I like my tablet. It's an older model, but it still works wonderful. Except Acer no longer does OTA OS updates for the A500, and I had to hard reset. So now I can't update, can't download apps from the play store...nada. Can't even load something off a USB drive because you need to download a file manager for that.

I know there are updates to bring it to android 4.0 out there, but all I can find is the a500 GEN1 update, and I have the GEN2 build. And even if I could find it, I still have no idea how to install it on to my tablet.

Help, pretty please!

I've had a string of Acer laptops over the years but I didn't even know they made tablets. You could try contacting their customer support and see what they say?

Are you sure you can't use a USB with it? Usually with computers, you can access the BIOS settings and boot things up from a USB or alternative source to the hard drive. Even if you don't, it should still be able to access the USB. Can you access the net from it at all or connect to Bluetooth or there used to be this method of file transfer that phones and things had years back that was like Bluetooth but slower.

I think Acer customer service or a forum dedicated to computer or tablet issues (especially an Acer one) would be a good bet.

What do you have on the tablet right now? Is the Android on it working?
