Justice League

DARK MULTIVERSE RPG

A Role Playing Game Set in the DC Universe, showing the expansion of the Justice League. Combining the DCEU Canon with the beloved mythology of the comics and Animated features. The storyline focusses on the rise of the Dark Multiverse after the attack of and apparent death of Darkseid.  The walls of the multiverse are down and five former heroes turned villain's want to destroy and rule all of the multiveres. I will allow new takes on canon characters in DC lore and original characters providing they adhere to the DC Canon. Aka they can be Aliens, Meta Humans, Techo-Machine creations, Amazons, Atlantians, Magical Beings and Vigilante's.

What would be fun would be versions of the familiar heroes and heroines but as created by you. They can come from any of the established DC canon universes.

The Year is 2020.

"What IS the Dark Multiverse"

The Dark Multiverse is a shadow under the primary Multiverse created by Perpetua, one formed of every fear and bad decision ever made or dreamt. Worlds in the Dark Multiverse are fragile and constantly deteriorating, inevitably doomed to destruction by their own malformed construction. Contrary to the worlds of the normal Multiverse, those from the Dark Multiverse have their name preceded by a minus sign, such as Earth -52 compared to Earth 0, for instance. Each of those inverse worlds shown so far bears some degree of thematic resemblance to its positive counterpart.

t wasn't always the case however. At the dawn of creation, the Dark Multiverse was known as the World Forge, the realm of a cosmic being known as the World Forger, the equal to the Monitor and the Anti-Monitor. It was there that worlds were created out of the pure metal of creation, the stable ones joining the Orrery of Worlds while the unstable ones were destroyed with their components being used again to create more worlds. This destruction was the task of Barbatos, then known as the Great Dragon. After eons serving his master, he rebelled against The Forger, killed him and turned the World Forge into today's Dark Multiverse.
Because of its nature as the cradle of yet unborn worlds, the number of worlds in the Dark Multiverse is far greater than in the normal Multiverse, as seen when Barbatos chose to show to Batman the "galaxies" of worlds born from his fears. Other heroes also have had an impact on the Dark Multiverse, with many twisted versions of heroes such as The Flash, Aquaman, and Wonder Woman preparing to invade the Multiverse, even if they could have been created by Batman's fears all the same.
First found in the prime Multiverse on Prime Earth by the Blackhawk Squadron and the Challengers of the Unknown, the Dark Multiverse's agents, the Court of Owls, engineered the "mantling" of Batman using the five heavy metals of the Dark Multiverse, Nth Metal, Promethium, Dionesium, Electrum, and Batmanium, sending him to that corrupted multiverse while bringing forth their master, Barbatos, and his Dark Knights formed of Bruce Wayne's nightmares.
With the help of the Multiversal Tuning Fork, Steel, the Flash, and the Phantom Zone Projector, Superman infiltrated the Dark Multiverse in search of Batman, only for his entrance to be part of a trap by the denizens, who hooked him up to the same machine that Batman was in order to use him as a battery to drive the Multiverse into the dark, letting loose Superman's own nightmarish versions in the process. The core Justice Leaugers fought these Dark versions in battle and were somehow presumed slain. Who will answer the Call now as the NEW JUSTICE LEAUGE?

Player Name:
VoluptiousVixen
Real Name: Dinah Drake Lance (Green Canary) Formerly Black Canary
Age: 35 Years Old
Sexual Orientation: Hetrosexual
Base of Operations: Mobile on her Bike (Formerly), Clocktower in Gotham aka BOP Headquaters, Hall of Justice, JLA Watchtower
Powers: Canary Cry, Sound Immunity, Master Martial Artist, Swords woman, and Green Lantern will holder.
Weaknesses: Aside of her special powers she is a regular human but her Ring is effected by Yellow rays.
History:

