Hirelings

Sages are wise men, who train in one of the 6 colleges of lore to understand the universe. They are quite often artists and philosiphers, and capable of many impressive feats. They are not, however, acceptable as PCs, because of their many strange abilities.

A Sage will be trained in between 1 and 3 colleges, and have between 1 and 6 specialties in each college, to a maximum of 8 specialties. (consult the following table) A sage's salary is dependent on his total number of specialties; a sage earns 300gp a month per specialty he has. Sages will not work for anything less than the prospect of lifetime employment, and require a research grant of 10,000gp per specialty they have, plus an additional 20,000gp if they are not to allow others to consult with them.

2 Colleges: 1d4 specialties in each
