So I've been getting into Mutants and Masterminds, at the behest of a certain friend who will probably pop into this thread as soon as they see it. I would really like to play a round or two of it, I have a character done up and ready, I just need a GM and maybe a few other players to join in!

EDIT to give a little clarity: So my character is a robot superheroine, who ended up taking over a villain's tech systems when she was converted into one of his slaves, and now has turned his formerly evil empire into something a bit more heroic. So, I'd like for a superhero setting, or at least, something that allows for robotic beings!

That would be me!  I too hope to find a GM.  M&M is a versatile system and can be used for a variety of genres and settings.  I've played in fantasy games, space operas and action anime themed ones for a start.

Though my girl in question is a robot, so keep that in mind, potential GMs! Also we are looking for probably a bit of a more high smut style game!

A fully-functional robot, I'm sure! :)

I have a number of character concepts and given a moment, will come up with some more!

Canon-esque examples include:

A teenage Psylocke sort, a telepathic girl raised and trained by ninjas, the discipline keeping her mental abilities focused.  Mix of martial arts and telepathic combat and senses.  Conceived of AS an age-reduced Betsy found by a ninja clan in a big multiverse crossover game... she's got such a specific motif it's hard to make generic.

Naked catgirl... like Tigra with no bikini, not feeling the need to dress since she has fur.  A mystic accident or genetic mutation, could be a speedster type cheetah or a brick/powerhouse sort.

Mystic Batgirl!  A mundane, highly-trained detective finds a mystic book or artifact on a case and reads it/gets it stuck to her, pushing her into the mystic side of things... she can't unsee what she's become aware of!  A succubus-themed gem giving her shapeshifting or shadow powers, or the ability to summon wings or a mystic bike, support powers, not vast destructive ones.  Or she's read through the whole tome and mastered some spells at the expense of her martial skills.

Mecha pilot heroine.  An inventor with a battle suit big enough to climb into... like a car that turns into a robot.  Skin tight pilot suit or just a bikini!  A bigger robot would be fun, but hard to work into most adventures.

Alien warrior princess!  A warrior princess from a distant world of swords and advanced technology is somehow teleported to Earth, and fights for justice as she searches for why she's here and how to get back.  Strong and skilled with a sword, supplemented by one or two bits of advanced technology or innate powers.  Might have four arms and green skin!

  I love all those concepts.

if I could play, that would be amazing.  I might be able to run.  (especially for you awesome people.)  Let me check my calendar.

I'd also throw my hat into the ring. I picked up the rulebooks recently, and it looks awesome. I'd love to be able to learn the system alongside you all. :)

(EDIT: At least, by play by post. If it's real time like in Discord, I might not be able to join, sadly)

Angie

Oh, it'll be play by post, for anyone concerned. 3rd Edition as well!

Huzzah! :) Now all I have to do is come up with an appropriate theme. :P

Would love to try creating a Lantern-esque hero (constructs and/or tentacles even!).

That said, I'm still getting a handle of the rules, so I'll be that guy who asks lots of questions. :P

I've actually been curious to try out M&M.  I haven't gotten to play before but I love superheroes and I tend to pick up systems pretty quickly.  I'd love to be involved if a GM for this shows up.

caelcormac

I love M&M! I'd love to get a chance to play if there is still room. I am a terrible GM for it unfortunatly.

Angie

Some more details about the girl I wanna play, since Muse has floated the idea of being a GM: The idea is after being converted into a robot by the villainous "One Mind", Choko became the Iron Maiden, taking over his systems and purging him from his own setup. Afterward, since there wasn't any way of turning the other converted drones back, she dismantled a lot of his old stuff and renovated his mansion into a more heroic, and friendly looking base. She's still figuring out exactly how far she can modify her body, but so far, she's been somewhat accepted by the city at large-a sexy fembot body helps with that! That said, the data files for how to make a Conversion Chair are still in the main computer, in case we need to permanently dispose of a villain...

I'm intending for Power Level 10, which gives us all a 150 point cap to play with. What other ideas you guys have?

Hey Azuresun. ^_^

And this is just a germ of an idea, but after doing more thinking, it might be more fun to try playing as a variation of the speedster. But to sum it up in a single phrase:

"Now you're thinking with portals."

I'm basing this idea off of the basic hero's handbook, but I'm thinking of playing a former thief who inherits a reclusive inventor's inventions. Among the failed experiments is a portal device, one that can - to a limited degree - allow him to go from point A to B so long as he has an accurate idea of where he's going. Using dirty tricks and acrobatics, he abuses the idea of 'speedy thing goes in, speedy thing goes out' to get the drop on criminals.

Idea and backstory are a work in progress, but on a PL 10 I think I could come up with something fun. Thoughts? Suggestions?

TFcommando

PL 10 is a good standard, though it depends on the genre... PL 8 works for more street-level or golden age heroes, 12 for more Justice League/Avengers sorts, but they're relative and not absolute measures and depend on the setting.  You can do a Batman at PL 8, 10 or 12 and it'd fit.

I have an "international street level" sort of concept I'd like to play in, but it didn't get many bites, and Angie's robotic transformation elements suggest a higher level of "Super"-ness.

Another setup I like is seen in a short supers in space solo game, where some Earth girls were kidnapped by a space emperor and put in his exotic harem, only to escape along with some "locals" in galactic civilization along with a hot ship to fight for freedom!  A more than a bit of Guardians of the Galaxy (and some John Carter) in there.

Angie and I played around with this in her introduction to M&M, where some of the girls from Love Hina were abducted by alien slavers, turned the tables on them but were lost in space on the pirate ship after that, and patched up by the ship's cyber-loving medical AI, some quite different than how they were!