Dinah Drake was born the child of a teenaged single mother, handed into foster care at the age of four. Considered a troublemaker, she moved from foster home to foster home and finally ran away at the age of ten. Taking to the streets of Gotham, she was caught dumpster-diving by Desmond Lamar, an ex-Special Forces agent and martial arts sensei, who took her in and offered her a job to clean his dojo after classes. In return, he would provide her with food and a safe place to sleep. At her request, Lamar took to teaching her the same skills he provided his students, and she became his regular. When Lamar contracted fatal brain cancer, he left her his dojo. Unfortunately, he was the only one who could keep the local gangs from getting protection money out of them. Dinah's martial arts prowess could only keep them at bay for so long. Eventually, she began losing students who feared the possibility of their retaliation. Flashbacks show that during Zero Year, Dinah's dojo was destroyed in a fire. It was at this point, John Lynch, impressed by her martial arts prowess in taking down several ninjas during an attack, recruited her into Team 7.
During her tenure with Team 7, Dinah works as a covert ops agent in charge of infiltration. She is given the codename Operative Canary. It is during this time that Dinah secretly marries her longtime partner, Kurt Lance. Her powers are subsequently awakened after being tested metagene-positive. Toward the end of the Team 7 run, during a mission to retrieve Pandora's Box, Dinah's sonic scream surfaces and are amplified by Kurt's, the after-effect of which ultimately destroyed the island of Gamorra. In the aftermath, Kurt is presumed dead, and Team 7 is mothballed, leaving Dinah a fugitive on the run from authorities and an outlaw codenaming herself Black Canary.
After the Justice League and the Suicide Squad had to work together to stop Maxwell Lord, Batman assembled a new team of heroes (and some former villains) he called the Justice League of America and recruited Black Canary. When Hal Jordan *DIED* Dinah was gifted with his ring as the new Green Lantern.

Face Claim: Liam Hemsworth
Character Basics
Full Name: Thorion
Nickname(s): The Dog of War
Age: looks about mid 20's
Race: New God
Parent: Darksied
Gender: Cis-Male
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Hair Color: Red
Eye Color: Blue (his eyes glow red when angry)
Height: 6' 1"
Weight: 240 lbs
General Description: Piercing blue eyes, hair kept shortly cropped. He trains and works out religiously, its been an expectation from his father since birth that he live up to the other great heroes of New Asgard. He needs to do some big things to be thought of in their category. He doesn't like it when people mistreat others or animals.

Personality: Thorion is many ways his father’s son. He is prone to brooding, dark moods, and violence. His rage makes him a powerful and unrelenting combatant, but also makes him reckless. Thorion is equal parts heroic warrior and wrathful warlord. Thorion is famed for his tenacity and unwavering devotion to destroying Darkseid and his minions. The New Gods of Asgard have taught him another way of being and bring out his more heroic traits.

Backstory: Thorion was born to Darkseid, the Lord of Apokolips, and his wife Gaia. Shortly after his birth Thorion was fostered to New Asgard as part of a peace treaty brokered between Darkseid and Highfather Odin of the New Gods of Asgard. Rather than growing up on Apokolips’ constant diet of cruelty and darkness, the young Thorion found himself loved and well-treated by his foster family.

After a period of adjustment Thorion became one of New Asgard’s fiercest warriors. His love of battle and barely contained rage earned him the nickname “Dog of War.” Thorion is fated to kill his father, Darkseid, in an epic battle in the fire pits of Apokolips. This is a fate he accepts and often anticipates. On several occasions it seemed that final battle was in progress, but the true time for that showdown is unknown.

New God Physiology
Because of Thorion's location of creation which is in a realm near an all consuming presence called the Source, it seems as if using the energy from the Source Wall and using their own kind of technology has evolved the New Gods, including Thorion, into something of a race of higher level, perfect superhumans. This means they have the same physical image as humans but are far smarter, stronger, faster, more durable, more agile and more flexible.

