Mavis Albright
Basic Information
Name: Mavis Albright-Cath
Alias: Broadside, "MAC"
Role: New Hero
Gender: Feminine Dominant
Sexuality: Gender-Blind Demisexual
Age: Physically - 25yrs, Mentally - 18yrs [Human Standard]
Height/Build: 6'8"ft (182cm) & 235lbs (106kg)
Hair/Eye Colour: Sunlight Blonde/Ultramarine Blue
Faceclaim: Taylor "Tayrex" Nelms
Notable Features: Unquestionable "Uncanny Valley" façade in both appearance and aesthetic. Single Nasal Piercing; Absent Rite of Birth

Personality & History

Personality: Mavis is an all-around altruist at heart. Therefore the majority of her characteristic traits involve wanting to help others in nearly any way she possibly can. Although as the sayings "No good deed [...]" and "The path to Hell is paved with [...]" go, not many who come across her would be able to distinguish such a forceful optimism. Of course, it's only a microcosm of what Mavis's moral compass centers. Where she finds fault in many things that could be perceived as malicious or malevolent, others might call a grey area. Thus the lines of what is right and wrong may be blurred when Mavis is caught in the middle. In this area of mental strength, Mavis falls notoriously short, and suffers from the delusion of grandeur involving heroism and villainy. Especially when the example led by others often delves into said grey area nearly every time a documented act is reported. A believer in Absolutes, Mavis often finds herself confused when introduced to complex ideas, or instructions. Meaning of course the woman tends to takes things literally and realistically to a fault that borders on dangerous levels in times of discretion and pragmatism. For honesty, respect, and valor are true traits of a hero; or so she thinks. Given these are essentially the qualities she believes a Hero should possess, she sticks to these principles to a degree that's aptly attributed as "inhuman."

History: Known only in documentation through secret classification as "The Absent", Mavis hails from a frustratingly complex web tree of deep space dwellers that may or may not truly even exist as far as Earth knows. A collective somewhere out in the void of all things that managed to reach out and touch base with the floating paradise of mostly humanoid beings, the early gestation of the Absent was nothing short of a pinned incident in comparison to what the planet had been through. First contact had been made whomever-may-know long ago, and was established rather quickly, save for the only stipulation that while these dark beings remained among the denizens of Earth, that their identities be transparent. While these space-walking neighbors agreed to do so, the oversight of just what and whom exactly these people were came at as a surprise once the studies and interviews were complete. Not unlike some of the super-powered inhabitants of the world, these creatures too possessed unnatural capabilities and abilities beyond normal measure.

Mavis however, was a star among most of her peoples' scarce numbers. She was almost a perfect embodiment of humanoid means in nearly every way. Except of course for the unnervingly large stature and insane levels of sheer willpower one would expect of a young Absent who drew breath for the first time. Born in the oldest recorded place on the continental Northern Hemisphere of St. Augustine Florida, Mavis started her life off with nothing short of a simplistic childhood for her own sake. Early on her forebears knew something wasn't quite right with the child. Whereas she maintained a rather unhealthy strength and glow about her, the intellect of her species and genius-level mental fortitude seemed... Lacking. Her folks figured it must be a side-effect of having spliced their peoples' DNA with what local material they could safely and ethically gather from Earth, and wrote it off. There was hope that the educational system Earth provided would at least keep Mavis on par with Humanity, if only to prevent unnecessary risk to both their daughter and the people around her.

By the time Mavis had reached her age of Rite, it had been decided by her bearers that the mark of the Absent was to be carried on regardless. Though after having come to terms with making sure the youngest of their kind was prepared for the world to become one of its denizens by societal means, it was too late to make any true choices. Mavis had already fallen in love with the idea of heroics and protecting the inhabitants of the planet and utilizing her special talents for the betterment of everyone. To act as some sort of bridge between the indigenous inhabitants and the Absent as they were. Only after learning of the truth behind their first contact until recent note, Mavis felt somewhat anxious about the fact that her people hadn't been to Earth only a handful of times... But in fact, had been visiting "Terra" regularly in order to study and assimilate with the populous. For what true purpose, she didn't know, nor was she told... Since at the time she was expected to be enlightened on everything, including what it meant to be a Hero for her kind.

