I have done it on several occasions. Heard a tune, loved it, but for some reason, heard the "wrong words" and started singing the song incorrectly!
Just a few examples:
Kenny Rogers, "Lucille".. He sings, "Four hungry children and a crop in the field!" I would sing:
"Four hundred children and a crop in the field!" (Like, who the hell has 400 children??? Duh!)
or Cliff Richards "We Don't Talk Anymore", where he sings "It's so funny, how we don't talk anymore", I thought for the longest time he was singing, "Disco Mummy, how we don't talk anymore"
and lastly, we all know the Eagles timeless "Take It to the Limit"? Well, I was quite young and my aunt LOVED the Eagles and she would blare them on her car radio everywhere we went. One day, I was sitting over on the passenger side, singing along with her and the song, but instead of saying "So put me on a highway and show me a sign", I was singing to the TOP of my voice:
"Pussy on the highway, show me a sign!" I've never lived that one down, and to this day, I still think it sounds a whole lot like "pussy"! LMAO! Perhaps my folks should have invested in some hearing aids! *shrugs*
What songs have you sang incorrectly??