One idea is that the start of the game might be just after the origin of the heroes, all captured and experimented on by a villain (or villain team/consortium, for diversity).  Not able to go back to who and what they were, the PCs stay together as a team!

Some of that could fit in the space game too, either existing heroes kidnapped or normal girls brought along too and exposed to something that changed them.  Angie's character was robotized, someone else might "just" have some cyborg implants, or exposed to an alien virus that caused some changes and such.

EDIT: SMUT

In the alien/space settings above, one smutty element is that wearing very little to nothing is the standard, as environmental force fields take the place of clothing.  Superheros already have scanty, exposing costumes and I like seeing that taken up a notch, maybe it's just the nature of the particular setting or world.  Shapeshifters like Mystique or Toga are effectively naked all the time, forming clothes from their powers... that could cause some exhibitionism or casualness about nudity.  A shadow-using hero might wear only a long cloak and boots, hiding her nudity with shadows beneath it.  I have a barely clad power-armor user in another supers game (and many of the other heroes there have costume-related issues).  So even without a lot of on-camera fucking, a lot of skin on display is a big like.

A general theory I have is that supers are going to be even more kinky than average people because of the nature of their job.  You strip down and change clothes in an alley all the time, then go flying or jumping over rooftops in a skintight or revealing costume, often peeking through windows and skylights on the way... because in some of them, criminals will be doing strange and perverse things.  You then jump in and wrestle with someone wearing a skintight or revealing costume too and then tie them up.  Or they tie YOU up!  You have blown off someone interested in your secret identity to do this.

Thus, all sorts of fun and unusual urges might start to express themselves.  Recently, we've seen Batman and Catwoman meet up and fuck on a rooftop, in the comics!  I can see more casual sex among supers, cutting to the chase, since a romantic dinner date will often be interrupted when a giant clown robot attacks the city.  Sex between teammates would be common as it's more convenient to be with someone who knows your secret.  This is a little less urgent with the cinematic universes downplaying secret IDs some, but still.  The good/bad dynamic between heroes and not-too-bad villains is also fun.  The Black Cat liked hanging around (and fucking... I think they did it before Peter and MJ did!) Spider Man, but was not into the Parker side of his life.  Catwoman and Batman is another textbook example, and, going back a ways, Captain America and Diamondback.

Now that brings up an interesting idea for a game, not a team game, but a social circle one.  Everyone is connected directly or indirectly, living in the same city and doing the superhero or villain thing!  Say each PC has a connection to two other PCs and then work out what that is.  This would work better on the lower end of the powers and scale thing, if not exactly street level, then people who aren't flying into space or halfway around the world at the drop of a hat.

The nature of a PbP game means that players could interact one on one without bringing the action to a halt.  There'd be some events that pull everyone in, others, just two or three.  This could be more complex for the GM, as there's more stories going on in different times and places, but also less, as much would be about the PCs interacting in and after fights and crisis, different people talking to each other over different issues.  The Black Cat might go to see Batgirl for some help on something forensics related, leading them on a caper together or maybe into bed!  Maybe it's too bold, or maybe it's old hat... I come at things from the tabletop RPG and PbP end of things instead of the story-writing one, so my go-to is a GM laying things out for a group of PCs in the same place at the same time.

*smiles*  Okay, if we include Pumpkin Seeds--who steered me this way and expressed interest to me--and otherwise cut it off with the group we have right here, I can run for us.

Would you prefer Eden Universe--an original setting created here by myself, Bishrook, and Darwishi (we each have our own version) or a next generation Marvel Universe story?

I'm probably looking at Power Level 10 and medium smut level, with non consensual as a possibility, except for players who ask to be exempt from it.

My Marvel knowledge is spotty, but I could be persuaded. That said, for those unfamiliar with Eden Universe, could you provide a quick primer or source link to read? :)

Roman100

I would like to know about Eden before I make a call on that.  I know Marvel backwards and forwards and it's great but it can also be a bit . . . extra.  If we did Marvel I would like to avoid 'ermagerd dudez, it's Spiderman' situations every ten minutes if at all possible.  I'm working on a character whose primary powers will be teleportation and invisibility.  For scouting.  Not for voyeurism.  Not -primarily- for voyeurism, at least.

I don't know what everyone else thinks, but non-con will pretty much rule me out--even if my character can opt out, the presence of such encounters in the story still going to dramatically change the dynamics and feel. NC seems to be very much the standard for superhero RP here, and it's something I'm just not interested in. Of course, if everyone else is okay with it, I wish you all the best.   :-)

Angie

Eden universe sounds fun. As for non con, I'm personally not super into it myself, I prefer keeping things a bit lighter.

I enjoy both con and non-con, though a con-only one would fit well into the ideas I was going on about above.  A very sex-positive superhero setting with lots of wild, kinky fun in their social lives.  It also reminds me of Adam Warren's Empowered, where people refer to the Unwritten Rules in the superhero world.  Captive heroes might get tied up, but not molested or abused (or killed) by a villain, as that makes the other supers come down very hard on the perpetrator.

I'd like to hear more about the Eden setting before deciding, though a Marvel one could work in a city that isn't New York, not being so full of heroes.

I can take or leave non-con if it's not everyone's cup of tea. I'd also love to hear more about your Eden universe before deciding but I usually lean towards original content to give more freedom when making characters. It's always weird making your own version of Iron Man if there already is one or three running around.

I'm leaning towards an acrobatic, quippy hero and/or a stretchy Mr. Fantastic/Elastigirl type.

That's very much what I'd prefer too--everyone concerned having fun when it comes to sexy times.

Does the “Eden Academy” indicate you want to have an school for supers game, or that the PC attended it?  Or is that aspect is from another game?
