 So, before looking over sheets next week, I have a few more questions for folks-


Which is your preferred vampire lord to face? The Duke will be a game about waging guerilla warfare on the machinery of a fascist monster, seeking to crush any dissidence under his heel in the most brutal way possible.  The Countess would be a game about social intrigue, of rousing the cast off of society into action, infiltrating social affairs to gain intel. The Baron would be a game about finding the greatest of hope in the darkest of times, of a desperate struggle against an inhuman monster that lashes out to devour anything it can.

What themes are you comfortable with? Being a game where vampires are your mainstay opponents, non-con is likely to come up but doesn't have to if you aren't comfortable with it. Consent for anything noncon is entirely in the player's control- if you don't want it to happen it won't and another way will be found. That also leads into the question of romance and the like, would you like NPCs to be interested in/have an interest in your character? This is a game with a bleak tone to it already, so it's likely that any NPCs could die at any point (I promise I won't abuse this but will use it to dramatic effect rarely).

Are there any other questions on theme/content that you might have? And how does everyone feel about using Discord for quicker communication? We will still use the forums for rp purposes and holding sheets, but I'm able to answer discord faster than I am the boards.

Personally I would say either the Countess or the Duke. With Yseult, I'm most keenly looking for doing things like raising up the angry populace, convincing people to pass newsintel and spy, or provide the social cover to infiltrate places. That kind of thing.

As for non-con and the like I don't mind it, although I would prefer the more extreme things to go slightly lighter on the details.  Not looking for torture and gore porn of the excuriating process of how draining a person's body of every last drop of blood works.  So a scene where a person being drained, perfect works for me, just don't want 5 paragraphs explaining every little detail of the process or the exact shape of the wound left behind when the arm is cut off if that makes sense.

For the vampire lord, I suppose the Duke or Countess would be a good start.

I feel a page from Netflix's Castlevania is nice. I agree with Avalon on not going into detail with the gore and blood - some action is nice too balancing some humor to keep things from being completely dark.

I'm fine with some non-consensual situations where protagonists are in a pinch and have to find a way to get out of trouble (or being subject to a bit of lewd, this being a game in E ).

Would be nice to have an NPC that reminds my character what it's like to be human though however that reminder would come in. :3c

Discord would be a good help, I believe. Lets you share things too that you don't want to flood the ooc with.

I'm probably leaning more towards the Duke. I think the problem with the mainly socializing campaign is that not everyone is going to be built for charisma, and even if they are only so many people can contribute to a conversation at one time. I think the Duke would still allow for social stuff, needing to convince people over to the cause, setting up for ambushes or infiltrations, etc.

I'm good with most stuff proposed, including NC. I echo the sentiment of not needing extra grisly details, though I'm not particularly squeamish to it.

For romance I usually lean more towards player based relationships, but I wouldn't mind having friends or family NPCs that can be used for similar dramatic effect.

And Discord is fine with me.

The duke looks very interesting in a sorta Dishonored feeling. The Baron would probably be fun but fairly short in a oh god it's eating me deal.

I'm fine with noncon and NPC's though liable to not go further then friendship. Romances are... hard to pull off.  I'll echo the whole no need to go wholesale on the gore although I personally (based on main group I run with) have trouble finding the line. Or their just squeamish, you pulp a sleeping man's head and it's going to splatter after all.

I'm also fine with discord. ^^
