Appearance

Sam is a tall, lean but well-muscled man standing a hair past six feet tall, with long sandy-brown hair, hazel eyes, and well-tanned skin.

He appears to be in his mid twenties – the age he was when he was turned. But his true age is 253.

He keeps his sandy brown hair long (see picture), and his hazel eyes are sharp and observant, though one might swear they were always full of mischief. He has a tanned complexion – the tone of his skin when he was turned - and an easy-going demeanor about him, as if life was just a game to him – and he is always winning.

Sam possesses a half-dozen scars on his back, each one well over eight inches in length that do not form any sort of recognizable pattern. These lash marks were made and healed into scars well before he was turned, so they remain on his body to this very day.

Personality

Sam is first and foremost a cunning individual. He flaunts governmental authority and loves challenges. His actions usually involve some sort of plan, and sometimes plans within plans.

Sam loves competition, whether it's one-on-one on the basketball court, video games on the Playstation, or drinking games. But more than anything, he loves racing and driving fast. Every red-light is a challenge for him, if anyone next to him dares to accept it.

He enjoys intelligent conversation, hard-rock and heavy-metal music. Long drives – alone or not – are one of his favorite past-times, especially in a convertible with the top down and the wind in his hair, preferably along the coast somewhere on a warm summer's night.

Sam believes everything has a price, and those things that don't can be stolen. He's never had a 'serious' relationship with a woman, but he sure does love the ladies – the only thing better to him than a fast car, is a faster woman.

Ability

Sam has Super Speed/Reflexes, four to five times greater than the average vampire.

History

Samuel Wiley was born in 1760 in Boston, MA. His father was a merchant, importing goods from England while his mother was a seamstress, working mainly out of the family home. Sam grew up during the birth of the USA, and that yearning for freedom never left him.

From an early age, Sam showed a lack of respect for government – especially the British government. He readily volunteered to join the American army during the onset of the Revolutionary War, even though he still had not turned sixteen years old. He was refused, but not undaunted. He and a small group of similar-minded friends set about conducting their own 'guerrilla war' against the red-coats: burning food shipments, supplies, stealing horses, etc, It was very small-time stuff, but they felt they were contributing.

One of the group's members was a beautiful young woman named Amber, who Sam was smitten over. She organized and led various anti-British activities during daring night-time raids. One evening, Sam expressed his desire for her, and she offered herself to him in exchange for one thing: she wanted to bite him. Sam was aroused by that idea and readily agreed. After a night of heated passion, she bit him – and soon after he joined her in undeath.

Sam felt betrayed, eventually fleeing Boston as his hunger grew. Amber wanted to remain in contact with him, but he hated her for tricking him into his condition, and vowed never to speak with her again and still hasn't to this day. He fled far away from his family, never seeing them again, afraid that what he had become would betray him as well and cause him to harm his mother and father. It wasn't until many years later that he finally visited their grave for the first time, and has made the trip to visit it every year since, on the anniversary date when he fled home, seeing them alive for the last time.

With his new-found abilities – and limitations – Sam lived day to day, stealing what he needed. He became quite -good- at stealing, especially since he could move so fast, and worked at night under the cover of darkness.

Theft went from a requirement to survive, to a hobby, and then eventually to something he did to amass wealth. The more daring the heist, the more fun it was. But he wasn't necessarily greedy, and he certainly wasn't -stupid- about it. He never robbed the same place twice, and he moved around frequently.

The decades passed, and Sam's life didn't change – only the targets of his crimes did. He generally stole only from the rich – not entirely from a sense of 'honor', but because rich people generally had the things that he was most interested in stealing.

The twentieth century arrived, and with it the creation of the automobile. Quickly, the 'mechanical horse' replaced the animal of its name-sake, and Sam had a new passion: driving... and stealing the machines that allowed such a passion.

Sam has made his living on cars ever since. It's a love-affair that's lasted over a century, and shows no signs of abating. He especially loves fast cars, and not only enjoys stealing and selling them – or parting them out at a secret chop-shop owned by someone he trusts, but he also enjoys the adrenaline rush of racing, as well, usually racing for high-stakes – or pink-slips.

The lifestyle led him farther west as the years went on. Vegas was a stopping for for awhile, but California was the ultimate gold-mine, where he moved back in the 60's and remains to this day.
