If both of you submit a character for it, we’ll choose whichever one fits best with the story direction. I just wanted to be upfront about that now to avoid any hard feelings later if we have to make a call.

Oop, that was my fault for totally missing @Sofia Grace's post, lol. I'll stick with my Smithy idea :D

Yukina

I forgot how hard picking a good faceclaim was, lol :)

Quote from: Yukina on July 29, 2025, 12:43:05 PMAh, I see that now. :) I might switch to a general store since that still provides a pretty good rumor mill then (and I don't want to step on Blythrus's toes)

I think it's a GM character running the original brothel!

My girlie runs a saloon, not a brothel! But if you want to run a general store, I'd absolutely love to plot some pre-existing connections between our characters' businesses! My saloon owner will need to get supplies for the Revelry saloon from somewhere. Plus my saloon-owner loves gossip, so a fellow business-owner with some tea to spill? Yes, please! :-)

I also have some suggestions for faceclaims that I've been jotting down!

Going with the general store and for sure pming you, Blythrus! :)

Please do tell. :)

Can you tell me if there is a certain look you're going for? Hair color, eye color, build?

Kind of a brunette or redhead with medium height. :) She took over a fellow housewife upon her revival, so there's still muscle there. Certainly some curves? (My description is a bit lacking and I apologize)

By the way, considering the time of the setting of the RP, would there be a level of conservative views about certain character's lifestyles, sexual preference, etc?

Also, women holding certain roles (such as a Blacksmith, for my character) were frowned upon, so there would probably be a lot of men who wouldn't trust her.

Just curious what the general social vibe would be, as that would dictate a level of discretion with certain aspects of her life.

Wulfspire

Gender roles and sexualities are not going to be strictly accurate for the period. Abaddon County contains a lot of the Hollowed who do not necessarily subscribe to those traditions, and many humans followed suit. This game is very friendly to breaking out of those traditions.

Sounds good, thank you :)

We do not mind adding in elements of homophobia or sexism though and definitely want to explore the topic of discrimination when it comes to the Hollowed. If it's an aspect you'd like to explore with the character we can have it that women have these positions of power, but many people aren't happy about it. So, Revel allows for women to hold office, own businesses, vote, all of that, but the townsfolk might not be happy with it necessarily. If that makes sense?

I have wanted too play those sorts of characters before, so I don't wanna shut that down for you.

Yeah, that's kind of how I might see it happening. Like, it's not an over-arching issue, but people are people and they always find a reason to be upset with something.

I'll most likely pepper in some aspects like that as it tends to add to the drama and make things a bit more mixed and realistic.

I mean, there's already enough supernatural weirdness keeping people on their toes, lol

Sue Cassidy will be seeking employees for the Revelry saloon! Human or Hollowed welcome! Sue cares not for a person's origin, she cares about working as little as possible, so she's eager to have personnel on board!

* A Skinweaver lounge singer, someone to entertain the patrons of the Revelry. Wanting to make a Skinweaver but hoping to express powers of Desire in a way a bit different than what you might get having them work at the brothel? The unrequited desire of those lusting for a beautiful person with a siren-like voice could be fun!

* Human employees! Waitresses, cleaners, and a carpenter (hey, stuff gets broken and needs fixed!), people to help maintain the night-to-night flow of the Revelry. Sue pays a fair wage, but if a character has addictions, she's more than happy to let them 'drink' their pay away....

* A brewer/distiller to help make beer and harder spirits. Sue makes her own accursed moonshine, but anything beyond that is such work! A human expert with alcohol would be welcome, or perhaps a gluttonous Pitbelly Hollowed eager to help people overindulge in the finest spirits they can make for Sue to sell for them?

@Blythe's post does remind me that my Blacksmith probably does quite a bit of work for the Saloon when it comes to metal fixtures and whatnot.

No doubt the occasional iron collar and chain set is on back order...

I'd love this! Plus some of her distillery equipment on-site might be metal, so if it is ever damaged, she might need to talk to a smithy about that!

And Luanne Lilium is open for connections :)

Luanne Lilium

Pronouns: She/Her
Apparent Age: 30
Job: Owner of the Lilium General Store
Type: Hollowed Vehementh
Sexuality: Unsure, but the ladies across her customers seem more appealing than the men? (Lesbian)
Face Claim: Nina Dobrev

Personality:
+ Motherly
+ Quick-Witted
+ Over-Protective
- Vengeful
- Conniving Temper
- Haunted

History: Luanne Meeks was simply a girl with a heart ever pure despite the humble life that her parents provided as farmers. After all, she saw a best friend in her younger sister, Carolina. People of the town, be it her parents or the other girls, around her never took kindly to her reading, but she was able to endure even the distance from the texts if meant she still had the sole bond.

It was a connection that would tested as her parents, seeing little prospect in her, aimed to marry her younger sister off to a nearby pastor, Luke Forte. While his reputation was seemingly upstanding, she couldn't ignore the fear in Carolina's eyes that suggested she was aware of something different.