*Immortality
*Superhuman Stamina
*Superhuman Speed
*Superhuman Senses
*Superhuman Reflexes
*Superhuman Agility
*Regeneration
*Immunity to Disease
*Super Breath

Astro Force
Thorion also is able to harness an inter-dimensional energy called the "Astro Force". Also known as the "wrath of the Source" it is an energy powerful enough to send Starro into shock, destroy/shift planets, rock solar systems, and even contain universe destroying forces. Given to him by Highfather of New Genesis and equaled only by the Omega Force under Darkseid's control.
* Energy Manipulation:This cosmological force has enabled Thorion to manipulate most any and all forms of energy for multitudinous purposes. One showing he could use it to create an energy shield powerful enough to deflect Darkseid's "Omega Effect". It should be noted that Darkseid wanted this to happen, however even when amped with Anti life + Omega force, the Astro-force held up for Thorion so it might be a legitimate counter. He primarily uses it in conjunction with his Astro Harness to better focus and augment these energies but he himself can utilize it to eviscerate most anything he chooses to turn the force on, the blasts are so potent they can even stagger an amped Superman sending him halfway across the earth/one-shot Firestorm.
* Matter Manipulation: More than once Thorion has used the Astro force to control and alternate matter however he sees fit. he can rearrange his civilian clothing into New Genesis garb, restore his broken Astro Bands as as well as the Astro Harness itself whenever broken and restore his eyesight by physically transplanting those of another's into his own sockets.
* Power Augmentation:Thorion can utilize his astro energies to enhance himself and his other abilities well beyond the natural norm for him. When revived by High-Father in the 30th century (still terribly weakened) Thorion & Darkseid's fight nearly destroyed the planet.
* Ailment Suppression: He can use it to suppress pain even pain induced by his brother Kalibak-Loki's beta club.
* Reality Restoration: He can use the Astro Force to undo a twisted reality warp done by the source itself.
* Size Alteration: Can voluntarily increase his size and mass to incredible proportions.
* Flight: In the rare instances he is without his normal means of transport, the new god can utilize his internal energies for unaided aviation.
* Immutability Shielding: On more than a few occasions Thorion has utilized the Asrto Forces in order to give himself resilience and protection against lethal continence such as the life absorbing properties of the Morrow Box which can drain planets dry. He can also use it to break a stasis field he's trapped in, resist the elemental transmutation by Slig of the deep six.

Stormbreaker
Stormbreaker is a symbolic weapon of Thorion, a weapon forged from Uru metal, whose chief properties are durability, the ability to maintain enchantment, and absorb energies. Stormbreaker resembles dwarven a Warhammer. Stormbreaker itself is already extremely durable and combined with the various enchantments placed upon it by Highfather Odin, is even harder. It has survived heat as extreme as the heart of the Sun, and blasts powerful enough to destroy planets.
* Tranformation: Can change Thorions clothes into anything he wants, including his heroic outfit
* Mystical Link: Stormbreaker obeys Thorion’s commands as though it were alive, and if Thorion’s will is strong enough, the hammer can pass through nearly any barrier to reach him should he so chooses
* Weather Control: Wielding Stormbreaker grants Thorion the ability to control the base elements of a storm, i.e., rain, wind, thunder, ice, snow, and more.
* TeleportationBy grasping Stormbreaker by the leather thong and rapidly swirling it, Thorion can channel energies for the purpose of opening gateways through means of a vortex[287] and in this vortex time has no meaning, which means he and others can pass through it to their destinations instantaneously.

Just curious, what system is this game going to use?

I am a HUGE nerd over DC, particularly the lesser known properties, so this piques my interest greatly!

Face Claim:Prince Harry
Name: Charles Victor Szasz aka Vic Sage
Alias: None
Archetype: The Question
Age: 19
Height: 6' 2”
Weight: 185 lbs
Hair Color: Red (Brown under the effects of Pseudoderm adhesive)
Eye Color: Blue (Cannot be seen under Pseudoderm)
Race: Human
Gender: Male
Personality: Victor grew up in an orphanage and never knew his parents.  When he realized he carried he same name as a ruthless murderer, he began going by Victor (Vic) Sage.  Without any history of his own, he began trying to find meaning in the seemingly random world around him, turning him into a lifelong conspiracy theorist.  When Dr Fate offered to help him see the pattern behind the ebb and flow of all reality, he jumped at the chance.  Victor is a study in contradictions.  He's a loner but he's left a long list of broken hearts behind him and is more than capable of working with a team.  He's paranoid but he's naive.  His true face is not the one he wears but the one he will assume when he becomes The Question; a blank featureless mask.  He has been called a sociopathic narcissist but then those were the words of a jilted ex-lover, so they need to be taken with a grain of salt.  The things he is interested in, he borders on the fanatical.  All else he finds boring.  He is passionate about journalism, justice and finding the answer to the ultimate question: "What's REALLY going on?".  His harsh upbringing, martial arts training and 'true warrior spirit' has helped him to forge an iron will.

