Distinguishing Marks: Has a small burn on the inside of her left arm from a branding accident. A scar on the left side of her body from a runaway steer, it goes from her hip to right under Adelaide’s breast.
Physical Description: Even though she is short, Adelaide knows how to make herself notice. Windblown blond hair hangs loosely when not thrown into a simple ponytail, the length barely reaching her shoulder blades as anything longer would get in the way. Adelaide's skin is lightly tan from hours spending outside with the animals, fingernails chipped and uneven due to years of hard work. Her eyes are what her mother calls sky blue, and one of her most attractive features.
Likes: Adelaide enjoys the smell of the outdoors, the feel of rough leather against her skin. She will spend hours practicing with an aged whip that was given to her by her Grandfather. Along with being proficient with a whip, she is also handy with a lasso. Able to rope just about anything within her eye sight. Most of all Adelaide loves singing sometimes found singing to the new born animals when out in the pastures.
Dislikes: A strong hate for anyone that shows laziness. Disapproves of ones that are arrogant or takes advantage of the weak. Those that use manipulation in their favor and fakes kindness.
Fears: Enclosed spaces, when she was five she was accidentally trapped in the meat locker. Ever since Adelaide tries to avoid any sort of small place if trapped she will start to have a small panic attack. Most of all Adelaide fears Trackerjackers. A while back a group of farm hands and cattle got into a nest of them near the property line. She knows firsthand what horrible things they are capable of and how horrifying the results are.
Personality: Has a free of spirit that is allowed, Adelaide is polite and well spoken due to dealing with business transactions on her family’s farm. A huge animal lover she will often take care of the runt of any litter. Many say she is a natural with animals, able to calm down the wildest of beasts.
History: Growing up in District 10 on a modest farm, she was always around animals and nature. When Adelaide was four she faintly remembers watching her oldest brother compete in the Hunger Games, sadly he was killed the seventh night when his ally turned on him. Since then she secretly hated the games for taking away her brother. Always wishing that one year The Capitol could quit and no one else would have to lose a loved one.
Living on the farm was good for her, at times feeling as if The Capitol couldn’t reach them on their tiny plot of land. While working among the animals Adelaide uses a whip to help guide the herds. Never hurting them she simply grazed the cow’s side to make sure they went the right way. Even when not working she would still practice with whip, not wanting to get rusty and hurt an animal. Most of the time though she can be found simply sitting on the fence singing, enjoying the fresh air that District 10 had to offer when the factories weren’t in full effect.
Once Adelaide reached the age of sixteen she was fearful of becoming a tribute once the Hunger Games rolled around. The first year she was lucky and though she felt sorrow for those chosen, she cried into her pillow that night in relief at not being the one to leave. Still the threat loomed over her head and the following year, now the age of 17 she stood there with several other girls in the straight lines and sorted by age.
Dressed in the cleanest and best dress she owned, hair gently pulled back into a bun. Adelaide could feel her heart skip a beat as her name was announced over the sound system, the District Representative simply smiling as if they won a large reward. Eyes wide with disbelief she was escorted up to the stage, even now she barely remembers the day, everything happening in a blur. The thought of having to fight against a fellow member of the District and countless others dulled her senses. Mainly in shock she didn't talk or speak to anyone except her family when they came to see her off. Adelaide can't even recall the trip to The Capitol, everything just blurring together in the end.
