A young man named Rithen, member of a sect known as the Ætherians, oppressed and persecuted for centuries as heretics and blasphemers by the adherents of the other Four Gods, enters a forest declared forbidden by the god of earth. A series of earthquakes uncovers the entrance to an underground ruin, where he finds a mysterious girl trapped in magical stasis. He brings her out, and learns her name is Ai.

It soon becomes apparent that Ai holds within herself a great secret and power that may overthrow the very gods themselves, so they soon find themselves pursued by the monks of the god of earth who were tasked with preventing her from awakening, and soon enough, the other gods may learn of her and attract their attention.