Current Story: In a city as corrupt as Hub City, it would be a miracle if someone hadn't started training orphans as pick-pockets and burglars.  A masked man who called himself Fagin was responsible for instructing selected pre-teen orphans in these skills as well as the more computer based skills of hacking and identity theft.  Victor was an excellent student but he saw the damage his actions were causing and turned against the gang.  He ended up being frequently beaten for refusing to obey Fagin.

Victor spent as much  time as he could away from the orphanage and Fagin's gang as possible but he still received frequent beatings from the other orphans until he learned to properly defend himself.  He learned akido and kung fu under the tutelage of Richard Dragon.  The philosophy of the martial arts helped him deal with his anger issues and introduced him to spirituality and objectivism. The skills he learned allowed him to defend himself.  When he was finally able to give back better than he got, the gang left him alone, knowing that, even if he went to the police, no one would believe him.

Victor was able to discover a use for his second-storey skills when he reached high-school – gymnastics and to a lesser extent, acrobatics.  He applied himself to these disciplines.  He competed at the state level but did not manage to win a spot on a national team.  He continued his gymnastics while in college but never found a teacher as dedicated as he was.

A chance encounter with the school paper editor sparked his interest in journalism as a career.  He learned the skills an investigative report would need from Lois Lane herself.  He developed a crush on her; she thought his interest was creepy.  The investigative skills he learned, combined with his awareness of the corruption in Hub City, spurred him to seek out the underlying factors that were responsible for all things.  His interest (some say obsession) with conspiracy theories got its start at this  point.  He continued his interest in journalism into college and has earned some time in front of the college news cameras as an a roving reporter, with an eye on the anchor position.

Powers: NA
Psedoderm Mask - Victor has access to Pseudoderm (an artificial skin replacement) and the adhesive that affixes it to human skin.  The adhesive has the additional ability to alter the colour of specially treated organic materials, like clothing and hair, explaining Victor's altered appearance when acting as the Question.

Urban Shaman – A extension of his Zen philosphy, Vic has developed the ability to commune with the 'heart' and 'soul' of any large city, as if it were a person.  He can frequently get help by offering stream-of-consciousness improv poetry as incantations.

Cities know everything that happen within them (barring cloaking effects). They can provide clear portents when supplicated. For instance, a dripping fluid could form an arrow pointing toward what the shaman is looking for or a long crack could appear in the pavement leading the supplicant to a specific place.

Vic is in touch with chthonic energy – known as ley lines, chi, earth forces, etc.. In his view they are channeled through large cities rather than, say, megalithic alignments or ponds with crooked bridges. If he’s present at a major nexus (such as a major Hong Kong building built to act as a feng shui node, Stonehenge, etc.) he will soak chi in and become even more dangerous.

Spiritual Combat (Astral Projection)
Vic can meet other shamanic types in a sort of spirit combat. This is feasible as long as both fighters will have some type of astral projection ability.  The fight is invisible in the physical world. The only thing onlookers can notice is that the two fighters must speak truthfully to each other whilst the spirit fight rages on. The loser must either surrender or flee, and seems to have no choice in the matter.  Beyond dueling, astral projection can be used to spy around. Vic has to physically touch a building to see it from the spirit plane, but once he does he can see and hear everything that goes inside, have his invisible spirit form move closer to observe something, etc.

Vic can also operate machinery from the spirit plane. For instance he could fight men physically and at the same time spiritually activate nearby elevators or water sprinklers.

