I use Gdocs, and i also keep a plugin for my browser that saves data.

Juggtacular

Which data save plug-in do you use? I used to use Lazarus, but it apparently violates the chrome store web policy so it works, but if I don't remember to turn it on, it's not gonna record anything. It used to be on all the time so I didn't even think about it until I lost my work.

Oh, sure.  Talia's family has plenty of money (even if you ignore her grandmother, who probably doesn't give her an allowance), but you never know when you might need to cheat someone.  Also, I'm not sure modern American money would have any value at the Institute.  :-\

Speaking of which.  Are students expected to stay on-campus pretty much all the time, or will they have some way to e.g. visit the modern era on weekends so they can go to the mall or something?  (I'm not sure what counts as a "weekend" when the whole place is in a time loop anyway, but you get the idea.)

Also...holy yikes, Aine can amplify other people's powers?  Looks like we might get that ice castle after all!

You're correct in assuming modern money isn't much a help within' the dimension. Madame Blackwell sits atop a fortune enough to take care of everyone until the end of time but she isn't against any charitable donations her wards families may contribute.

Due to the threats at large, no student is permitted to leave campus on their own, and she really would rather her staff remain in the safety of the pocket dimension but she understands the stress that can come of living in a time-loop. As such, Mary does hold 'Field Trips' so that the youngsters can enjoy the traditional delights of their youth, like going to the mall, visiting the beach, amusement parks and the like.

Well I had almost a complete character sheet. Then my browser crashed and the sheet I had up in a pm...just doesn't exist anymore. I'll still be making him. It's just gonna take a bit longer.

So sorry to hear of your loss. If you happen to use the Google Chrome browser, you might be able to retrieve it from your History through the Settings bar up in the right hand corner--I incidentally closed out Mary's CS once before and was able to rescue it as such.
I have taken to using Documents because they do wonders for saving, you can even enable them to be accessible in Offline mode which I think is divine. :)

I won't rush anyone with your CS, it may not be until this coming weekend until the In Character boards are up and ready. I do owe replies I've been otherwise dismissing outside of this awesome game, and I anticipate a load of crap on my regular overnight work schedule this week, so I may be a bit slow for fleshing out the details. Take all the time you need.
If you're at work on your character(s) or currently accepted, you may mosey on to the OOC board to socialize or join us in the Discord room so we don't essentially spam this thread with chatter with everything well under way. Thank you kindly.

currently i use Textarea Cache. Not sure if that is Chrome compatible though.

That's actually an interesting point.  It's entirely possible that Talia's grandmother would feel obligated to do something to repay Madame Blackwell for taking Talia in, although I doubt that Queen Mab is in the habit of repaying her debts in hard currency.

Perhaps she could send one of her courtiers as a guest teacher, or even lend a hand in magically supporting the time loop?  The former would probably be more interesting, story-wise.  I wasn't really planning on making a staff character, but the OP does say we can have three characters per player, so if I have a good idea I'll let you know.

we doing two courS of the Fae or many?
Talia is somewhat inspired by (although there are some nontrivial differences) the Dresden Files portrayal of the fae, where there are two major courts (Seelie/Summer, and Unseelie/Winter).

Nothing in her backstory requires that only those two courts exist, though.  If someone else wanted to create a fae-related character I'm sure we could figure something out that makes sense for everyone.

Well both my ideas are Fae inspired

One, the student is more Merry Gentry Fae in that her father is Seelie and her mother barely unsealing blooded at all (three steps down is 1/8th right?)

The other is trickier.  She’s very Dresden and based on anold character I did here that never when far..like the Headmistress her main source of power is curtailed in that to draw on it was huge consequences and I’m not entirely sure I want to play her. I’m typing up the student but I’m not sure I want to do up the ‘Decorum and Manners teacher’

My vampire Hikaru is now in the character archives! Anyone wants to plot anything with my nephilim or my vampire, let me know! ^.^

Btw, I volunteer my character Aine as tribute for anyone that needs a bully or needs someone to bully. ^^

I also volunteer her as tribute for other things as well. :3

That aside, I also added onto the additional information section of Aine's profile for people to peek at to their leisure. ^^

My Angel is up and I’m very interested in plotting some storylines. Any takers?
“If all we have is this imagined empty canvas of endless possibility...this potential heaven...then let it be our haven. A place of marriage between two souls desperate to feel something beyond the cruel tedium of real life. If we truly be the masters who dream these dreams then let our innermost desires fuel the adventures we create and the love that we make here, let it all unfold endlessly or for only a brief moment in time but for as long as it breathes let it devour and I will forgive your boldness if you will be so good as to forgive me mine...” ~ Chantarelle

Would you loves like me to make a board for the purpose of Relationship Building? Alternately, I could make a board in the Discord if you would prefer, but I know some writers like keeping track of their characters interactions. :)

So this would be, like...a place where we keep track of who our characters have met, what they think of them, which dark secrets they've revealed to them, etc.?

I haven't seen one of these before, but it seems like a good idea.

You've got it right. It's pretty popular on the proboards/invisionfree/jcink crowds... and once upon a time, Acornrack/Avidgamers. I've been roleplaying since the dawn of time.  ;D

Rhiannon Smith is posted in the character section

Yup, a literal fiery red head with an earth smashing temper..

TheGlyphstone

Rhiannon looks like fun. Johann might end up doing dual duty as the institute's "Shop Class" instructor because of his smithing expertise.

Do we have a staff member in the works who specializes in magic/enchantment? Need someone to be animating and bespelling all those wonderful golems he forges.

Edit: Speak of the devil dragon....

I suspect such a task will fall to Finn! :D

The Headmistress as well is rather adept with enchantments, and does on occasion teach classes on the Fundamentals of Magick and Spellwork, when she has a rest day--the basics, charms, locks, broom riding, that sort of thing. She's fond of animating inanimate objects, especially when it comes to armor, statues, or paintings.

TheGlyphstone

That's all covered then. Between Finn and Mary we have magical education covered, and physical combat falls under the gym/PE header - Johann doesn't make people run laps, he makes them do sparring drills and mock duels.

FWIW, all of the animated armor/statues on the property are carbon copies of Johann's own armor design. One of his periodic jokes is replacing one and pretending to be inanimate until someone walks by. :D
