As soon as I saw "WH40" I just had to hop on!

I never played the actual tabletop but I do love the rts. I find the world of 40k rather..Exciting and amusing to read about and look at!
Does anyone have a favorite chapter?

To be completely honest: I like pre-heresy (and ideally pre-butcher's nails...) World Eaters.
They are definetly the most tragic of all the chapters, with their dysfunctional relationship to their primarch and all. They always did the dirtiest of dirty work and due to the fact, that Angron was really pissed about the whole "Lol, who cares what you're doint right now, you're commanding one of my armies now."-thing, they never got a chance to develop a culture, like the Space Wolves or the Ultrasmurfs.
They are one of the most glorious examples of "If the Emperor had been a better father, a lot of shit could have been avoided"

So....yeah. Not a fan of Space Marines in general, but if I had to pick a chapter: Pre-Heresy World Eaters.

I got a tie for fave chapter...

Blood angels, who matched salamanders in the care for people, helping rebuild the places they conquored so they were better then before, and just general good guys. ... even with the blood thirst thing.

Second is the Raven Guard. Bit emo bois, but also tactically sound and fight as an effective fighting force. Do like their background fluffs to.

My favorite 40k story is that one ork WAAAGH!!! that ended up outside of Khorne's palace and killed so many of his demons that Khorne decided they were pretty awesome. So he made it so at the beginning of each day the slain orks rise to fight again.

Just further proof that Orkz is da best dere iz.

Found a weird little thing called the "chapter challenge" on this site which gives you a randomly made up space marine chapter name. From there you build a small chapter (represented by a single squad of intercessors troops) and give them an interesting history based on  the name.

I got "The Violators of Benediction"

Thinking... Raven Guard Chapter. Known for working with Ordo Hereticus in tracking down and eliminating cults alongside Sisters of Battle, and a great hatred of the Word Bearers whom they hunt relentlessly. They are quite well known in holding their attacks until their targets have given benedictions, hence their name.

Despite this they are disliked by the Ecclesiarchy, for several times in the past have mercilessly eliminated cells of the  Frateris Militia citing the Decree Passive for their actions. Some rumors state they hold to a reformed version of The Imperial Truth, now dedicating themselves to wiping out Religious groups attempting to seize power as well as the destruction of cults that spread fel knowledge.

Will try and find good marine painter program to mock up chapter colors.

Side note... If you try it, expect to get ALOT of stupid names... i was lucky with that first one, but like, the next 50 were just... Bad.

And of course, the only other good one i got was

gggoooddd damn it. got cockblocked by mother nature and a multitude of factors on buying the shadowspear box with friend.

Most the boxes are stuck out in denver or somewhere cause of the snow storms, and all the boxes LSG has are dibbed for preorder...

But my pre-order didnt go through. some error with preordering and pay in store, was suppose to give a warning saying you cant.. but didnt and processed anyways. then its suppose to give an email saying that order is voided.. and didnt.

Still let me put in a buy at preorder price, but gotta wait for the box to show up.

I adore the Warhammer 40K setting, as well as the Fantasy alternative. I've made for various RPG attempts an Adepta Sororitas Sister of Battle, but have yet to play her for a long period of time. :(