Superpowers:

  • Absent Physiology: Mavis's main attributes pertain to many Superhuman-Level aspects she possesses due to her natural state-of-being. Which consists of: Strength beyond natural Human means, Invulnerability to most conventional threats, and a Redundant Stem-Cell Structure capable of healing all manner of bodily injury when given enough time to recover.
  • Prime Senses: Mavis's main sensory system is unnaturally heightened. Unless actively focused in utilizing her main senses to Track, susceptibility to overstimulation can cause her to seize up and shut down.
  • Rebound Kinetics: Mavis's physical self is capable of absorbing unnatural forces from outside threats. When actively receiving kinetic force, she is able to absorb and redirect it back to its source.

Equipment:

  • Banded Suit: Coverall Suit of Mavis's meant for all-weather, all-terrain, and all-situational hazards. Often worn underneath civilian clothing when not in immediate use.

Skills:

  • "Bloodhound" Scent: Mavis is able to differ certain scents and distinguish heat and light to track down persons and items of interest; a side-effect of dealing with myriad flora and fauna alike during her upbringing.

Weaknesses:

  • Low Speed: Mavis isn't the fastest being on the planet. Primarily due to her size and partly due to relying mostly on instinct and reflex for majority of her life. However, being built the way she is, damage and injury is a non-issue for the most part in order to make up for her inability to accelerate quickly.

  • Low I.Q.: Mavis isn't the brightest bulb among those around her. Almost dangerously so, should she slip into a confusion-induced frenzy or fit of rage when tasked with remembering too complex of a task or instruction. Inversely, this makes her semi-immune to mental attacks and hypnosis.

HISTORY
Cetus was the son of a female Atlantean whose name is likely lost to history. She was probably a Poseidonian, the dominant ethnicity of Atlantis. This woman was notable because she was the daughter of Garn Daanuth, who was himself the son of Majistra the Atlantean Goddess of Darkness and Calculha, the Atlantean God of Light. Cetus’s father was an Idylist, which was a pacifist nation within the Kingdom of Atlantis.

The young Demigod saw nis nation subjected to oppression because they are pacifists and he experienced oppression by his nation because he had purple eyes which his nation rejects as a perversion of nature. The reality is that among Atlanteans, purple eyes denotes magic potential. Both of these set the foundation for his later rejection of Atlantean society.

Because his people rejected him based on the color of his eyes, Cetus traveled to Poseidonis (the capital of the Kingdom of Atlantis) and joined the Atlantean Army, called the Men-of-War. He wanted to be of service to his nation and he did not advertise the fact that he was of near descent to the Gods. During his military training he was recruited into the Drift, the elite black operatives for the crown of the Kingdom of Atlantis.

Cetus spent the next several years fighting the Trench, every element of Atlantean society plotting on taking the monarchy for themselves, every surface organization that threatened the ocean, including every incarnation of Black Mantis. During this time his abilities began to grow and he gained the attention of the Silent School, an academy of Magic that serves the King of Atlantis directly.

Recruited into the silent school, there he developed the abilities he was born with due to being a demigod and an Atlantian, more deeply and he learned the Silent School of Atlantean Magic. The problem is that the Silent School was just as martial as the Drift, in fact, they often worked in tandem. So he continued fighting the Trench, the enemies of the Sea, and the enemies of the Monarchy.

Somewhere along the way, multiple traumas compounded themselves on one another. Cetus grew weary and disdainful of the constant political infighting inherent to the Atlantean people. He found a mortal teacher known as I-Ching, he learned how to breathe and meditate, and he learned martial arts. He learned how to quiet and center the mind and the body.

Not long after he found himself as a student at Georgetown College of the Arts of Georgetown University. His favorite professor and faculty advisor Donovan Caine. His favorite classes were about human nature and the mind and eventually, Cetus, now calling himself Chiaro Scuro became a Doctor of Clinical Psychology. He got a job with nearby Perry Point Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Maryland where he worked with patients diagnosed with combat induced PTSD.