The spirit plane further touches the realm of the dead. Sage uses this to commune with and contact the recently deceased who are prevented from moving on. For a spirit to linger on seems to require exceptional circumstances, though.

Abilities: Victor is a dedicated martial artist, studying akido and kung fu.
He is a skilled gymnast and acrobat having applied himself to these disciplines in high school and college but he is not an Olympian by any measure.
His time in Fagin's orphan gang has given him some skill at picking pockets and locks, although he is by no means an expert.
His interest (some say obsession) with conspiracy theories,  coupled with his journalism training have made him a skilled investigator and a tenacious sleuth.
He is skilled with computers and has hacked into government websites more than once.

Character Relations: In high school, Vic had a huge crush on Lois Lane, who was edition of the school newspaper when he was just developing an interest in journalism.  She found him creepy and avoided him as much as possible but would likely recognize him if they met.

I had a different idea here before, but it turned others off so I am going to work on a Booster Gold instead.

Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I'm on the fence right now. I already have a lot of stories on the go and time tends to get the better of me sometimes. While I enjoy superhero ideas I always struggle to keep up with them.

Yeah, looking at the other characters, Vic is way out of his league. I think I’m going to pass on this one.

I dont think thats the case at all but I guess youv made youre minds up.

Cold Heritage

I'm going to write up a Booster Gold instead. It might sit better with people than what I had previously.
Thank you, fellow Elliquiyan, and have a wonderful day.

DrMcQuark

My interest, too, is piqued. I am considering either Zatanna, Supergirl or Mary Marvel.

These are not lock ins, so if you would like to play one of them just let me know. I have no problem with going with a different character. (Perhaps White Witch? Dr. Fate?)

Okay, I really need to stop now before I name everyone in DC I like.

(Harley?)

No, really that's it.

(Stargirl?)

Arrgh!!

Captain Whitebread

If the power level stays low, I will keep The Question. It made no sense playing a human (essentially) when a sneeze from any other character (or the villains that would be needed to challenge them) would splatter my character against a wall.

Cold Heritage

To the best of my knowledge, Booster Gold has a Legion flight ring, a forcefield generator, and some other doodad that lets him shoot lasers, so he's not as powerful as a Justice League headliner. I don't think his technology's as potent as what Lantern ring wielders can achieve, and it's not as versatile.
Thank you, fellow Elliquiyan, and have a wonderful day.

THE GREATEST SUPERHERO YOU WISH YOU'VE NEVER HEARD OF:
BOOSTER GOLD!

Player Name: Cold Heritage
Real Name: Michael Jon Carter
Age: 35 Years Old
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual
Base of Operations:
Powers: Booster Gold has no powers of his own. He is in good physical shape for his age.
Weaknesses: Booster Gold has no weaknesses! Booster's personality grates on a lot of people and he's just a normal guy, even if he is from the future. He's got very low self-esteem and overcompensates. Hard.
History:

In the 25th Century, Michael Jon Carter was a professional athlete in Neo-Metropolis. He committed the cardinal sin of betting on himself and throwing games for money. His wrong-doing was discovered and criminals beat Michael badly, leaving him with injuries that prevented him from ever playing again, although he was banned from all athletic competition by regulatory bodies. Michael was left to take a menial job cleaning a museum in Neo-Metropolis, and he languished in his own mediocrity for several years. He cleaned the monument to other's greatness by day, and watched tapes of his own lost greatness by night.

One night, Michael conceived of a brilliant, genius plan with no downsides: he stole a bunch of stuff from the museum and went back in time to Metropolis in the 20th Century! There, he adopted the moniker Booster Gold. Employing the historic records housed in his robot companion, Skeets, Booster Gold concocted a plan to supplant Superman as Metropolis's premiere superhero! With Skeets able to tell Booster about disasters before they happened, Booster was able to show up and save the day before the people of Metropolis could say 'It's a bird! It's a plane!' or a Big Blue Boyscout could say 'Up, up, and away!'

