Athos

Leave me in darkness,
With only a candle for light;
Bar the door.
Leave me only the blank page
For company and I shall pour out
The depths of my soul for you.
Leave me in silence, and I will whisper to you
The dark desires of man.
Leave me in fear, and I will show you the meaning
Of courage.
Give to me your hatred, and I will love you for it.
Give to me death, and I will show you a life truly lived.
In death there is pain.
In pain, we find creation.
In creation, we find ecstasy:
The ecstasy of immortality.

"Weep," said Athos, "Weep, heart full of love, youth and life! Alas, I would I could weep like you!"

A very lovely poem, did you write this yourself or was it taken from somewhere?
I need never make a promise because just saying something is the same as a promise.

Own your words and actions. If you don't feel comfortable being responsible for these, then do not do or say anything.

Thank you, I'm glad you like it. I did write it myself while listening to Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata. :)

This is a nice bit of poetry. It belongs in the poetry thread!
I have gone off in search of myself. If I should get back before I return, please keep me here.