As the machinations of the Dark Multiverse began to come to light and Dr. Caine invited him to join the New Justice League, he realized that he would have to become a hero. Cetus, adopting the sobriquet Leviathan, went on a journey. Using contacts he had made among the Amazons, he arrived in New Themyscira. A small group of Amazons accompanied him to Olympus where he found the Greek God Hephaestus and convinced him to construct weapons and armor.

Hephaestus constructed an ax and a double sided, double ax dagger out of Eighth metal. Hephaestus took the Flashing Blade that Wonder Woman broke into two pieces and reforged them into two different weapons. Lastly Hephaestus  constructed a metal mesh weaving out of Nth metal, designed not to interfere with swimming and then Leviathan received all of these items.

Whereas in the past, the Demigod embraced the role of soldier and agent, now he reluctantly took up the mantle of the hero. It’s not that he can’t do war or violence. In high pressure environments his trauma symptoms nearly disappear. When he puts himself in actual danger, the hypervigilant alarm system that is PTSD finally rests. But he wants to live a quiet, normal, peaceful life because he doesn’t like who he is in combat, and he believes he deserves to be at peace.

Once the current situation has reached a conclusion, Leviathan has every intention to return to just being Dr. Chiaro Scuro, and helping people for a living. He will place the Olympus made weapons and armor under the care and protection of the Amazons and fade into obscurity. But first there is a Dark Multiverse to see to . . . . .

Age: 19 Years Old
Sexual Orientation: Hetrosexual
Base of Operations:  JLA Watchtower
Powers: Super Speed, Flight, Super strength, super healing, laser eyelids and freeze breath.

History:

When a crazed villain named Radion attacks Metropolis, a young girl in a costume leaps into battle and throws the villain into a nuclear reactor (in front of a TV news crew and Lois Lane). The girl identifies later herself as Supergirl, Superman's daughter. Upset, Lois confronts Superman, accusing him of having an affair (even listing Wonder Woman and Zatanna as possible lovers), and refusing to believe his claim of innocence, since "Supergirl" looks just like him. However, after a cup of the new "Yes" coffee, Lois suddenly calms down and dismisses "Supergirl" as a villain's hoax, until she lands in front of Lois and calls her "Mommy". Superman confronts the girl, who argues that she is his daughter with Lois, and that her name is "Cir-El". Cir-El says that she is from the future, brought to the past by the Futuresmiths. When Superman encounters the Futuresmiths, they show him a horrific future, with robotic monsters attacking civilians, and he sees himself as a cybernetic Superman attacking civilians as well. The Futuresmiths tell him that Cir-El's death will prevent this future, and as they turn to attack her, Superman flies her to safety. S.T.A.R. Labs confirms that she is his daughter, but that Lois is not her mother. Regardless of her identity, Superman comes to regard Cir-El as family.

Cir-El helps Superman fight off a diseased Bizarro. Later, with the aid of Natasha Irons and Girl 13, she fights off a vengeance-crazed superhuman ninja who is trying to kill Superman. When Superman and Batman are said to be "captured" by President Lex Luthor in Superman/Batman "Public Enemies", Cir-El teams up with Superboy, Krypto, Natasha Irons, and the Batman Family to rescue them. Batman, not actually having been captured, is the one to save Cir-El and Superboy from a White House death trap.

Superman has a shock when, while talking to Cir-El, she changes into an angry young woman named Mia, who hates her Cir-El persona. Superman's Kryptonian robot Kelex subsequently confirms that Cir-El is not the Man of Steel's biological daughter (despite the evidence from S.T.A.R. Labs). While the girl's D.N.A. has some Kryptonian attributes, she is primarily human.

Equipment: Iphone.

Relationships: Superman/Clark Kent (Farther Adopted Deceased) Lois Lane Kent (Adopted Mother), Bruce Wayne (Godfarther) Lucy Lance (Aunt) General Sam Lane (Grand-farther Deceased)
