Lola's
The swankiest saloon in the west!

It might not look like much from the outside, but step through those doors, and you find yourself in the swankiest saloon in the whole of the wild west!
Lola's reputation for serving the best bourbon this side of the Rockies is legendary, and men folk come from all around to spend their hard earned
silver on the whiskey....and Lola's other delights.

Lola's is also known for her girls.  They're not your average charge-by-the-hour types you get in most establishments.  No, siree.  Lola's girls get educated. They converse with the customers.  Heck, they've even been known to offer solid advise on the odd occasion!  That's not to say the girls aren't partial to earning a little extra on the side, of course, but Lola knows there's more money to be made at the bar than there is in the upstairs rooms.

Lola has worked long and hard to build her business and her reputation, and she's been successful on both accounts.  However, all is not well in Silver City.  A new tycoon is in town.  No-one knows who he is, or where he hailed from, or what his plans are, but he's been spending up big, and his intentions have Lola worried.  What could he be up to, and if he comes gunning for Lola's saloon, who will protect her and her girls?

Welcome to the Old West!

Welcome to Lola's, the swankiest saloon in the old west!  The era is around the mid 1860's, or thereabouts.  And although I would like to pay homage to the era by staying as historically accurate as possible, some flexibility is obviously required for the sake of the game.

Our story takes place in Silver City, a town nestled just west of the Rockies, in the southern Idaho/northern Utah region.  As the name suggests, it came into being thanks to the discovery of silver in them thar hills, with the town established nearby to service the mines and miners who came to the area.

Lola's is a saloon where the men come for the company of the ladies.  They come for the conversation and the interactions they don't get in other places.  The fellas spend money on the girls by buying them drinks (there's water behind the bar that's been coloured to look like whiskey - this is what the girls get when the men buy them a drink.  It's all about the dollars!) or buying dances.  The upstairs rooms are, of course, available for other activities, but these are less sought after than in other saloons. Rather than being a whorehouse that serves liquor, Lola's is a bar where intimate interactions may take place. The girls are not whores, but companions.  Lola certainly doesn't expect the girls to entertain men upstairs, but if the girls do choose to, the patrons of Lola's know it is a privilege, not a right.  AND, it's ladies choice.  Men have been thrown out in the past for trying to take unsolicited liberties with the girls.

The game is sandbox, and fairly freeform, although I would ask that if your character is in the middle of an interaction with someone else's character, you don't leave them hanging for a long time.  In the event that does occur (and let's be honest, real life happens from time to time!), then the game may have to move on the best it can.

The nature of Lola's lends itself well to new players joining, so don't let the fact that we've got a story going deter you.  If you think you'd like to join us, go ahead and submit a character sheet!  Our hero could certainly do with a bit of support - the villain has a posse, but poor Tom only has the girls.  Not that he's really complaining at this point!

Please feel free to PM me with any questions you might have.  I look forward to meeting new players!

Looking to see if anyone would be interested in helping me reboot an old group game of mine.  I'll be writing Lola, but I'm looking for at least four more characters:

- A villain, preferably male
- A male hero
- Two (or more) saloon girls

Ideally, you'll have attention to detail, and stay true to the period - around about the 1870's.

Silver City - our home town - is just west of the Rockies, and is known for its rich silver deposits.  Or at least, that's what it's been famous for in the past.  The rumour mill is running hot, though, that something else has been found in them thar hills....but no one seems to know just what it is, or what it might mean for Silver City.  And has that got anything to do with the mysterious new tycoon in town?

Hey Miss Lilly, I would be interested in playing the male hero if possible :)

Miss Lilly

Wow...that was quick, Jason!  You beat me to my next post, lol.

Did you have a preference for the villain or the hero?

You beat me again, lol.

Haha seems like I am one step ahead of you here. I was actually thinking to myself how much I would love to play a group western game and then boom, here was your post :) I watched the series Godless on Netflix and since then have wanted to play out a western game. Not sure how big you want the game to become but I can also play another character like a regular male customer or something like that.

Timing is everything, lol.

The hero is yours, Jason!  And I'm happy for you to write another character if you like...or alternately we can have a stable of NPCs that everyone can use as it suits them.

Perhaps a Native American saloon girl Lola rescued?

That would definitely be something Lola would do....as far as she is concerned, her girls are her family and she takes the looking out for them seriously!

The rockies spread pretty darn far, where abouts are we looking for game location?

Miss Lilly

I did a bit of research, and based on the history, I think we'll be in the southern Idaho/northern Utah vicinity.

Name: Pretty Hawk
Nickname: Lola gave her the name Rose to help her be less of a target for attack
Gender: Female
Age: 18
Hair: Black with brown undertones
Eyes: dark chocolate brown
Height: 5'4
Build:Hourglass, 40D breasts with a pleasantly rounded backside, a sweetly narrow waist in between.
Identifying/Remarkable Features:  - N/A -
Attire/Special Personal Items:
This dress
and
these boots

Special Mention:  - Rose's entire tribe was attacked by renegades, she managed to escape and tried to find help in the near by town... the men that came upon her were not so kind and only had interest to defile the shoshone maiden. Salvation arrived in just the nick of time when Miss Lola happened upon the scene brandishing a pistol, she scared off the unarmed men and brought the frightened girl she named Rose back to her saloon. Rose looks up to Miss Lola and adores her as like an older sister, her loyalty to Lola is iron strong, she will never leave her side.-

Miss Lilly

I love her, LamentingQuill!  She's perfect for Lola's right-hand girl...I can imagine Lola grooming her to take over one day!

an OOC might be a good idea or a special room for the group on discord, perhaps both :)
