(dusting off an older idea)

There used to be this thing called 'Basic D&D'. You may have heard of it? Well, someone's gone back and retooled it slightly, adding just enough from WotC's 3.5e to help playability without losing that ol' kitchen-table feel.

Anyone up for a little light hack-n-slash?

I don't have any specific setting in mind for this yet, but folks can expect 'Order of the Stick' style gamespeak, Crushed the Doomed Kitty cheesecake factor, and a few other running gags. Whether I go for the full 'Final Fantasy/DragonQuest' feel depends on whether people can stand 'cute' monster names and Yggdrasil Leaves.

BF also has an online character generator. Look under Tools...

So now we've got Basic Role-Playing Game and Basic Fantasy Role-Playing Game and gawds know what else. Even my memory for trivial details no one cares about is going to be taxed keeping all these different games straight.

Assuming I can comprehend the rules, I'm in.

Plenty of room, so far. We have a Magic User and a Thief, so either a Cleric or a Fighter would be a good idea. :)
