Personality

Skylar is a very friendly and social girl. Despite appearances, she likes to bounce around from clique to clique talking and hanging with any and everybody who's receptive. She doesn't care about anyone's reputation or whatever and likes those who are comfortable just being themselves because she always is regardless of circumstances — at times she forgets to filter her thoughts before they come out of her mouth... In any case, she is very open minded with her own unique outlook on things and enjoys being shown new ideas and perspectives. Overall Skylar is confident, intelligent, and very driven. She knows what she wants and isn't afraid to go and get it. She can get very focused on tasks, especially when it comes to her art, so sometimes she's a little absent minded (she will forget to eat or sleep sometimes) and she can become slightly obsessive about finishing something if it has gotten its hooks into her. Skylar is genuinely up for trying anything once and believes everyone should play just as hard as they work.

A Little Deeper

Skylar was born in Austria only a year after her mother met and fell in love with her father while he was there on vacation with his friends. Her parents were very young when she came along but both had their own ambitions so they packed up and moved to London where they figured it might be a bit easier for them to realize their goals while still raising a child. Being so young, Skylar's parents were very liberal and open minded. Rather than restricting their daughter too heavily they allowed her lots of freedom, with the main thing stressed being that if she had questions she would always come to them for answers and they would do their best to answer honestly. They didn't shelter her from real world as they saw it and when she displayed her magical ability for the first time they just sorta took it in stride. Skylar grew up in a happy home. Her parents stayed busy but they always made time for her and she never had reason to question their love for her. Unfortunately they died while on vacation shortly after her first year of JWA when a cave collapsed on them and the group they were with. Skylar was staying with her Father's sister at the time and after they were notified of her parents death that's where she stayed. That could have changed Skylar for the worse, made her withdraw, but fortunately her Aunt and Uncle were patient and seemingly kindred spirits to her parents. Though they were even younger than her parents they raised her, looking after her as best as they could while still fostering the same sort of atmosphere Skylar was used to and she seemed all the better for it. Skylar absolutely loves being a witch. She's not quite sure what she wants to do when school is all said and done but her hope is that whatever it turns out to be it will allow her to interact with the muggle world as well as the wizarding world. It will most likely have to do with her art, which she would absolutely crumble without. Still, she's got quite a few years left and she's enjoying it. Next up: Senior year of JWA. After that, lookout Hogwarts!
