Here is what is going on, I am going to be running ONE group game in the near future as soon as my schedule calms down a little bit. Here are the options, I’d like to know folks preference. I'll tally votes for like a week or so and then make a decision based on the majority rule.

Carpathians of Christine Feehan
Set in the universe of the Christine Feehan Dark series… A resort , run by a powerful telepathic psychic named Ellie, dedicated to helping psychic have a relaxing vacation away from judgemental non-psychic society AND helping Carpathians find their destined life mates at the same time.

After becoming mated to a Carpathian male, Ellie had a brilliant idea… what if psychics had a place to go to temporarily escape the stress, pressure and judging they receive every day in normal society? What more, what if Carpathian males yet to find their life mate could equally benefit from potentially finding that one special someone among the guests in attendance?

So Laka Gardens was born, nestled upon the Hawaiian island of Kahoolawe, protected and kept private for the use of psychics and carpathians by useful high up connections in the American government that owed the Carpathian people a colossal debt that could never be truly repaid.

(I’ll determine how knowledge of Laka Gardens is distributed should this idea be chosen)

Sarcina Academy. Rebooted.
The year is 2120, Werewolves revealed themselves to the world 100 years ago, but they still live very private and sectioned off lives from humans. For multiple good reasons, though primarily to keep humans safe from their complicated lives.

It’s now understood why the world famous prestigious university known as Sarcina is so ultra exclusive that it’s nigh unheard of for non-legacy’s to get in… every single student and teacher is a werewolf. A university exclusively for werewolves to safely seek excellent higher education before they came out to the world.

That’s not to say that werewolves are forbidden from human contact, not at all, they are free to go and live where they wish… though most of them are uncomfortable living amongst humans and tend to stick with their own clans in werewolf territories within whatever country they are native to.

Seven werewolf clans throughout the world making up the werewolf global population... Lunarclaw, Lunaflame, Direfang, Glacierclaw, Bramblethorn, Kiba no Meiyo and Colmillos dorados ... all of them noble and proud in their own way, but they've come to realize a serious problem in the last eighteen years...

No new children have been born, not a single one in the entire werewolf population around the world, in the long stretch of eighteen years... research and in depth testing on the troubling matter has revealed to the werewolves a sudden and mysterious decline of fertility among their females. Not even the most brilliant of the Lunarclaw Clan scientists could pinpoint the source, but it was clear they would have to find a new solution or quietly fade away into oblivion.

The Lunarclaw werewolves brought forth an idea to a board consisting of elders from each of the clans... a practice that had once been frowned upon in the past, but would now prove the salvation of the werewolf species....

Mating with humans...  the werewolf genes were dominant, so any children conceived would be born werewolf, their genes thankfully prevented the genetic dilution that resulted in halfbloods in other species.

However, they didn’t want just any human floozy off the streets, it was important that their future generations had the best chances their parents could give them, especially with their declining numbers. Their society HAD to be successful.

Sarcina Academy Headmaster and leader of the Lunarclaw clan, Rafaello Myst, met with world leaders on behalf of the other clans, it was agreed by all that females around the world with a completed high school education and a clean record would be issued the opportunity to attend the university of Sarcina on all expenses paid scholarship and while there, be courted by the young unmated males. Rafaello was perfectly on board with the request that the females involved would be given all the power to accept or reject a werewolf’s courtship if he did not please her.

These ladies have the first year of attendance at Sarcina to allow the young virile werewolf males, of age and yearning a mate of their own, to get to know them and court them, ultimately completing the courtship by placing a mating mark upon the base of their necks... or the lady in question unwilling to choose a wolf mate by the end of the time period are sent home to make room for the next names on the university’s waiting list.
If the choice is made to accept a male and take his mark, the female will enroll as a permanent student and continue attending Sarcina will all the status and perks of being a highborn werewolf's mate.

“If all we have is this imagined empty canvas of endless possibility...this potential heaven...then let it be our haven. A place of marriage between two souls desperate to feel something beyond the cruel tedium of real life. If we truly be the masters who dream these dreams then let our innermost desires fuel the adventures we create and the love that we make here, let it all unfold endlessly or for only a brief moment in time but for as long as it breathes let it devour and I will forgive your boldness if you will be so good as to forgive me mine...” ~ Chantarelle

Question: What exactly is a Carpathian?

Look up Christine Feehan’s Dark series, you’ll find lots of information :)

LamentingQuill

Well, it's a week later and there are two votes for the werewolf one. If no one has any further input, that's probably the direction we'll go.

Carpathians

I'll wait one more week and we'll see what the tally looks like on the 15th. Right now it's at 2 for werewolves and 1 for carpathians.

Vote counted

That puts us at a tie again with 3 for 3.

I think you might have counted my vote in wrong?

“The Doctor: This is bad, I don't like this. [kicks console and yells in pain] Never use force, you just embarrass yourself. Unless you're cross, in which case... always use force!
Amy: Shall I run and get the manual?
The Doctor: I threw it in a supernova.
Amy: You threw the manual in a supernova? Why?
The Doctor: Because I disagreed with it! Now stop talking to me when I'm cross!”

If you'll have me I'd vote for wolves as well :)

Yours and Velasterian's are counted.

That puts us at

werewolves- 6

carpathians-
2

I'm kind of thinking we may wind up going with werewolves, a book fandom is somewhat of a gamble.

What do you guys think?

I'm fine with that, I loved academy last time. It just got too big for me at like 20ish characters 😂

Too bad,  Carpathians  would have had themselves and the ones those that descended into becoming dreaded dark vampires.   The gifted humans,  werewolfs, werejaguars,  mages.

LamentingQuill

Oh I'll likely still work on the foundation for a carpathian game to introduce later, this just gives me lots of time to make the foundation extra solid and detailed.

LamentingQuill

Okay, it is officially after the 15th and the werewolf vote is definitely higher than the number for Carpathians. Like I said, I will like continue working on the skeleton for a Carpathian game and do it in the future sometime, but I'll be launching the recruit thread for the werewolves anywhere from tonight to Monday afternoon.

It's really going to depend on everything going on in RL, but it'll definitely be up by Monday at the latest.