She could not let that happen, so despite her stomach turning ever bit of the way, she crossed the lake and charmed Mr. Forte. With her ability to return to her home lost in the marriage that ensued, Luanne found exactly what fears she had sensed in the bruises and compounding responsibilities she took over the next ten years. Each time she looked at the door during the breakfast she slaved over, the threat from the bastard that he would simply take Carolina as his wife if she dared run chained her to the last conviction she held.

The need to leave or do anything still seethed in her mind regardless of her commitment. Having no words from her younger sister past the occasional look in church meant that she was lost in the day-to-day cycle of her awful wedded life. She could hold a knife correctly right through a cigarette burn. Why couldn't she hold it right in his chest just as easily?

The mixture of her purity and pain finally left her broken one too many a time a decade into her marriage. Tired and almost delirious, she set the pastor's dog free as a distraction. With a sharp knife tight in her hand, she began to make a mad dash into the forest, feeling that if she could get across the lake, she could wrench away Carolina and swiftly stop anyone in her way from getting them out of town. Despite all that bursting drive and conviction pouring out, it did not halt the bleeding doing so as well from a bullet of the pastor's rifle. Her seeming last thoughts were screaming ".....If the afterlife sees to it, I will drag you down just like this lake!!!"

While the rift saw fit to return her to the body of a housewife to commit such a deed at that moment, the first useless husband that met her blade was not the pastor, but the owner of a general store.....several states away from her demise. The rage bubbled inside her as any attempt to leave the county nearly drowned her back to hell once more. Hence, Luanne took the last name of the business owner and migrated his brand to Revelry as of the last several years to seethe while she found a permanent solution to her issue of distance from the bastard and the little sister she kept raging on for. She was hardly alone in terms of wives that needed....a little push...to handle their own problems.

Additional info: A life of being locked into a condemning marriage has left Luanne forced to learn the tradition homemaking skills for her own survival. Be it mending a stitch, ensuring the budget doesn't fall to ruin, or making a delicious apple pie, she has it down to rights. While she lacked the chance to use it in her first life, having to keep such an expert grip on her tools has resulted in them.......coming naturally......when she takes her anger into her own hands.

Powers:

-Chains of Commitment: Luanne is capable manifesting piping hot chains from her ankles, neck, and wrists that act as appendages in her own control.

-The Hit List: If there's one vital tool in her midst, it's Luanne's ability to the take the names of those who cause strife she learns of and manifest a rather descriptive page into a book she holds giving details of the new target in appearance and vices. They will all get what's coming to them eventually.

-Now, Once More, With Vicious Clarity: Our spiteful vehementh is quite good at sparking the seeds of vengeance. With an affirming squeeze of her hand, she can make all those pesky "But he's really good inside"s, "I can fix him"s, and "I really was just being clumsy"s pushed out of the way for the next day or so.

-Set to Burst: Luanne can also truly make the rooms she resides in feel like an oven, doing all the more to make the situation tense and literally heated.

Connections:
-Susanna "One Shot" Cassidy: One of Luanne's greatest business partners as a follow Hollowed, she buys her supplies from the wrathful wife's store. However, their greatest transactions happen to be gossip. Luanne gets to learn of any abused woman, while Sue gets to learn of all the addicts and bums she finds passing through her storefront. The pair have a devilish friendship of spilt tea, being lost in their issues with little sign of stopping.

Ons & Offs: Under her melting soul lies a want for a companionship and vivid romance full of snuggling, kisses, and body worship. Of course, men, snuff, gore, force, and grime are all off the table for quite obvious reasons.

**Along with your character sheet, please give us at least three plot ideas that you would like to explore with your character throughout the game.**
-Luanne needs assistance arranging to bring her ex-husband into the boundary, for she still wishes to send him to hell.
-She also hopes to find a way to pry her younger sister into the safety of her patronage. A fact made harder when she lacks her original body, nor knows what has became of her in the years she has been gone. Closure is the word for sure, whether it be news of her current state or actually coming into town.
-With all the hidden rage burning in her heart, Luanne has yet to address her own needs and process much of her death. She truly needs a shoulder and maybe a new hobby or two.-Overall, she is in need of far more wholesome companionship than she was cuffed to in life, so a cute romance to sweep her off her feet would be nice.

I've heard word of this fabulous game, and the world-building is extensive.
Kudos to y'all!
At this moment, I'll keep an eye on the story as it progresses, as IRL is a bit hectic right now and I don't want to spread myself too thin.
But I'm loving this premise and theme!
Y'all had me at supernatural and western... but also horror! That's like a Trifecta of awesome.

Exactly. I feel like she probably knows many of the residence and business owners in town just through odd jobs.

Hello there,
Very nice setting! I'll keep an eye on this and congrats for all the writing.

@Blythe I'm thinking my Sheriff's Deputy is going to be a regular at the saloon. Girliepop's got a bit of a drinking habit.  D:
