Captain Whitebread

He's trying to rebuild it so he can start trading again.  He wants to get rich.

I've got a Force-Sensitive Mandalorian Kiffar who works as a Freelancer. He's got his Mando skills and training so he does a lot of bounty hunting, security, even some theft, etc... As he has the rare Kiffar ability of Psychometry, he's also damn good at finding things and detective work as he can see the past of objects and people.

Captain Whitebread

I guess you missed the 'not really looking for Force users' post.

Well I did, but in this case the Force Sensitive is the Psychometry part as that power only tends to surface in Kiffar who can touch the Force. That'd be the extent of it though.

Tolvo

It does depend on how powerful he is, but Psychometry is something I think works more rather than a lot of more traditional Force powers. And it's something that is easier to match with traditional skills and knowledge and is more specific and won't be useful in every situation.

Juggtacular

The extent of his force powers would have been subconsciously using it to enhance speed and strength in combat situations as he only has a strong connection, no actual training, but I'm fine with him just having the Psychometry if that's what you prefer.

Tolvo

As long as he isn't really superhuman but more so just enhanced. The sort of thing someone could get with cybernetics or just being at peak performance.

Yes. It would be comparable to that level of enhancement. More powerful than a normal person, but he's not going to be tossing speeder bikes and stuff.

Captain Whitebread

I wonder if Shaa Raa could get away with selling fake psychometry implants....

If they're working together he can ask for tips on how to make the experience seem more realistic from someone who experiences it every day. All he'd ask for was a small cut of the profits. 15%?

Captain Whitebread

Would he take 5%?

After all, once the fine tuning is done, he's getting paid for something he did in the past, not something he's currently doing.  Also, cash or trade?

Juggtacular

10% and he can use himself as a "random passerby" to help sell the illusion, since he can just actually use his power on something and make it seem like it's the implant.

Credits are fine, so is junk weapons tech...he's got a guy.

Captain Whitebread

For junk weapon tech I am the guy.

And if I use you as a stray passerby, that will work once maybe twice. For 10% you’d need to bring me customers whether they are for weapons implants droids or vehicles. Call it a commission.

With my line of work, I've always got a few bodies I can send your way. The ones I send you personally can't get cheated though. They get actual working stuff. A lot of them are potential jobs for us.

RobHumph

So should I work on a char sheet to send you over Tolvo? Can leave the section on ships (if there is one) blank until it's decided

Tolvo

Well character sheets can be PM'ed or posted here. When there are completed sheets I'll post a Character Sheet Thread for the finalized ones.

RobHumph

Alrighty guys. How does this one look?

Character Sheet: Gav
Player Name: RobHumph

Character Name: Gavin "Gav" Gren

Age: 29

Archetype: Dashing (self-imagined) Smuggler and Pilot

Appearance:  A rather average looking human of reasonable build and height. Gav does scream fighter to look at him, in fact, he doesn't scream much beyond a general air of cheekiness and what some would consider immaturity. His beard and hair are scruffy, and it is readily apparent that they were grown mostly because he couldn't be bothered to keep them tidy or clean-shaven. His clothes are simple and functional and just radiate a lack of general funds.

Species/Race: Human, from Ord Mantell

Culture: Ord Mantell

Weight: 77.3kg. 170lbs

Height: 5'11''

Attire/Armor/Gear/Worn:
- Scruffy if simple clothes. Brown trousers with black boots, a black belt, pale beige shirt and a light brown jacket. Oftentimes wears a red scarf and gloves when outdoors or doing work on the ship or piloting.
- Flight suit (for hazardous environs and in-space repairs)
- The belt includes; pouches for holding various things, canteen of a liquid of indeterminate alcohol content, general tools, blaster pistol holster and extra power cell sockets.

Weapons:
- DC-15s Blaster Pistol. An old Clone Wars model pistol that has seen better days but is still maintained by Gav.
- A nice heavy spanner can act as a club he supposes. And he has a couple of them.

