A little Deeper:
Uriah's family (on both sides) has a long tradition of producing Slytherins with a few Ravenclaws thrown in. There has only been one recorded Gryffindor and exactly zero Hufflepuffs in his family tree (not including his aunt's offspring). At his sorting the Hat seemed torn as to whether to place him in Ravenclaw or Slytherin and had actually leaned toward Ravenclaw until a stray thought seemed to teeter the decision in the opposite direction. While its clear Uriah values intelligence and knowledge, ultimately it is his ambition that defines him. He is a man determined to have his way in life and can be very clever about getting it.
Uriah is a man of few words. Its not so much that he has nothing interesting to say, as he's very intelligent and will put his warm baritone to use when necessary, but he finds that listening tends to reveal so much more than simply talking. Born into a wealthy family with their fingers in several lucrative pies, muggle and wizard alike, he doesn't put much stock into a person's origins or blood status. (He knows purebloods who are a million times slimier than even the lowest born muggle.) Instead he prefers to make his assessments of a person based upon what they bring to the table. In his eyes, the true measure of a man (or woman) is not about what they are born with but rather what they allow themselves to become and the values they hold dear. That said he is picky about who he allows himself to associate with on a level beyond acquaintanceship. As a man used to the lifestyle his family affords, Uriah has quietly expensive taste and always maintains his health and appearance. To some he may come off as charming, others arrogant, and others still might think the worst of him but he long ago accepted that he wasn't one to be a people pleaser.
