Boggart: That her family really doesn't want anything to do with her. Her father's mistakes coming back to bit her in the ass.
Personality: Impulsive, free spirited, open minded, creative, and somewhat chaotic.
Despite being a fairly intelligent girl with a knack for effortlessly retaining information, Riley has a tendency not to think things through fully especially if the "responsible" decision is likely to impeded her pursuit of fun/freedom. She likes to say she enjoys living in the moment and prefers to leave the future to tomorrow. Her personal philosophy is: "No proof? Didn't happen." Of course if she is caught it switches to: "Deny everything!"
A little Deeper:
Riley's upbringing was pretty standard for being a half-blood witch. She grew up enjoy the benefits of both the muggle and wizard worlds and with her father often busy tinkering with his media empire, it was her mother who looked after her. She attended a private muggle school until she was old enough to switch to Salem. While there she was notorious for being a bit of a wild child but had a sort of mentor/mentee relationship with her potions professor since that was the subject she seemed to take to. Her marks were usually high as far as grading her aptitude and knowledge but conduct was where she usually failed. In that regard her time at Salem was rather rocky and finally she was suspended for repeated offenses (all misunderstandings of course) including but not limited to: suspicion of orchestrating disruptive activities (throwing her Phantom parties--dubbed so by those who would often hear the party but could never manage to track it down), suspected attempted arson (her self-destructing fliers were used to implicate her in starting a fire in a girls bathroom--not actually her fault), fighting (she slapped a pureblood girl and "forcibly" washed her mouth out with soap for speaking ill of her parents, jinxed the same girl again after the girl intentionally ruined her class project, and dosed the same girl on yet another occasion with an unapproved potion that left her mute for a week straight).
That last was the act that ultimately saw her sent home since she refused to apologize or willingly provide the list of ingredients used to brew the potion. The Dean of students saw it as an intentionally malicious act that could have had worse consequences and thought that a little time away might give her proper time to think about her actions and their consequences. Riley had a reason for doing what she did but she has yet to reveal the reason and seemingly accepts her suspension with a cavalier attitude. As punishment, Riley has had her equipment, records, bass guitar, any and all music playing devices, and computer confiscated by her father and is forbidden to play any gigs til she gets her act together--whatever that means. In addition to that, her mother has contacted the Headmistress of Hogwarts to arrange a transfer as she firmly believes Hogwarts will be a better environment for her daughter than any American school. She hopes there Riley will find some direction and settle down a bit (though she herself was not always the good model student in her time either). Riley, who does not know her favorite cousin is also a witch and attends Hogwarts, hates that she's being sent away from home (but she'll get over it of course).