Inventory:
- The belt includes; pouches for holding various things, canteen of a liquid of indeterminate alcohol content, general tools, blaster pistol holster and extra power cell sockets.
- New Republic IC Card (the picture on the card is of a clean-shaven Gavin with a manic smile)

Walking Around Credits:
- 200 credits

Housing:
- Lives on his ship

Storage:
- General ship necessities (rations, fuel, spare parts etc)

Vehicles:
- Still open for debate but likely CEC XS-1200 Frieghter with an extended crew quarter section.

Bank Account:
- 2800 credits

Personality:
- Immature
- Greedy
- Opportunistic
- Friendly
- A tad cowardly

Dreams:
- Get a nicer ship
- Credits are nice too
- Wouldn't mind being able to retire to someplace like Naboo
- See the galaxy and what is has to offer

Nightmares:
- Public Speaking
- Paperwork
- Death
- The mere idea of Jedi or Sith

Contacts:
- Several customs officials in the New Republic, ones who can be bribed.

History: Gavin led a pretty simple life until his teens when he was brought along as a crewer on his uncle's freighter. That went well enough, served to teach Gav the basics of piloting and ship maintenance. However, things began (putting it mildly) to go wrong about the time they hauled some cargo to Nar Shaddaa. Now, to hear Gav speak of it, he was cheated at several games of pazaak out of several thousand credits by some very unsavoury sorts who demanded he smuggle something on his uncles' ship to repay it all. This was broadly true, only he wasn't cheated out of anything, he was just too dense to quit while he was ahead.

Now, smuggling, while profitable, is not exactly something Gav's uncle was much of a fan of, so as soon as he was found out he was summarily kicked off of the ship. Fortune favoured the nitwit though and he managed (by sheer dumb luck) managed to win a cheap ship at a game of Pazaak (Gavin claims it was pure skill). From there, he kept at it and eventually managed to built up quite the reputation as a good smuggler, even got to know a few customs officials in the New Republic, the one's who would accept bribes.

Tragically... a reputation as a smuggler ain't the best thing to have. So to cut a long story short, after a stint in a jail after being busted for carrying a shipment of spice, Gavin is in need of some cash, and fast. The credits he was able to stash away only managed to get him a ship on the cheap, and he needs more to get set up again.

False Identities: N/A not forward thinking enough to come up with any beyond trying to convince people Nerg Nivag exists.

Attributes:
- Charismatic
- Lucky
- Dexterity
- Reflexes

Knowledge Skills:
- Piloting (Space and Speeder)
- Small Arms
- Hiding
- Running
- Sleight of Hand
- Charm
- Deception
- Haggle
- Arms Dealing
- Smuggling
- Engineering

Languages:
- Galactic basic
- Huttese
- Understands most common alien languages but only speaks the two above.

Additional: (Anything additional you want to add.)

Tolvo

It looks good to me so far, a suggestion I have is maybe more languages, which you can just list as general understanding of alien languages rather than having to list them all so he could understand an Ithorian, an Aqualish, a Quarren, etc. The common aliens that are around without being stuck out because you're dealing with a bunch of Rodians. I'd maybe mention a dedicate melee weapon as well. Lots of the tools could count as one but just one you can regularly rely on if you get stuck up close even if you don't plan on getting that close to anyone. Can even just be a specific tool that happens to be a bit long with a heavy head.

For a minute there, I almost thought you were sending me corpses.  I wouldn't mind.  it's just that the living ones pay better.  And, for the record, I don't cheat anybody who actually knows what they're doing.  Walk out without testing what I sell you and it is your own damned fault....

Tolvo

Yep that looks good. If you want you can also add some more skills and things but only if you want. But otherwise at this stage the character looks good, fits in, I think would be credit to team. Also somehow I didn't know spanner was an actual term for a wrench, I always assumed it was a fantasy term because wrench sounded too modern.

RobHumph

hehe. I feel my british words for things shall confuse some folks then.

And I think Gav is good for skills right now. Can always pick up more along the way after all.

Tolvo

I can't tell you how many people I've met who thought Lift was a Star Wars term.

RobHumph

... really? oh my god. Are pavement and bin alien to them as well?
