Now, when you said a lower-tier hero, did you mean someone who's not in the NPC archive?  Could my character have been the former sidekick of Velocity?  Alternatively, I noticed the name "Volt" pop up in Velocity's history.  Could my character have been that guy's sidekick?

I'm also considering having my character's mentor be someone who got betrayed by Knox and/or one of the other superheroes, providing my character the necessary motivation to join Railroad.

Probably someone who's not mentioned in the archive. They're pretty much all big names. You could create an original hero in name-only that they were sidekick to. The name Volt is actually in there in error. I created Velocity then 'Volt' but I heavily shifted Volt's concept and he wound up being Tempest. So that actually needs adjusting - sorry.

That makes sense. I think one option would be to say that the PC's mentor got betrayed and killed by Knox or another hero and the sidekick got left for dead. It would explain why Knox isn't after them - they don't know they're alive.

Unless the game starts to get unmanageable (It is more popular than I expected) I'll keep recruiting ongoing until I run into issues GM'ing it. Still all good so far.

One idea I have is a character I've used before who are the Twins. They are a pair of fraternal twins that share the same body and their main power is energy absorption. Now I know energy absorption can be too overpowered, so I'm aiming for more Maverick level of powers.

One the other hand I'm also attempting to figure out other powers as well.

Not fully sure I follow how a pair of twins share the same body - especially when no superhumans in this game can get powers pre-birth.

The power is workable though.

Well, the twins have different powers, but the sister's powers was a one time use type thing to save her brother's life. The brother's powers are what they use and awaken a little later to save his sister.

With that I need to pause recruitment. There are more people than I expected and I want to see where we end up with the group we have before I think about re-opening it.
