and being a defender of Justice!

School/Year: Usagi Academy 3rd Year Transfer

Club: Cooking

Magical Device: Transformation Brooch/Blush Compact

Special Abilities: Transform!

Magic:

Heart Moon Rod: Due to Mallory's inability to expel magic from her hands, she's taken to creating her own weapon that can manifest the magic she produces. Based on her love for magical girls, she's designed the weapon to match her outfit, and to have a cute appeal and design. The Heart Moon Rod can be compacted for easy carrying use, and can withstand heavy damage.

Moonlight - Magic that was given to her from her wish to be just like the magical girls she's adored a a child, Mallory has been given the ability to use magic that comes from the moonlight of the moon! Her compact takes in moonlight to fill itself with energy, and as a result, Mallory can use such energy to transform and to use all sorts of magical abilities to aid her in battle!

  • Moon Prism: Manifesting her magic to become a prism, Mallory can trap any demons and foes she comes across! It lasts for  minutes, until it shatters away, or Mallory's magic runs out!

  • Moon Shining Stardust: Emitted from her Heart Moon Rod, her holy magic creates a wave of moon dust infused with holy magic, and if demons are caught in the wave, are stunned immensely and cannot move for a short period. However, if a stronger demon were to get caught in the wave more then once, it will become less and less affect the more they've been exposed.

  • Moon Aura: Focusing on her holy magic, a white light emits from Mallory, and allows her increased strength and durability in battle for around 5 minutes. After using the ability however, she becomes fatigued, and her magic becomes less affective.

  • Waves and Bursts: Using her Rod that she created, Mallory is able to throw bursts and waves of holy magic to stun and fight off enemies.

  • Enhanced Abilities: Transforming allows Mallory to jump off far distances, as well as even fly!

Limitation: Mallory's compact takes in moonlight to power itself and to allow Mallory to use magic! If the compact loses all of it's energy, the compact will fail, causing Mallory to de-transform and be unable to until it's recharged. As a result, hr compact only has enough energy for about 12 hours, or half of a day.

Physical Description: Mallory stands at 5'0" exactly, with a slender body that is accentuated by the clothes that she usually wears. She has chocolate brown hair, and matching eyes, and has long hair that she keeps either down, or wears with a small side ponytail.

However, when she turns into her alter ego, her appearance changes dramatically! Her mid-length brown hair suddenly changed to a light blonde color, growing to the back of her own ankles, and is tied in two long pigtails, with two matching buns on each side of her head. Her brown eyes become a crystal blue color, and she grows about two inches taller, as well as having her body become more curvy and accentuating, with her bust growing from a modest B cup, to a bigger C cup.

Biography: As a young child, Mallory never really had anything special or any interesting hobbies or traits. Being the youngest of three sisters, she was out-shined by her two older sisters due to their amazing magical ability, later both transferring to schools across the seas to become witches in training, while Mallory however, showed no signs or traits of magic. Coming from a line of magic users, being called the normal one was a title that Mallory unfortunately came adjusted to, being given looks of pity from her parents whenever she came home from public school. Every day of her life, Mallory would get letters from her sisters, telling her how great they had become and how happy they were to have their gifts, while she was left alone to be a civilian on the sidelines. The only thing that could ever help Mallory cope was watching her TV shows, watching the shows about magical girls and how they fought to keep people safe, and it only made Mallory more determined to find out her gift, to become a magical girl to help others and to prove herself to her family.

For 5 years, she continued to go to school, soon now almost in high school and still finding nothing but misery for herself. Doing things to help others, but finding no answers, she walked home one evening after school when she suddenly saw a burning house on fire. Unsure of what to do, she rushed in when she could see something moving from the nearby window of the second story window; a cat, stuck in the house. Determined, and acting irrationally, she dropped her things and ran into the house, rushing through flames and debree to save the animal that was trapped inside. Almost out of breath, and getting dizzy, she was able to get the cat and herself out of the house, but not without blacking out form lack of oxygen, and the smoke the filled her lungs. It wasn't until a few hours that she woke up, to find herself, in her room of all places. Confused, and figuring it was most likely a dream, she moved form her bed to get up, only to hear something fall from her bed; a strange heart shaped compact...and a letter for a School for Gifted Students?

Character Goals: To fight for those that can't fight for themselves. To prove herself to her family that anyone can be a hero and help others, even when you aren't born with powers!

Yurie

Re: the uniforms - Maybe something brighter and more colorful for Usagi, ala

Inerrant Lust

Yeah, that would make a lot more sense but I didn't look too hard for uniforms. Was busy with the intro posts...

Speaking of, they're all up except for the 'midnight subjugation' thread because I'm still trying to figure out some things about that... You can find the links in the OOC thread. Wow, that was quick Tokyorose. Heh, Sailor Moon is the Ur-Usagi magical girl, considering the school's named after her. ;)

You can post her sheet in the OOC thread. The IC threads are open but don't feel obliged to have everyone stick together immediately. I understand that can make a thread get very crazy quickly as people with varying posting speeds end up in a situation where two people hold an entire conversation in the presence of a third who apparently just stands there not inputting anything... :P But I at least wanted to put everyone in the same room (or garden, in Sarutobi's case) so that you had the option if you wanted to.

You can also just have your characters go to their clubs off by themselves and I'll supply NPCs to interact with. The two teachers and the baking club student were loads of fun to write and I just kind of whipped them up ad-hoc. ::)

Oh, perhaps I should make a daytime 'outside of school' thread and a nighttime 'outside of school' thread...

But yeah, I just wanted an excuse to be Sailor Moon. I mean, original Magical Girl, come on. ;3