It worked, for a while. And Booster Gold was, briefly, the darling of Metropolis. Front page of the Daily Planet, special guest on day and night time talk shows, his face on mugs and t-shirts and anything people would pay him likeness rights for. However, Booster had no accounted for one thing: his actions messed with time. The more he put himself in the limelight, the more he messed with time, and the more Skeets' historical data became inaccurate. Booster finally clued in when he showed up intending to save a schoolbusful of children during a battle between Superman and Lex Luthor, but the battle never happened and the wheels on the bus went round and round all the way to school.

Skeets informed Booster of this timeline divergence, and Booster was devastated. Without the edge of foreknowledge, he could not compete with Superman, and Booster's five minutes of fame proved to be more like one and a half. Booster tried to be a hero, but even with Skeets listening on police chatter, Booster couldn't come close to Superman. His efforts to join the Justice League were rebuffed, and so Booster continued doing what good he was able to, getting by on residual checks, endorsement deals, and Skeets playing the stock market, crypto currencies, and NFTs.

When the core members of the Justice League died, Booster Gold took it in stride and assumed they'd be back sooner rather than later, but he stepped up anyway. Against someone's better judgement, they let Booster join the League on a probationary basis, with a strong implication that once the core Leaguers were back he would be off the team.

Equipment: Booster Gold's suit is fast from 25th Century supermaterials. It contains a forcefield generator that protects Booster from harm (while it's active). The gloves contain energy emitters that shoot gold beams. Booster can tune the intensity so they can just stun or deliver a stronger force. Booster has a Legion of Superheroes Flight Ring. It allows him to fly and travel through time (and space). He also has Skeets, a robotic companion with a 25th Century A.I. Skeets is constructed of 25th Century supermaterials, is about the size of a softball, flies, is 100% self-sustaining on clean energy, and he used to have pretty strong historical records. But they're grossly inaccurate now and stopped being worth anything like, two Crises ago. Don't think about it. Seriously, don't think about it or people who do care will come for Booster and take him away to some time-prison for chrono-deviants or something.

Skeets can interface with most 20th Century smart technology. Anything that's got Blue Tooth or wi-fi capability, Skeets can interact with, basically. However, Skeets isn't going to be able to hack the Bat-computer or anything like that. Booster totally didn't make Skeets try to do it ever stop asking, seriously stop asking that was Toyman or someone like that Booster wasn't even in Gotham the night you claim that took place, okay?

Relationships: Booster's best bud is . . . Skeets. Who's programmed to like him. He's . . . he's really not lonely. At all.
Thank you, fellow Elliquiyan, and have a wonderful day.

Bowen

Abilities and Attributes:

-Pique Physical Condition
-Exceptional Human strength
-Exceptional Human agility
-Lifelong combat training in Jiu-Jitsu, Taekwondo, Judo, Muay Thai, Savate, Karate, Kung Fu, Boxing, Capoeira, Krav Maga, Aikido, and Ninjutsu.
-Above average senses of smell, hearing and sight.

-Exceedingly wealthy

Gear: Wears a combat suit that greatly increases his own physical strength, speed and durability while also giving him combat logistics breakdowns, geolocation information, access to the worldwide internet network and worldwide database access provided he bypass any layers of security that they might have in place. He uses three foot long steel shock batons and a five foot lone steel bo staff weapons during combat unless he elects to take part in hand to hand combat exchange. He also uses a series of smoke bombs, grappling hooks and throwing weapons known as kunai.

Character traits: Dante is very much the strong and silent type that his father Bruce Wayne was. He possesses the original Batman's calm and careful tendencies as well as his sharp wit, though he is also not entirely unlike his mother Talia. Despite his best efforts to replicate his father's far more profound sense of emotional control, Dante still suffers from an absolutely vicious temper that he resents his own mother for passing on to him. He blames his mother for more than just that, of course, though he would never admit to the woman that gave life to him that he could have ever gotten under his skin or bothered him with anything that she did. To do so would be to concede territory in their competition of estranged silence would be to submit, which was something that he would never do. Not to the likes of Taliah al Ghul, anyway.
